This movie really encapsulates loneliness. I think in some ways, a lot of people can relate to Travis Bickle. Not the murderous/anti-hero way, but someone who just doesn't fit in with society.
@@Kova-ow2en no it's not like to serve someone to fulfill a purpose, it's that to serve to the society as a broader societal purpose (like he tend to eradicate corruption, disorganised streets problem, prostitution..) so that for long at last you'd be recognised, validating you as a part of the same.
Also a lot of men can relate to living in an age of emasculation. Masculinity is dying and often shunned and it leaves men feeling unfulfilled. He fought in nam and after risking his life for his country he is only waiting to die as his society has no use for him anymore, unless he takes matters into his own hands..
I love the cinematography in this movie. Every scene is a masterpiece itself. I know it is just a dirty 70s New York but the neon light and slow music make the whole movie beautiful.
I can’t think of one shot in this movie that is less important than another. Everything in this movie feels so literal and so figurative. I don’t know how to explain it but I often finding myself reading so deep into this movie and Travis and this and that, and I have to remind myself constantly that this is a story holding nothing back and there isn’t more to read into. Everything you need to know is shown to you directly and indirectly. But it’s all there and that’s why I feel so many people can find personal connections to this movie.
You can't escape it, when you've been depressed and alone for so long that life starts to sound like "that's it bro, I'm so cooked and so screwed up it doesn't hurt anymore" this song hits the hardest when you're most alone in 2 years than a needle in a haystack. so real
