Everything looks so amazing!!! I can’t believe how fast you’ve picked up sewing. The shorts came out so good! Top tip about pants though, the front pattern pieces are actually slightly smaller than the back pattern. If you trace both sides you’ll get that perfect bike shorts fit you want
I always encourage people to try to make their own clothes, as an alterations shop manager. Either you end up with something you like, or you learned a better appreciation for clothing and sewists. My all time favorite customer phrase at work is “well can’t you just...?”. Practice makes progress, and practice takes time, especially with sewing. You’re doing great! 💕✨ oh and not really helpful if you don’t have one, but a serger is the only way to get a real lettuce edge. You can make one like you did on most machines, but investing in a serger (once you have a good sense of machine threading) makes life so much easier.
The baby scissors im 🥺 Edit: omg im at the end i cant BELIEVE (!!) how good the shorts look! You lined up the eva designs perfectly and the FIT of them! I never would have thought of the crotch fix to make them tighter and more like bike shorts. Truly genius, please keep giving me sewing inspo bestie

Love the creativity and ingenuity of all of this. A a seamstress I'm genuinely impressed with how your sewing has improved and I think you explained things quite well. If I may recommend adding notches to your pattern in the future. If you put single notches on one side of the pattern and then double it makes things easier and so you don't need to add the extra step of placing the pattern back over your pieces. It also helps line up your pieces when pinning and sewing. Also would recommend making the back of pants larger then front since you got a booty in back and need more fabric for booty covering.
In the future you should consider starting with a smaller seam allowance like a half inch to not have as much extra fabric too. Love these ideas for things to make! I’m working on my own pair of upcycled shorts from shirts

These are so cute! As a fellow beginner for easy tutorials to follow I recommend the stitchess here on RUclips, she had a video on adding pockets to things that I found super interesting and some fun content where she remakes thrifted items, I love the remake concept using licensed stuff
If you put your tacking pins in horizontal rather than vertical (POV using the machine) then the foot/needle of the machine will run over them a lot easier and you’re less like to accidentally sew a pin :)
I have that white Eva shirt. It is so masculine on me I tie it in the back and fold the sleeves. This is so inspirational!! I might take a page from the qcknd book of up cycling diy! ☺️
