I went through this last year. Procedure was smooth,no pain at all (aside from the dextrose and general anesthesia of course). The only pain I felt was the drawback I got from the anesthesia, it was so nauseous I vomited 5x on the way home. Outpatient procedure so it's really good. Fasting is needed, take a laxative a day before... This would hurt without the anesthesia, I woke up in the middle of the procedure and it felt like I was being kicked on the side by a giant man!

I just had this procedure done a week ago. I came out of it a little sore, but nothing compared to the pain of a stone. By all means don't be scared about this procedure, it's non-invasive and very accurate.

@nickolaihammar Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I'm scheduled for next Friday and was wondering if there was gonna be a lot of pain afterward. But soreness I can take (as opposed to the pain my 6x9m stone has been giving me lately).

@JeanaDylan83 Would you please share your experience with me. Was it painful? Did you need any followup treatment? Were there any side effects? I am planning to go thru the surgery this month. I greatly appreciate your comments! Thank you.

Going in Tuesday to have this done on my right kidney, again had about 40 surgeries in the last 6 years, got to go again in a few more weeks to have my left done. Nothing to this at all.

With Lithotripsy, having your kidney stones has never been easier an with lesser discomfort. Patients who will be undergoing this procedure should never be afraid of this procedure.
