Beyoncé celebrates blackness, black women hood and black family, something Mona’s can’t do. Family, black man and Black woman. Not this promotion of black lesbianism that is set out to destroy the black family.
Dirk Visser this is how black people have felt for centuries. Just embrace that they're finally starting to get the appreciation they deserve or piss off x
If an old fart may expand on that, she's one of the most interesting voices in a couple of generations. Remember that a lot of the real artists aren't appreciated for a dammed long time into their career, and sometimes not until after their own passing. Ms Monae has a clear artistic voice and a unique delivery that is deeper than pop music. It may well take a generation more to fully grasp what she's doing with her artistry, time needed for thorough analysis. Let's not forget that she was mentored at least partially by Prince, who is no longer with us, and he himself is worthy of academic study, that's how deep and profound his legacy goes... and she is, to my estimation, the clear front runner to take his legacy and expand on it. Far and away his most apt pupil, she also has attributes he didn't possess, a vulnerability he struggled with she has run headlong into. Dirty Computer is an amazing album, at once timeless, and yet specific to its era. That's some Bob Dylan shit right there, and she's still young with a long career in front if her. She's also a damned fine young actress, which is further testament to her artistry. Beyonce and Mary J have done movies, but I would hesitate to call them art

James Thomas l thought the same thing
Thought of Jidenna straight away watching this.
That flow has jidenna written all over it! I wouldn’t doubt that he wrote it or @ least helped. Either way...I love it!
Erin B Wrong! Janelle been rapping.. and with this flow. She raps at the end of "Q.U.E.E.N" just like this
Janelle Monae put Jidenna on...she brought him on into the wondaland fold. Iron sharpens iron

"mama was a g she was cleaning hotels, papa was a driver I was working retails" God Bess the good people who suffered for us.
Why in the world do we black folk have to fight EVERY DAMN BATTLE BY OURSELVES , I have to fight 4 battles :
1. My color (my peanut butter complexion )
2. My gender
3. My athleticism ( bcoz I’m a female society says it’s taboo for black women to be athletic )
Oh and I thought of a secret one
4. MY INTROVERTED INTELLECTUALISM ( just coz I’m quiet doesn’t mean I don’t HAVE A VOICE )
And those 4 are just the nice ones I CAN THINK OF
This has to be the most gorgeous music video in existence. From the lighting to the fabric to women themselves, the overall aesthetic is rich and breathtaking!
TheCandymusiclover I liked the Moroccan theme for Janelle
We said
Well said
“Arch-Android Orchestrated...” nostalgic feels. 😍🙌🏽😍
This stay on repeat, can't wait for Dirty Computer
I see you on all the songs I listen to. I appreciate your music taste my dude
I'm ready to vote for her as Queen of Everything.
We needed this. We need her. There is no box or label powerful enough to contain her. Keep bringing it Janelle. Fear no more.
My wig was wiped from the existance of the MULTIVERSE. IT NEVER EXISTED.
A l l e g e d l y my Wig flew to the after life and flew again

Shade Marin yassssssss my fellow black queen yasssssssssss
Shade Marin Yesssss
Shade Marin that's right Empress!
This my 2018 anthem! Representing for the black queens!
And we're only going up from here ❤
WHEN SHE SAID QUE THE VIOLINS AND VIOLAS I SCREAMED OMG YES
ania and she walked off effortlessly
I don't get the reference... :$ could you explain pls ?
Pauline Mellet it's a reference to how to get away with murder actress Viola Davis
Violin & viola as in the music instrument but the line before that she referenced getting away with murder no scandal (as in the TV shows) with Viola Davis being the lead on How to Get Away with Murder. Her word play is insane! :)
Okay, i see now, thanks a lot ;) (i'm not an english native, so sometimes i don't get all the references, anyway thank you ;) )
She is the G.O.A.T of her genre....we love you Janelle....
💯🔥🔥🔥👌🏾
“Running out of space on the damn bandwagon, remember when they said I looked too mannish?” Woo shit drag everyone
"For the culture I'll kamikaze" Janelle dropped bars like she was running with some Xaney's. KC is in the palace with champagne in the chalice!
Universal Stylez 🗣 oK!!!!
