I love Greg saying "such as shame we have to take his first attempt" on the Hula task, as if he wasn't some kind of patriarchal taskmaster who can dish out points exactly as he chooses!
Even taking his first attempt, he should have gotten the point, because Phil got *much worse* than 57 seconds, whereas James's first attempt on stage was almost identical to his first attempt at the Taskmaster house. In this case, no change at all *was* the best improvement, ergo James wins the point.

You know, the funniest bit James does is how he just ignores Alex at the start of tasks. Everyone else says hi back to Alex, but James just walks past him in silence and reads the task hahaha
When you rewatch the episode, it's a little longer and more insistent, and you hear him protesting too. The frisson is delicious 😋 EDIT: nope, just listened on headphones, you can hear him pleading "don't" 🥰
The look of confusion and concern that came over Greg’s face when James called him a pussy is the single greatest moment of Taskmaster history and the exact look a teacher would do 😂
Gotta say, I've seen most of these clips numerous times over the last couple years, but it took me until this viewing to notice that James was using a banjo as a drum. LOL
For the pairs of glasses, it didn't say all the glasses had to be in the box at the same time, just that they all had to fit in the box with the lid closed. You could interpret it that each of the pairs of glasses could be placed in the box with the lid closed, then removed and do the same for the next pair and so on. So that all the pairs of glasses can fit in the box, and they all are able to do so with the lid closable.
Taskmaster single handedly got me through the pandemic. And Acaster is the master of the show imo. Love him SO much! I never would've even known this show existed without him. 😍
I wish that you included later in the episode during on of Rhod's task where James asked for the weeks of his life back that he spent learning how to hoolahoop
Can't believe they didn't include James losing his shit about the team task with Rhod where they were supposed to build a expansion to the house. Funniest moment in any season of taskmaster as far as I'm concerned.
Just beautiful comedic reflexes on display. Greg saying "this is going to be good old telly, 'in it?" definitely sounded like inviting someone to run a bit if they liked, and I believe James made what is known as a "Big Choice". Maybe *too* big, but Greg ran with it so well, definitely changed a "shorten this in edits" moment to an "in every greatest hits compilation" moment.
In the first clip Alex is laughing until he sees Greg starting to get up and take his glasses off, then he immediately seems to panic, grabs his arm, and goes "don't don't don't". I think he was genuinely scared Davies might actually hit him or something. He is sitting down 90% of the time so we forget that he is an absolute unit of a man.
James is easily one of the funniest comedians out there today. I feel like he should be WAY better known here in the states despite being British. Absolutely hilarious, 10/10 every time I see him
British humor rarely translates to the American general public, Ben Stiller tried making Richard Ayoade a thing in the States and it didn't work, which is a shame

Ok getting kinda real here but this is just why I overall love James Acaster, his work, and just a lot of things he’s involved in I don’t know I just relate to him so much, or at least his persona, I’m not sure what he’s like irl but I’ve heard a few clips from interviews and I know he’s not like… like this and how he is in his specials. He seems like he constantly has no clue what’s happening, but just trying his best to act like he does, and desperately failing, and when people make him realize that he’s not “normal” he tries to correct them and act like he knew what was happening all along, even though, yet again, no one buys it. And in his Netflix special(s) this seems to all confuse and terrify him and it just leads to a big outburst, and a breakdown, which is how I feel now in life, I’m just stuck, I’m overwhelmed by everything, I don’t understand anything that’s happening around me, and I can’t knock off this feeling of dread and constantly feeling like I’ll have a meltdown at any second, and watching someone have that similar experience, even if it might just be a persona, is incredibly comforting and relieving, and I can’t thank Acaster enough for making me feel seen and like my life isn’t completely separated from everyone else’s, that there are people who experience what I do, and that it’s fine to
