As i life long Lions fan, i can tell you the reason the Campbell played the starters in the Niners game. He inherited a 40+ year losing culture. The only way to defeat that mindset is by winning. It doesn't matter how "important" the game is, they are all the same. Every game is a must win. Dan Campbell has undone 40 years of damage in three seasons, has to be coach of the year.

I've been A Proud Detroit Lions fan since they played at Tiger Stadium. I have never ever seen A Hierarchy such as this in Motown. That's really where the true success began. President Sheila Ford Hamp was "advised" to dump HC Campbell and his staff when they started off slow. To her amazing credit President Sheila Ford Hamp said that she liked him and had a "gut" feeling that he would succeed. Let's not forget GM Brad Holmes and his amazing staff. They BUILT this roster meticulously and now we see why. Most teams would have never recovered from losing their best defensive player as is DE Aidan Hutchison. What "Hutch" brought to brought to the defense can't be measured, yet The Lions continued success. The Lions will get to The Super Bowl this year. It's finally "Our Time".

The Vikings I think needed the loss to get that reset. A long winning streak you can lose your determination and drive. KOC will get them regrouped for Monday Night. They won’t experience that home-field advantage in LA. But Sam has got to get settled and he easily gets frenetic

It was not like Detriot was doing something special, it looked like Sam had a bad night. I thiking Vikings will show up against Rams!

@@Eddie-ol9cv Detroit has been viewed as best team in the NFC all season long - they were the pre-season favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. The Vikings are not going to see better teams in the playoffs. Not to mention, the Lions beat the Vikings in a walk off FG in their 1st meeting. They were within One Score of the Lions until the 4th Qtr last night. I see last night's game as a positive. KOC did not anticipate that a team would play Cover 0 and play his WR corp in man coverage to try to take away their deep passing attack. Now, he can prepare a game plan to counter that Before the playoffs begin.

I've lived in Spain since 1971, but before that I was in Detroit for three years. That's where I look back to when I think of my childhood in the States. Only once did I watch the Lions playing live, at Tiger Stadium. It was early in the 1970 season and we lost to the Bengals. Who knows? Maybe my Lions can pull it off this year. The defense against the Vikings was huge, in spite of all the injuries. It would be funny if three NFC North teams made it to the divisional round. As I said, I cannot foretell the future. In the other conference, we could even see three AFC West teams in the divisional round.
