Don't let a leaky sunroof rain on your parade. Diagnose the problem and fix it before it's too late.
Step 1: Consult your owner's manual and warranty
Consult your owner's manual and warranty. Leaks in your sunroof may be covered.
Tip
Follow the instructions in your owner's manual for cleaning a factory-installed sunroof. Different sunroofs require different types of maintenance.
Step 2: Clean the outside of the sunroof
Use window cleaning solvent and a soft cloth to thoroughly clean the outside of your sunroof. Clean the surface as well as the outside parts of the seals.
Step 3: Clean the seals
Open your sunroof. Use a cloth soaked in water to clean the inside parts of the seals as well as the track that the sunroof sits in. Pick out or vacuum away debris from the track or seals.
Step 4: Physically inspect the seals
Carefully inspect the seals, looking for cracks or breaks. Contact the manufacturer or a local repair shop if you see any damage to the seals.
Tip
Be sure to thoroughly dry out a wet car interior to prevent mold and mildew. Use towels to sop up puddles of water and leave your windows or doors open to let the car dry out.
Step 5: Check tracks in drive system
Check the tracks in the cable drive operating system if you have a tilt-and-slide sunroof. Remove debris and wipe the tracks and cable with a cloth to remove dirt and other build-up.
Step 6: Test leak
Close your sunroof and pour a small amount of water over the top to find out if the cleaning fixed the leak. If not, take your car to a professional for repair. Clean your sunroof on a regular basis to keep it in top shape.

Agree, I watched a RUclips video of a sunroof repair on a 1998 Celica. It was good and worked for me because our leak was in the drains and floor of the car.

***** Sunroofs and moonroofs have 4 drains in each corner. You have to open the roof fully or remove the glass to access all drains. Look for 4 holes and pour some water in. If it doesn't drain away immediately or slowly, it's Best to try to vacuum out the clog or use a strong vinigar such as "Braggs" to dissolve it over time and not cause decay to the drain tubes. Using compressed air, forced water, or jamming a cable/ wire down it can work and can cause the drain to disconnect and then you will have to take out the headliner to reconnect, use discretion. Any other problems concerning not closing properly take it to shop a body/ collision shop or dealership they will generally have more experience in dealing with sunroofs. Damn, why would you keep this video posted after the thrashing you got in the comments? Also, for anyone who actually wants to fix their leaking sunroof, check the sunroof drains to see if they're clogged. They're normally in one (or more) of the sunroof's corners.

wasted my time on this garbage. Absolute useless information. They forgot first 7 steps: Step 1 find your car keys, step 2, unlock the car door, step 3 put key in ignition, step 4, make sure you got the right car key, step 5, read step 1 to 4, step 6 make sure your car is in park. And step 7, check to see if your car has a sunroof.
