Intonation on the 8000 dollar guitar is perfect
For me both sounds similar
The difference in price makes the difference in the vibes that guitar brings rather than the sound that we hear.
Yamaha got the nuance sounding, the Taylor got the nuance and the brilliance of the other accompanying strings as well.
Yamaha is like Shure sm58, got it all covered perfectly. If you need more brilliance, and just some deep tone in the voice, go for Neumann TLM102.
But overpaying another $7,700 when you can also get the brilliance from Yamaha if you have 2 layers of same guitar. Of 2 person playing same guitar, with different strings, acoustic / classic & normal metal strings 😮
Edit: I quickly listened to this short from my Mackie audio monitors. Yes I was fine with what I wrote. Years of ear training with monitors/ studio monitor speakers are worth it.
Go for the Yamaha. It's worth it.
Unless you have the money, go for Taylor.
Nothing wrong with both or having both
The 8000 one has better sound projection , just because it has another well angled hole in the cutaway portion!.. apart from that both are literally the same !. Maybe phosphor bronze strings on that Yamaha will match it 100% with the Taylor
Gotta hear it in person
Get rosewood bridge pins and a bone nut and saddle. It’s not too expensive and Makes a world of difference on cheap guitars
The 8000 dollar one gives a "cash register" kind of sound
