cardboard is actually fine as long as you just use it for your base. It’s much cheaper and much (depending on the density) sturdier than Eva foam. I used cardboard and lots of frog tape for the base for my springtrap cosplay and it actually works super well.

thats really cool! but be careful! while wearing it you're breathing and breathing makes cardboard wet and when cardboard gets wet it starts developing black mold on it where if you breath it in for long enough it could kill you...! so only where it for like 3-5 minutes!

When you get better materials like foam you should use those, would be a very bad idea to go out in the rain, even if it has fabric.
