@@hayesrutherford9415 yes sir after I saw the production level of the 37D I wanted to get a second commercial splitter before the prices climb to a point I can't justify the buy. With the two machines having interchangeable wedges my choice was quickly narrowed down to the 22-28.
I have a 9-16 with a 4-way and 6-way up for sale. 22-28 is on order. What do you recommend for wedges? I live in the Dallas, TX area.. mainly splitting red oak, live oak, post oak, pecan, & hickory. Right now have the order set with tall 4-way, 5-way box & 7-way box wedges. Think I need the 6-way? I’d hate to have to get a single wedge shipped later on, but i also dont want to to waste money on any wedges that wont work well with the tree service wood i get here
@@MitchellH79 the live oak, pecan and hickory will split best with the tall 4 way for sure. If you get ahold of nice straight smaller sized straight grain wood that splits well the six way would be real nice. The tall 4 way goes down far enough to make it a 2 way or single wedge. I don't believe they make single wedges. I lowered my tall 4 way for a knotty piece today it's a big stout wedge!!
@@MitchellH79 from what I see on other videos it seems like red oak goes through a box wedge pretty well I think. Does it split a lot better than live oak? Less twisted?
@@WellsFirewood yes, absolutely. I messed up and let several loads of live oak rounds sit out in the Texas heat all last summer. Managed to bend up the wings on my 4-way & 6-way for the 9-16. Lesson learned
@@MitchellH79 if red oak is straighter grain and easier splitting the box wedges will definitely speed up production. I can only really use the box wedges on one type of wood that I sell but it makes a world of difference.
New sub here from Vermont man. Dang you can’t beat a 37D
Enjoy !! 👍
@@ShermanLawncareAndFirewoodYes sir the 37D is a beast!! Thanks for subscribing!!
Great machine, maybe in the future you should have an conveyer belt to save on your body. Good luck in the rain
Gotta love the 37D. The only thing I don't like about my 22-28 is its not the 37D!
@@hayesrutherford9415 I'm getting a 22-28 I hope it's a good splitter? Does your machine have the updated 6 second cycle time?
@@WellsFirewood I believe it does as far as I can tell. So you will have both splitters?

@@WellsFirewood Sounds good. I have run some other machines and I like the Eastonmade configuration best.
@@hayesrutherford9415 I agree I would like to see the big All wood splitter with the diesel motor in person though.
Those are also built heavy duty!
