    The lid not getting a cover lining on the bottom really ruined the video for me lol. Even if the costumer asked me not install one I'd do it free of charge to give myself peac of mind...

    A simpler method would have had to been done in the console fabrication stage. Construct the console with the top plate a separate piece simply held in place by blind pins, so much easier & forgiving to cover those pieces separately as this method would require more skill. At the same time, much more flexibility & easier to service in the future.

    how do you get the basting tape not to goo up your needle when sewing?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  4 года назад +4

      Basting tapes have a tendency to leave a gum residue on the needle when sewing. Although a well-adjusted machine should not be affected, run the needle through a bar of Ivory soap to help prevent build-up or use a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol to keep the needle clean. Many professionals use a thread lubricant, like Sewers Aid, on a cloth pad clipped over the upper thread in the machine or a device like the Magnetic Oiler to keep a consistent coating of lubricant on the top thread.
      Use basting tape even for simple projects. All adhesive basting tapes help to reduce puckering from sewing and also make seams more waterproof.

    What does something like this cost to get done?

    • @jimbob3708
      @jimbob3708 3 года назад

      To wrap? Maybe $250? That's what I'd charge, but I'm probably low. To make everything and wrap it? Probably more like $500.
