My neighbors are Macedonian...orthodox christians...good people...they bring me typical Macedonian food...and Macedonian honey and mountain herbs for tea when they have been on vacation to Macedonia...
Lovely to be back in Europe again with you all. I didn't count the statues you will have to let me know how many there were. Such a fascinating place, thank you . Kiwi from Virginia.
Old town and old market place. Thats medieval town with baths guesthouses and marketplace Clock Tower etc. Some of the churches were turned in to mosques during the Ottoman Empire era, thats why it looks like in present Turkey. Most of the Guesthouses( hotels) and baths (spa centers) are turned in to art galleries and Art University facilities. While the citadel uphill is actualy part of the preserved city walls. There was a whole town with palaces churches market nobel houses fountains same like you see in movies with knights kings princes etc. It was knocked down after the big earthquake 1963.
The sculptures you see all around are Macedonian rich historical heritage. Some of them like the ones on the Art bridge are world famous painters writers and musicians. You should visit the museums philharmony and theater performances, also visit churches that you see at these sights. Go to the millennium cross up hill, its built in honor of 2000 years Christianity in Macedonia. I recommend you all the malls and shopping centers in the city. They've got lots of good clothes goods food and beverages.
Hi Patton fams, I lost count at 33 😂 Gorgeous statues and the street lamps my neighbour has them up his driveway and when it's foggy it reminds me of an old movie scene from Dracula🧛🏻♂️ Chloe and her random dancing and she's still like that 😁 have a beautiful day Patton fams.
Counting those which are shot from different angles, 164, plus/minus 30. Included small ones on sides of buildings. Can't wait to hear the correct answer. We love watching each week. PS my name is James Charles. Haha Chloe
If teachers of world-geography school classes would ever use GUWB videos as a 'special day' treat for their classes, then the background text description under the 'SHOW MORE' compliments the audio-visual video. It is helpful to the understanding of the video portion. It's a good idea.
The city area is 0.5 million people plus suburbs its around 0.8m. And people mostly live in the houses, you need a car to drive around. The apartment buildings you see are only down town and yes some 25-30% of the people live there. Majority of the people lives in houses.
Amazing video 👍 Just loved it. Mother Teresa was such a compassionate personality. BTW there's a very sad news from India that COVID cases in my state are increasing in numbers and that means that I have to stay in home and do online classes for a long time again 😣😣😣 And Happy Birthday to Chloe☺ Have a nice day ❤
Glad you enjoyed the video and so sorry to hear that you will need to stay in for longer. This seems to be the way it’s going in many countries. Hang in there...it will eventually get better.
Fun fact about those million statues is that 90 % of them are created after North Macedonia get independence from former Yugoslavia in the 90-is . Many people saying they overdid it .
So many statutes bet you guys can not count them stature number is infinite, definitely impossible to count from the distant photo view enjoy your travel
I counter 213 statues in this video.. I counted the ones i saw in the introduction sequence .. :) But i am sure i missed some of the ones in the background of the video.. And that flash sequence of different shorts as you where crossing the bridge had me pausing time and time again to count each statue in each frame.. So making it hard for us poor viewers grrrr 😳 😊
Hey, you guys have not uploaded a video for a while. I hope you guys are well and can you guys tell me a little bit about your future vlogs that will be coming and really excited for your upcoming videos . Stay Safe ❤
Please dont call our country North Macedonia. It is insulting to us and that pollitically pressured name is not our natural and inheritted name. It is Macedonia.
Moi je nai plus envie de voyager bien avant le covid c beaucoup de contraintes pour pas grand chose surtout les tranports et leur contrôles ca me fatiguait énormement
Yes but only for dinner in Pristina so a very short visit and it was raining so we didn’t think it’s enough to make a video. We’ll have to go back again.
North Macedonia is Albanian land & Shkupi was built by Albanians over 2,000 years ago. YES - Mother Teresa is Albanian which unfortunately you forgot to mention it. All those "new" statues of Shkupi (Skopje) were build with Albanian tax payers money. I hope you enjoyed your stay at Ilirida (North Macedonia.)
All the guesses for the statue count contest were close but not quite there. Here's a hint. It's above 60 and below 120. 😉
Macedonia is Greek
