The only things I’ve ever had to replace are tires, wiper blades and filters. It’s by far the best car I’ve ever owned and I’m 78 and have owned over 20 vehicles in my lifetime.
You have no miles. I know people who have had blown motors, Hyundai and kia replaced the motors BC they found it was their fault. 90k miles is no test. Honda and Toyota last way longer
Always love your honest assessment of what the problem is for the repair. Not like any so called mechanics or technicians that charge for unnecessary parts and labor. I had that happen to me and they would not refund me. It was Christian Auto Repair here in Oklahoma City.

The Takata air bag recall wasn't that simple. There was a huge stopgap for those airbags because Takata couldn't produce enough fast enough. My first car was a 1978 Chevy Malibu with a defective transmission. When the transmission started failing Chevrolet would put a brand new, defective transmission in your car. Spin the Roulette wheel to see how many miles yoy could drive 🤪
Dear Scotty---I really enjoy a lot of your videos and joking manner. You obviously work very hard and really do know a lot about cars, the world, economy, history, technology, etc. My electric company (Rockland Electric) charges under 10 cents per kwh. So charging my Tesla 3 cost me $13 last month. I didn't drive a whole lot that month but my cost is usually $20. Of course when using a supercharger as I do on trips the cost can quadruple. My point is I don't think many regions pay 45 cents per kwh at home. Also, no one really has to buy FSD (which now costs 15k). New Jersey also offers rebates and no sales tax so my 2021 model 3 cost me 34k out the door. My cousin. bought the RAV4 Prime and paid 50k for it. Dealers are upcharging on any hybrid and more on plug ins. The model 3 is lots of fun to drive as you pointed out.
Scotty is right! If you value your money, avoid Korean cars. Hyundai quit "supporting" its trouble-prone transmission in my 2009 Santa Fe. Therefore, when the torque converter valve failed in it, the car became immediately worthless: No spare parts and all spares in the junkyards were sold long ago. AVOID HUNDAI!
Scotty I do appreciate you and your videos, but you sound like you are feeling a little under the weather. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Keep the good work up.
Scotty thanks for your sacrifice, research, and teachings. Chevrolet Sonic owner ten years plus. Last GM-Korean! Family and friends are Toyota owners since 1980s! Hopefully next car will be a Toyota!
In this case it probably is just a software fix. It sounds like the clutch isn't fully disengaging and is allowing the clutch to slip. Either way, the parts are probably ruined on anything with real miles on it.
I bought a 2014 kia optima new. It has 195000 miles now. Never have had any serious issues. It had one recall, but I've never had any Trans issues, engine issues etc.I commute 120 miles every day and the car has been very reliable. It's probably on its last legs at this point.but it still runs great and I still get about 30mpg on the freeway. So, I've been very happy with the car.

@@jasonk5979 yeah, the company has issues, no doubt, but as for me, my car has been dependable, economical and a great buy. I'm sure it won't last another 100k, but it's still running great now.

Scott, I have a 2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged with 105,000 miles. It doesn't use any oil (I change every 5,000 miles). The ZF 6 speed transmission has been replaced twice. Any suggestions to keep the tyranny in good operating order even though there is no way to change the fluid?

We hear a lot about going electric from Washington. But I don't hear anything about the non-electric vehicles that are on the road, still being sold? What's the plan about non-electric vehicles? How does Washington deal with so many non-electric vehicles. Especially. Even at 2035. Still will be electric vehicles. What's the plan with electric vehicles? Shouldn't non-electric vehicles also be in this plan? What to do at 2035 about non-electric vehicles? Recycle? Park them on your driveway? What about all the oil and other fluids in them?
Regarding fuel pumps; my '90 TBird has had what I thought was fuel pump failure but I discovered that the vapor recovery system was malfunctioning pulling too much vacuum on the fuel tank. The pump cannot pump in that condition.
Thank you for all the tips, tricks, and valuable info you have provided us over the years. Your humor is also great. Now rev up your tonsils it's the Scotty Kilmer Show.
Take care of yourself Scotty. As subscribers, we want to see you in the future. Take a little time to relax and come back in a few to advice car owners on making better decisions.
I see that Scotty got that Tennessee cough and sore throat bug that been going around here recently. Sure glad i didn't go the cheaper route in 2017 when car buying. Chose the Yaris L 2 door 5 speed. Fantastic car. Constantly gets over 50 mpg @ 60mph on flat roads. Imagine I'd have nonstop problems with the Hyundai and Mitsubishi i was also considering at the tim.
I must be the one lucky mofo who got a good Kia. My 2013 Rio was the best car ever. Drove it like I stole it for 7 years and nothing ever went wrong. No bad circuits, no bad switches, no failed programming, no engine issues, no trans issues, no leaks or squeaks of any kind. Nothing ever went wrong on that car. I replaced a wheel bearing once. Other than that it was oil and brakes and tires and sometimes a bulb. I sold it right after it was paid for.
How many miles? That's the cheapest kia made, and I've known several people who had Hyundai's and kia and their motor blew. And they got a free motor BC it was junk
Every car manufacturer has their issues, the fact that Hyundai makes the cars it does today while Mitsubishi and Nissan are bleeding dry is astounding. I thoroughly enjoy my 7dct Tucson, I have changed the transmission fluid and all fluids for that matter, nothing has shown any signs of unusual wear. Just stay on top of your maintenance, and give new technology a few years before you buy it, I bought mine 4 years after the tech for dct came out to watch for issues.
@some asian guy. Nissan and Mitsubishi are way better than Hyundai KIA. Nissan is improving in quality very fast while Mitsubishi is coming back strong with their new Outlander. Hyundai KIA cars seem to be technologically advanced, but when you strip off all the gimmicks, they are such Yugo's.
The computerized double clutch is a perfect reason why EVs are better in general. So much simpler designs, pretty soon car companies will run away from ICE and gear boxes as they are highly unreliable compared to a electric motor.
I'm telling you. Once your tired of getting your car serviced because you want to look different on the road means nothing. Just like many before you who done this now drive hondas/toyotas.
been through a lot of cars over the years now recently just bought a 4Runner Toyota and my wife is now driving RX 350 Lexus thank you for all your advice loving your videos😁
And they want us all to have, computor electric and driverless cars. At least with diesel and petrol we control the car. Not a computor that does not work correctly. I will stay with petrol and diesel no compuror rubbish . And manual systems i control
Nothing wrong with after market fuel pumps as long as you get a good brand pump. Installed hundreds of pumps except for Airtex pumps all the other ones work just fine.
Quick question. My 2000 Acura TL has hard time to start after some short stops while doing shopping. No check engine light. No codes. Replaced spark plugs and fuel relay to no avail. Checked the idle airport control valve, it's relatively clean but cleaned it anyways. I still have problem starting the engine after some brief stops. Any ideas on what else do I need to look into? Thanks.
Maybe the pin 5 signal ground is a more direct connection to the computer than the chassis ground, where the ground is passiing thru alot of mechanical joints and non wired metal connections that can develop some resistance and make more noise in the system.

This is y i told my old man not to get a kia. Thank God he listened and got a Toyota.
Regarding fuel pumps; my '90 TBird has had what I thought was fuel pump failure but I discovered that the vapor recovery system was malfunctioning pulling too much vacuum on the fuel tank. The pump cannot pump in that condition.
I hope you're feeling better Scotty, you already sound better.
I guess these are like that crap Ford put in those Focus and Fiesta models
Great Content
Thankyou Scotty!
Hope you get well!!!!
My 20 year old Pontiac with a 4-speed auto works just fine. In every way.
Rob ford was a great man don't get that wrong 🙂
Except Hyundai/Kia have multiple class action lawsuits over their Theta II engine fires/failures.
That's not 'every car manufacturer issues'
Hi Scotty I am thinking about getting a tiger 2 tank as my first car. What are your thoughts about it, i heard they were built by Porsche
The computerized double clutch is a perfect reason why EVs are better in general. So much simpler designs, pretty soon car companies will run away from ICE and gear boxes as they are highly unreliable compared to a electric motor.
Christophe Blanchi Electric cars and trucks have there problems too because of there electronics !!
Thanks for your videos!
Hey Scotty, are the gasoline engines in self charging hybrids simpler engines and do they last longer due to light use?
No, Uber Eats will expand into a new line called "Munchies R Us," and deliver those as options.
Perpetual motion machine idea: attach some gears to Scotty's arms.
😂😂😂 Great idea
Scotty Kilmer is the MAN. keep it up. thanks.
Usually you can buy OEM parts from Rockauto for just a small amount more than Chinese parts from the “discount” auto parts store.
Rockauto is amazing
Hey Scotty, what are your thoughts about manufactures recommending 10k miles oil change intervals?
I'm telling you. Once your tired of getting your car serviced because you want to look different on the road means nothing. Just like many before you who done this now drive hondas/toyotas.
Vit D and zinc
been through a lot of cars over the years now recently just bought a 4Runner Toyota and my wife is now driving RX 350 Lexus thank you for all your advice loving your videos😁
And they want us all to have, computor electric and driverless cars.
At least with diesel and petrol we control the car. Not a computor that does not work correctly.
I will stay with petrol and diesel no compuror rubbish . And manual systems i control
Whats the silver thing on the left hand side of the shelf ?
Nothing wrong with after market fuel pumps as long as you get a good brand pump. Installed hundreds of pumps except for Airtex pumps all the other ones work just fine.
Quick question. My 2000 Acura TL has hard time to start after some short stops while doing shopping. No check engine light. No codes. Replaced spark plugs and fuel relay to no avail. Checked the idle airport control valve, it's relatively clean but cleaned it anyways. I still have problem starting the engine after some brief stops. Any ideas on what else do I need to look into? Thanks.
following
Maybe the pin 5 signal ground is a more direct connection to the computer than the chassis ground, where the ground is passiing thru alot of mechanical joints and non wired metal connections that can develop some resistance and make more noise in the system.
Uber Eats robberies….🤣🤣🤣

You can't beat a normal manual transmission with a proper clutch.
Hi Scotty
DCT on cheap cars are never a good combo
Software fixes are just delay tactics hoping the warranty expires before they become legally liable.
