    hi nice video!!! do you reuse the same tensioners? and one more questions, what was the fault code on this one?? Thanks!!

      Sometimes it sets fault code sometimes not but the symptom is delayed starting or rattling noise

      @@MercedesBenzTipsTricks hello is it harmfull to keep driving like this with cam adjuster that rattle when cold and 3 second start
      Hope hearing from you

      @ilialak5378 the rattle (hammering) will first lead to the camshaft reluctor wheel shifting and a resultant check engine light, eventually the adjuster will completely fail and the camshaft misalignment will then damage the engine.

    What will happen if you put intake adjuster on exhaust and exhaust on inrake? If you switch them up?

    • @kafklatsch3198
      @kafklatsch3198 11 месяцев назад

      Actually, they are pinned (pin holes) and can not be swapped..... HOWEVER... one could swap them if you dont recognize that they are not seated against the camshaft but instead sitting ON/AGAINST the camshaft pins. This would be disastrous because the adjuster would slip relative to the camshaft and destroy the engine. The pin engagement locks them together. The pins holes are different on each adjuster..hence swapping is not possible with the right knowledge

      I replaced the chain and adjusters and everything at a dealershop. However the engine check lamp sonetimes turn on and off. Do you know what the problem could be?

      @@HampusEk-kh1mn yes, the ticking at startup is actualling "hammering" we just call it engine ticking. The reluctor wheel on the camshaft is press fit on to the camshaft ( ridiculous). The hammering adjuster caused the reluctor wheel to shift off of its original position. So the camshaft sensor is now reading incorrectly. When they replaced the adjuster, but did not check the reluctor wheel ( 53 degree timing check after repair), you are now left with a camshaft thats just "off" position just enough to trigger the Check Engine Light. If the adjuster is fixed, its possible it will remain slightly off indefinitely. BUT NOTE,if you had left the bad adjuster long enough, it would have shifted the reluctor whhel enough that the check engine would have been lit full-time permanent until fixed.... so basically your camshaft was not addressed when the repair was done.. and its off by just enough for intermittent check engine light......i re-adjusted my reluctor and locked it with loctite 638 when replacing my adjusters.. only 1 of 4 needed adjustment ( or a new camshaft)
