You are so inspiring, Jillian! This video is just what I needed today. I'm in the midst of a commissioned piece as we speak, and I always find myself trying to create something that I "think" the client wants as opposed to going fully into my own style and following my intuition. I need to remember that clients choose me because they already like my style. Anytime I've approached a project with this in mind, the result has been so much better. I've even given clients multiple options to choose from, and they always choose the one that is the most "me" as opposed to something more simple that I created just because I thought that's what they wanted. I've been so stuck on my current project, and I'm going to use your advice to guide me and help refocus my efforts to create something from my heart and not worry so much about the outcome. Thank you for sharing yourself with us!❤
This is so beautiful Jillian. I admire you so much for all you can handle : classes, workshops, commission work, social media, painting, filming, editing...and of course what's more important raising a family. As for me, I would be so scare to do commission work!

Oh Jillian this is incredible. Absolutely my favorite piece you have ever shown. This is simply stunning. I have come to know you and your art and THIS right here is the type that makes me stop in my tracks and feel a sense of calm wash over whatever I am in the middle of doing. I haven't been able to paint lately and that is a first, since I started this journey. Trying to get admin stuff done for the hopes of generating income from creating has been an around the clock job I did not foresee. I miss it so much that a part of me feels a little lost. Watching this reminded me of WHY I am working so hard. Truly inspiring Jillian. Thank you for paving the way for so many of us and showing us that all the work will be worth it. Love this so, so much.

I don’t think I could cope with the pressure it seems far to scary and I would be worrying all the time that they might not like it. Ha ha. I could hardly watch you doing the lettering. What if you made a mistake after doing all the painting. Wow your brave
Hahaha the lettering part was the scariest thing for sure! That's why I had to pencil it in and even then I still have nerves wondering if I might smudge parts of it by accident or jerk. There is a lot of pressure for sure. Thank u for noticing!
Which watercolor inks did you use for this beautiful painting?

Hi Jillian, your Brush Movement member here. I was just wondering why you would use inks for this commission piece knowing that they are not lightfast. Did you eventually treat it with a spray or place it underneath UV protective glass of the frame?
I love this question. Actually these were aqua drops by schmincke which are lightfast ;) and yes after the painting session I also spray with fixative and recommend frame with UV.
Ahh, I should have known 😊. I need to take out my Aqua Drops and play with them again. Thanks.
