Only click 'read more' if you want to read a rant and learn more about j-hope. I would say skip the guide videos because I have, to this day, never seen one that does j-hope justice. They may have info that you wouldn't have known but they also give a distorted view of the members and some are shown in better light than others. They feed into the public narratives set for the members which means j-hope is shown as the "sunshine" above all other qualities (which, yes he's a ray of light but he's SO much more too). I always see those videos talking about Suga and RM's history with k-hiphop and rap and their influences and works but never the same for j-hope. They dont tell you how j-hope is influenced by western hiphop more than k-rap, how his biggest influences weren't really underground/mainstream Korean scene rappers like namgi but black American rappers who he has given credit to always. How through his street dancing he learned so much about hiphop and it has shaped the way he makes music and raps. How you can just hear the old school hiphop in his songs and hear how he doesn't give much importance to 'fast' rapping but more to rhythm, rhyme, flow, and delivery just like the American hiphop artists that influence him. Not to mention his dancing.. certain other members' every single thing they once did that might've been hidden in a nook is shown to prove how talented they are in those videos but not j-hope's versatility and how he's the ultimate all rounder. How he's the best dancer, not just in BTS, but in the whole of kpop. How he is more experienced and better in hiphop, popping, locking and house dance than anyone in BTS, making him the most versatile dancer (4 dance styles + others). Not to mention him being the best and one of the only freestyle dancers in the kpop industry. Plus him being a good singer too and there's multiple video evidences that I have only ever seen jhope focused fans share. He's the ultimate ace but this is unknown to a lot of BTS fans because of intro videos that fail to show him as such and would rather talk about how another member is good at soccer or something. I wont even mention all his writing/composing/producing credits.. He is credited as the main songwriter/composer for some of ARMY's favourite songs and hits, like Dionysus (the whole Greek+drinking concept, he did it), Dis-ease, Mic Drop (his intro that set the tone), and he's the genius behind Whalien 52, he is the reason behind the iconic whale that is used by BTS & ARMY as a symbol. He is also the one who came up with the idea to use the term "Ddaeng" for the rapline song, Suga intended to use something like "ayo". I bet alot of you didnt know all this. Also, the misinformation regarding jhope oof... They say "he auditioned for JYP and they rejected him" when he actually never auditioned, only joined a JYP dance competition and WON the prize. He was the third member of BTS but the first to sign with BigHit and become a trainee. ARMY spread the agenda that he knew nothing before he came to BigHit and that the other rapline members 'taught' him how to rap when actually he had a good foundation and knowledge of hiphop because of his years dancing and he learned rapping by joining other trainees when they would be freestyling or battling. They had a rap teacher (Yankie) who taught them some stuff and jhope has also said that he taught suga and jungkook, whereas RM and suga have never said they taught jhope. He was basically famous before BTS since he had won national prizes for his dance, was part of a dance crew called Neuron, and did the dance competition with a group for JYP and performed on stage of which there is a video out there too. He was also casted in a musical as the lead child actor when he was little. In 2012 (1 year before BTS debuted) j-hope featured on a song by Jo Kwon named "Animal" where he wrote a rap verse and performed on stage too. Because of all this, when BTS were trainees they were known as "the group with Jung Hoseok". Talking about his own songs, the content of his rap is filled with so many nuances, wordplays, references - literary references, and whole worldly concepts that he comes up with, that no one bothers to read about or know and therefore his songwriting isn't as appreciated as it ought to be. But that's a talk for another day. I hope anyone that has read this long comment got to know more about hoseok and his influences, work, and skillsets, and can now share this knowledge with others. Thanks for reading, you're amazing!

BTS knows the culture like the back of their hand! they studied and learned hip hop. Unlike most kpop idol groups bts actually listened to this genre growing up.
1:49 That's something that I really love about all the members of BTS...despite all the awards, records, money, selling out stadiums, etc they are humble AF. It's like they forget, or it still doesn't feel real to them...and also they are just real, and they let us see and feel that realness. Yes they want to look good, sound good and have an image and at the same time being sincere and honest and real is also their art.

Don't apologize for pausing lol! Their lyrics are always incredible so taking the time to read them is awesome and appreciated. I recommend Born Singer next. They remade their own version of J Cole's Born Sinner, telling their story. They first performed it live back in 2013 and have performed a few more times since, with some updated lyrics. J Cole gave them permission to include it on their anthology album that came out last summer. Love your genuine reactions. You have a new subscriber. 😊💜💜💜
People are not humble anymore- Well, our boys are testament that there are still people who are already on top of this world yet still the most humble humans we know. This song is an example where they pay their respects to the legends, their idols be in song or dance, and there are still many more songs where they do this kind of paying homage to them. Most of all, BTS always credit ARMY for their success and they never forget to mention us in their music, in their specches etc. ARMYs are the luckiest fandom for having BTS by their side. As we say "AFOBANGFO!!"
Since you did this, you've got to do the sibling song "Born Singer" which is a cover of J. Cole's" Born Sinner"! Also, Suga once said that he writes about a song a day, so you can just imagine how blunt his pen tip is! Plus, when you start getting deep into learning them and their vast content, those videos are significantly longer. You should consider a modest Patreon down the line. Thank you for this reaction. I loved your comment about feeling sorry for jhopes haters. ❤️🔥 and Suga… I’m still in disbelief that I get to see his live show in may. 💜
The “Suga marry me” comment has become like a joke where even if another member does a live stream alone they get this comment, and when Suga did his birthday live stream the other day, several BTS members commented it too in the livestream comments. 😂🤣💜
BTS is a standout in KHH (Korean Hip Hop), in that they *Recognize* that the Artform originated with African American Hip Hop and Rap. They can name the greats and never stop giving credit (and acknowledge when they've overstepped into Appropriation early on). They were sent to California back early, early for the Reality Series American Hustle Life (gotta hit Dailymotion to get the most complete set of episodes). They did a crash course in the History of West Coast and the Basics. Respect 🫰🏾❤️🔥
Although j-hope was positioned as a rapper when he debuted, he had never been a rapper in any meaningful capacity prior to that. But that has actually given him unbridled ambition and clarity to be free with his musical pursuits. As I wrote in a column for SisalN in 2018, j-hope doesn't really owe the Korean hip hop scene much because it isn't where he got his start. He has since said with confidence that his musical roots are the 1980s and '90s hip hop that he grew up dancing to. Jack In The Box and "on the street" back up his claim.- weverse magazine. 💜
They are the real deal! Fully appreciating Hip-Hop history & culture, they are all fans of old school! It was originally going to be a Hip-Hop group! And don't worry about pausing/rewinding, their lyricism is part of their talents! We like folks appreciating their awesomeness! Welcome to the rabbit hole! -49yo Butter (Spring '21)ARMY 💜
BTS always pay homage to a lot of American rappers/artist Michael Jackson, Usher etc anyone that influence them musically. They write most of their music, produce & compose it. There’s so much content from their early years going through struggles of trying to break through being from a small label but their talent & hat work paid off & their music always have a meaning behind it. It’s a lot so baby steps but welcome to the BTS rabbit hole brother 🙃🙃we purple you. Looking forward to more of your reactions 💜💜
Yeah, asking Suga to marry you is more of a meme now 😂. I mean not that he's not known among the fans as "husband material", but since the other members started clowning the whole "Yoongi marry me" thing (Yoongi is Suga's birth name) and flocking to his livestreams to propose to him themselves, it kinda got out of hand 😂. He ain't just getting the girls, trust me 🤣
When a reactor says they are a hip hop head and they love old school hip hop, this song is what shows if it's true. Once you can appreciate this song I'll subscribe!
I would love for u to react to the live performances as well, than you can really see the passion and interaction between the band and the fans... ✌️✌️💜💜
No, the way they write...please do pause. Just means you're locked in and showing them respect. Appreciated this reaction. Looking forward to the next ✊🏽
I love the stories of how people discover them and their art. It’s like bangtan is a huge embroidery art piece and people find them through picking up on different threads of that huge huge picture. And I can guess that your thread is the colour of nostalgia and companionship :) they’re amazing artists and good people, we say that bangtan finds you at the right time so it’s never too late to discover what they’re about. I’d also recommend their solo works like RM’s Change feat.Wale or Suga’s feature on Juice World’s Girl of my Dreams. There are many many great songs both from the group as well as solo projects. I wish you lots of fun on discovering your fav pieces! Thanks and peace

11:39 they took pride of their pen game especially their leader, RM who wrote majority of BTS discographies. Their rap line are talented - RM, AgustD and Jhope. You can checkout their individual and group songs. All are amazing.
I just watched all your BTS reactions and I'm glad you are loving them so far This song is SO good. it came out in 2014 and one thing that BTS have proved is they making timeless songs because even their old songs still slaps today and I honestly never get tired of listening to their discography and If I someone does, then comeback later and ger obsessed all over again lol I really love the real love and respect they have for hip-hop, they always pay homage to the artists that inspire them to make their own craft and never really does songs that have a "hip-hope vibe" because it's cool or for popularity.
As you’re so into the richness of their lyrics, please find the lyrics and live performance of Ddaeng, but DEFINITELY watch the A Korean Explains video about the sing by DKDK TV. The insane intricacy and depth of wordplay, but also RM’s/Namjoon’s icily dismissive stutter rap, it’s an absolute masterpiece and with an undeniable cultural sound and flavor of their origins. I confess I’ve been jaded by so many people popping up for “reasons” to suddenly start reacting to the guys, but your reactions have been sincere and respectful, and you had me at your comment about Jhope’s/Hobi’s talent: “I feel sorry for his haters”. Yeah, you get it. Enjoy this incredibly diverse journey
These guys are as grounded and humble as they can, they fight for it actively. The long to be normal just show their passion for music. Have you seen recent Nas interview by Colbert? Just do it for the art.
This is why I have tons of appreciation towards the rapline because they just deliver raw and genuine lyrics and that shows to the music they put out. Language barrier exist but hey it’s 2023, translations subtitles and explanations exist already. It’s like watching Anime and knowing the whole story while watching it with the subtitles on.
We don't mind the pausing at all. You are digesting the message and lyrics and paying attention. Genuine reaction. As I said before you will love their Cyphers 1-4. I purple you. 💜
Literally one of my favorite bts songs of all time. Love their raw, genuine and passionate lyrics. If you have the time, please react to DDAENG lyrics (with explanation video by dkdktv), Silver Spoon/Try hard, Moving On, UGH lyrics (with explanation video by dkdktv) and their cypher series.
The connection you felt to their words almost made me cry. I’ve been enjoying your journey and how you are so open with how the their words hit home with you. May I suggest Armypedia, one of my favorite BTS performances, it showcases their rap, vocals and a glimpse into their individual personalities. Very chill and laidback setting.
Was so touched but this reaction. Yup this is their core, their beginnings. They continue to be the humble human beings, kindest and authentic. New subscriber here

New subscriber here.....please, never apologize for pausing to absorb or read the lyrics or stating your opinion. Sometimes they rap so fast and it can be really hard to keep up. People who are here to truly see your reaction, won't mind at all. Isn't it amazing to think how far music can spread and influence people. Also, never worry on how long a video is....Army thinks nothing of watching 2-3 hour or longer videos if it is BTS or someone who is showing respect or admiration for BTS. Can't wait to watch more of your journey :)
hip hop tore down barriers within music and between people and within hearts, opened undiscovered geography that artists immediately recognized as home.
Thanks for your reac, but their live perform more awesome with their energy and adrenalin, you can check their live perform BTS hip hop phile live perform
What's insane to me is I was listening to this in 2014 and wondering what other hip hop fans think of this song. I don't know anyone in my circle who grew up with the classic hip hop artists and loves hip hop as much as you. I know, it was quite a different, probably small world I lived in as a child!😂. Fast forward to 2023 and I see so many different types of people appreciating their lyrics for what it truly is, so shoutout to you. It's really refreshing to see your perspective, like I FELT that with every pause you made appreciating and telling how those lyrics resonate to you😂 I learned something too😊 Hip Hop Phile is from their first full-length album in 2014 called Dark & Wild, and it's a great album with different genres of music you might appreciate.
I did not listen to rap at all until l found BTS 7 years ago. I love their rap because it is pure talent and they don’t need any gimmicks or half naked women hanging off them to tell their story.
I think this is probably one of the most honest and greatest reactions of bts I've seen around here. Finally we've got someone giving the love this song deserves!!!!! hell yea man get into the rabbit role u aint never regret it!!!
this boys know how to respect the real hip-hop and they are so talented I really like the rapline they hit defferent. .❤ this group is the best group in humanity. . ❤
You know "why you like that hip-hop shit?" why? How do you explain it more simple and clear than the chorus part... That's how I felt about hip-hop growing up but didn't know how to answer that question
First, we will never be mad about ppl reading lyrics! Pause as much as you need to. Even though I was never deep into rap, the respect they have for the culture is something I've always appreciated about them.
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. My twt moot Angel suggested i check u out. She a new fan of ur BTS reactions. Glad u liked this one. i am a new sub. This one, this reaction made me sub. Love that ur open minded. BTS love rap. All of them heard it nonstop as trainees. Also, ty for praising our sunshine Hobi. He will be going to the military shortly and we hope he will do well. He learned from RM and Suga rap, as well as staff. He learned during trainee period so much later in life. Suga been rapping since HS while RM been rapping since JHS. Jhope is so good. Being a dancer must help I think. I don't mind long vids. Rewind as much as u need. I am not a big rap fan. But with BTS i love it all. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟

The “Suga marry me” comment has become like a joke where even if another member does a live stream alone they get this comment, and when Suga did his birthday live stream the other day, several BTS members commented it too in the livestream comments. 😂🤣💜
If you like Suga just wait till you get introduced to AgustD (who is also Suga)
BTS is a standout in KHH (Korean Hip Hop), in that they *Recognize* that the Artform originated with African American Hip Hop and Rap. They can name the greats and never stop giving credit (and acknowledge when they've overstepped into Appropriation early on).
They were sent to California back early, early for the Reality Series American Hustle Life (gotta hit Dailymotion to get the most complete set of episodes). They did a crash course in the History of West Coast and the Basics.
Respect 🫰🏾❤️🔥
This is such an amazing song also I love how they give tribute to the guys who made hiphop and this shows their hiphop background too
Although j-hope was positioned as a rapper when he debuted, he had never been a rapper in any meaningful capacity prior to that.
The four Cyphers are so cool! Ugh and Ddaeng too. 😎💜
Hip Hop Phile is one of my favourite song from BTS 4th album Wild & Dark.
I would love for u to react to the live performances as well, than you can really see the passion and interaction between the band and the fans... ✌️✌️💜💜
No, the way they write...please do pause. Just means you're locked in and showing them respect. Appreciated this reaction. Looking forward to the next ✊🏽
My Kings👑💜Rm My Fav Rapper👑💜👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
He’s the main rapper for a reason 🔥🔥🔥🔥
this was THE track that made me full on bts army. they get it. love your reactions man!
Hip hop phile is one of my fav song of BTS esp jhope's part.. jhope's verse is the best.. tq for the reaction
Thanks and peace
music brings the world together .....these guys have done a good job of doing that ! mums, dads, kids, grandmas and grandads ! different cultures working together through music. they have done a great job and been an inspiration too many
love your reactions. thank you 💜 more great things still awaiting. hope to see more from you and don’t worry, army’s like long videos when it’s genuine. and we learn from you too )
More to come!
11:39 they took pride of their pen game especially their leader, RM who wrote majority of BTS discographies. Their rap line are talented - RM, AgustD and Jhope. You can checkout their individual and group songs. All are amazing.
I just watched all your BTS reactions and I'm glad you are loving them so far
This song is SO good. it came out in 2014 and one thing that BTS have proved is they making timeless songs because even their old songs still slaps today and I honestly never get tired of listening to their discography and If I someone does, then comeback later and ger obsessed all over again lol
I really love the real love and respect they have for hip-hop, they always pay homage to the artists that inspire them to make their own craft and never really does songs that have a "hip-hope vibe" because it's cool or for popularity.
Knew you’d love this one. BTS is the real deal. Genuine lovers of hip hop. Genuine lovers of music. Passionate artists.
We, Army, love the frequent stopping if it helps you down the rabbit hole. Thank you
This is why I have tons of appreciation towards the rapline because they just deliver raw and genuine lyrics and that shows to the music they put out. Language barrier exist but hey it’s 2023, translations subtitles and explanations exist already. It’s like watching Anime and knowing the whole story while watching it with the subtitles on.
Late night or early mornings it don't matter grind don't stop 💯🔥
Factss💯💯
💯
welcome to the ''bts'' rabbit hole, your journey will be musically amazing.
We don't mind the pausing at all. You are digesting the message and lyrics and paying attention. Genuine reaction. As I said before you will love their Cyphers 1-4. I purple you. 💜
U missed the part when he (suga) said if loving this culture (hip-hop) is a sin,. I will die over a hundred times..
New subscriber here
I love BTS forever and ever 💜
BTS not is a Group of KPop is a Group of the diferent categorías they are tslent in the members songs , sing and dancer BTS is amaizing thenks for this reaction
Thank you for reacting to this 💜💜💜💜
New subscriber here.....please, never apologize for pausing to absorb or read the lyrics or stating your opinion.
My boi bout to level up💯⬆️
Thanks for your great reaction. Please checkout Bts We On. Please...👃👃👃
Thank you for learning about them💜
The song is 🙌🏾🔥🔥 but Rm is my favorite he ate that as expected
you should react to born singer
Thanks for your reac, but their live perform more awesome with their energy and adrenalin, you can check their live perform BTS hip hop phile live perform
Definitely one of my favorite bts songs.
I love their rap because it is pure talent and they don’t need any gimmicks or half naked women hanging off them to tell their story.
appreciate you and the good energy you spread, friend. stay bizzy! and thanks for reacting to our boys, BTS✌💜
check jhope album JACK IN THE BOX is a masterpiece
I think this is probably one of the most honest and greatest reactions of bts I've seen around here. Finally we've got someone giving the love this song deserves!!!!! hell yea man get into the rabbit role u aint never regret it!!!
BTS "Come back Home LIVE 4th Muster" 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
You kept missing the best line for me,
Hip Hop has the scent of humans.
U will love “Born Singer”! 💜
YEEEES, we in here!!!!! Thank you!!!
this boys know how to respect the real hip-hop and they are so talented I really like the rapline they hit defferent. .❤
this group is the best group in humanity. . ❤
You know "why you like that hip-hop shit?" why? How do you explain it more simple and clear than the chorus part... That's how I felt about hip-hop growing up but didn't know how to answer that question
They were teenagers who did understand hip hop so good. Oh I love this song.
i understand the pausing bcs they be speaking so much in such little time 😂😂 glad you gave it a listen!!!!
First, we will never be mad about ppl reading lyrics! Pause as much as you need to. Even though I was never deep into rap, the respect they have for the culture is something I've always appreciated about them.
And live born singer 2022
Yes proof live
Love when you pause, thank you
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏BTS💜💜💜💜
Pause pause pause pause. Soak in the lyrics ;)
Thank you, man! Have a good weekend
Maybe you'll like their Born Singer (cover of Born Sinner) and their recent cover of I'll Be Missing You (in BBC One)

Waiting for the react of the Mixtape of the AGUST D 🔥
Your reaction was fire 🔥
I ' m binge watching all your reactions. I love every second. Next level is : checking their life performance.the last one with a firing Rapline is the concert in Busan 2022 . You have to listen to outro : tear too. they wrote it at a time the pressure was too much and they considered disbanding.
Early BTS was so young and SO GOOD.
I love how much you pause, please don't stop! Their lyrics deserve lots of time to take it in and take it apart.
No we aint mad. We value your perspective it means more when you grew up with it.
You might want to try bts armypedia “live” a reworking of their 3 earliest releases - hip hop, and r n b vices. Proof live and Outro tear live
You will really enjoy watching ther Outro Tear at the Wembley Stadium live performance.
Great reaction. Honestly, the best reaction to this song I've seen. Thank you for the time you took understanding lyrics.
