    hello Hughes & Kettner. always loved your spirit and perspectives relating to amp design and architecture. just want to know if the clean channel is useable for modern blues (round sound for Gutherie Govan style as an example) i really love the dirt channels bu the way thank you in advance

    • @HughesandKettneramps
      @HughesandKettneramps  7 лет назад

      Hi Bellili, and thanks! Yes, we'd say the clean channel will get you to modern blues sounds, no problem - just crank the gain as much as you need :) Actually we'd love Guthrie to try one of our amps too!

    • @hichembell9972
      @hichembell9972 7 лет назад +1

      it would be really peasant to have more clean sound clips with solos and phrasing in your demos. I mean if that sounds great it will be amazing to hear it on the reviews along with all those crunch and high gain clips. Yes I would love to hear govan playing with this amp I would buy it for sure... i have another question which intrigues me and which relates to the price - im not criticizing im interested and want to understand- those amps seems little bit more priced than other 4 channels valve amps : is the technology inside expensive or ??

    • @HughesandKettneramps
      @HughesandKettneramps  7 лет назад

      Thanks for the feedback! Well, thinking about all the features and sounds of the Switchblade, we always thought the price was fair. It had the bexst technology available back when it came out. Of course these days something like GrandMeister Deluxe beats it though. We'll start working on Guthrie soon, wish us luck ;)

      I'm still impressed about the switchblade especially about the classic sounds it is able to deliver. I think the deluxe edition have a more authentic sound ...still amazing to take that signature sound for authentic playing... the combo Guthrie+ hughes would be amazing and I hope to see it soon , even if from what I have noticed , he is the kind of amazing musicien who plays on mono canal amps.

      You're right, the Switchblade is an incredibly versatile amp, We really recommend you have a go on GrandMeister Deluxe too though - this is more like a Switchblade for 2017! We'Re going to try Guthrie - even if he's normally playing other things, we can still try it ;)

    Hi Thomas i just bought a switchblade used and wanted to retube it. I didnt see the TSC on back for autobias. Do i need to take it to a repairman or can just pop them in this model? production date says 2006 Thanks

    • @HughesandKettneramps
      @HughesandKettneramps  8 лет назад

      +Shane doss Hi Shane, H&K here (not Thomas! He's not working with us any more ;) ). If there's no TSC on the back, you would need to get a tech to bias/match/fit the tubes for you.

    I've seen one of these at a great price. I may take the leap and have it.

    • @HughesandKettneramps
      @HughesandKettneramps  8 лет назад

      Go for it! If it's a great price you can always sell it on again afterwards if you don't get on with it, but we're hopeful you will of course ;)

      I've got a Matrix 100 and that's a great amp, but doesn't throw the sound live. Am I right to say that the Switchblade is virtually a valve version of the Matrix?

    • @HughesandKettneramps
      @HughesandKettneramps  8 лет назад

      We know what you mean - they are indeed pretty close to each other apart from the tube/non-tube aspect...

      Picked one up today. Play time tomorrow!

      Seem to have a midi problem now. The footswitch doesn’t seem to change the amp channels. Is their a fix for it?

    hi ...I have a question : is it possible to put 6l6 on the switchblade ??

    • @HughesandKettneramps
      @HughesandKettneramps  7 лет назад

      Yes, sure, if you have the Switchblade TSC model! There is a bigger explanation in the manual here (check the Tube Safety Control sections): home196653653.1and1-data.host/oma/huke/manual/Switchblade_TSC_bda_low.pdf

    Just a shame H&K only make a 50 watt combo and not a 50 watt head.
