Just wanted to give you a huge thank you for this video. We bought this exact model based on your review and installed it without any issue. Installed it in a concrete wall over a mantel.
Well done very clear. I ended up buying a sound bar bracket from same manufacturer so the sound bar comes down with it instead of blocking it. Made me less nervous to install. I'm going to try these adapter brackets since my studs aren't center to TV. We'll see how that goes 🤞🏼😬
Thank you for detailing the installation process, this made it much easier for our purchase! One quick question. Do you feel the table they provide in the manual (the one that states how high to mount the TV based on the mantel depth) is accurate? Or do you feel it overestimates how high to mount the TV? Thanks again!
Thank you for the wonderful review. This is by far the best video on this mount. My studs arent centered, however I have horizontal wooden beam/stud all along the fireplace, so the bottom screws will go to these studs. The upper holes arent aligned to any studs. Can I use toggle bolts for those? or drill a hole in the plate to attach it to stud directly?
Honestly, to be safe, I would try and hit a stud. Toggle bolts are great, but the force of going out and down would probably, over time, lead to possible failure of the connection. Just my guess.
Is there a minimum height required from the mantle to the ceiling? Let's say TV height with soundbar (assuming its attached to bottom of TV with brackets) is 30.5 inches and mantle width is 8inches and the space above fireplace to the ceiling is only 32inches.. Will it fit and have enough clearance to come down?
How close does tv get to mantle when coming down? I have a low ceiling not sure this comes out far enough before going down.. your situation is a bit different, I have a 10" mantle and only have 2"s of play with tv. Not concerned with going to the lowest setting, don't need to, but idk if I can make the swing with such little space
When your following spacing chart for how high off mantel to install you won’t have a problem. Mine misses by several inches. The support arm that rotates down, when down, is about 1 inch above my soundbar
I have a question, my inset on the wall over the fireplace is 15”. So the Vivo will have to clear 15”. I see you have to have at least 13” the vivo must clear. Should I build the wall out by 2” for the mount? Or is there another mount that can extend beyond 15”? Thanks Jim
What i like about this mount is you do not see the mount at all when the tv is full up or down. I am not aware of a mount that goes out that far. My initial idea would be build it out 2”. That would be a 2x4 (1.5 inches) w maybe 1/2” or 3/4” mdf to “cover” it. Grab some black spray paint and ur good to go. Make sense? I have had this over a year and still love it
Where there is a will there is a way! That being said, I don't believe there is a "manual" option to move mount. I have had mine now for almost two years no issues with 100's of articulations in that time.
Looking to get this mount with a 70 inch TV but my wall has one stud in the middle of the wall so the two studs on either side are too far for attaching. I was reading about using snap toggle bolts in all four corners and maybe a few more. Do you think this would hold it???
Wanted to get home and check to see if there was a centered hole on mount. There is…so you could do one bolt into wood and the rest toggle bolts. No guarantees but probably would work
Install level. If it looks off, i don’t believe there is a mechanical level option. Sounds simple, but on other mounts i have put small paper wedge under hooks that secure tv to mount. I did not have to do this on mine. It’s pretty darn level.
Eventually… Probably all of those. Meant to be indoor. That being said TVs in general are meant to be indoor too. If you live in a very humid climate, I guarantee you it probably wouldn’t last long. I live in Phoenix where it’s really dry so isn’t really an issue.
Hey there! Awesome video mate top notch thanks to you I’m thinking of buying it! Just a question.. instead of the TV going all the way down can I stop it to where I like it? I’m thinking of installing it above a 500mm deep gaming desk that I have with 2 monitors. So the idea is for it to be up while I’m gaming and once I’m ready to go relax I want to bring it down past the monitors and for it to stop at my desired height? Wondering if that’s possible! The desk is also 750mm off the ground to the top of the desk and from top of desk to top of ceiling I have 1600mm left not sure if you need them specs to tell me easier but yeh! Thanks mate 🙌
Great video! I was very interested in getting one of these. You may want to change the volume at the start of the video vs the end of the video. The start of the video blasted my ears so loud then you were normal/room level voice.
Do you ever watch the tv in the "up" position? I read it can not be angled in up position. I've talked to some with manual like monoprice you had previously and lots of said they rarely put it down. I'm getting OLED so good viewing angle even while up, but just curious about your mileage.
We have this mount and installed yesterday. When the tv raises back to the high position it tilts to the right. We’ve tightened the bolts on plates and arms. When it lowers it levels out about halfway down and is perfectly level the rest of the way. Any ideas?
Wow very strange. I would say you can “shim” when it tilts but that would be annoying. Could it be possibly a hung up cord causing it to tilt slightly when it’s up? Honestly, that’s the only thing I could think of besides given the company a call and seeing if they have a solution.
Hi, thanks for the video! After all this time, does the mount still work? :) Could you please measure (when in Up position) distance between top stud (on the wall) and top of the plate where TV latches on? Thanks!!
Apologies… Totally forgot. When you say measure top stud and top of the plate… Not sure what you mean. Sorry I’m just rereading your earlier question. You want distance from wall to plate on tv…the gap between the two?
@@how2q no worries :) not exactly. When the mount is in up position I need a vertical distance between point of top VESA mount bolts and the top of the mount (where you bolt it to the wall)
Again...apologies for late reply. My tv goes from 79.5" (center) to 59". More like 20". Surprising because, viewing wise, it feels like a lot more. This mount makes a big difference. Still happy with it after a year or so of ownership
Any chance you could tell me the vertical distance from the top of the arm (at its home position) to the very bottom of the bracket? I am trying to determine if there is enough vertical space in my recess box for it to fit the arm length.
We are not “audiophiles” so to us it really doesn’t make a difference. I believe in the description of this video i left link for an attachment to include soundbar in setup
If you have the TV swiveled/angled when in the down position, then hit OK to raise it back up (without manually setting back to parallel), what happens? Will TV straighten out? Thanks so much for this video, it's extremely helpful.
Installed this last week and actually mine straightens out when it comes back up. It starts to straighten itself about halfway through. Highly recommend this mount!
How much horizontal play is there? my studs are not centered over the fireplace where I want to put the tv so the mount will offset to the right and I will need to mount the TV then slide to the left. Also does this have any effect on the lift capabilities if everything is not centered perfectly.
Sorry for delay…so my mount is centered on TV. Have about 4 inches of give either side. I would call manufacturer. Physically you could be offset 4 inches. Wondering if the off balance “torque” would be ok…meaning can tv mount handle tv that is off center. Hope that makes sense.
154 if u have 24" spacing go buy 1x2 steel square tube paint it, mount 1x2 tube to tv mount then mount tube to studs. Use flush mount studs from back of 1x2 with nylocks to mount to tv mount or use rivnuts.
huge thanks for this video. i have similar setup with sonos bar. however, my fireplace is a corner fireplace and it's about 20inch deep. any suggestions. also would i'd like to mount my sonos bar under the TV
Just remember big limiting factor is the 16 inch on center studs needed. If they are at 16 inches apart you can always use two by fours stretched across your studs to mount it. I would then probably cut 1/2” mdf to cover.
@@how2q I’m moving into a new house, so I’ll see about the studs. How far out does the tv extend horizontally? Is it an eyesore when viewing the bracket from the side

Sweet…. Yeah a lot of people have asked me why I didn’t include a bracket. Maybe should have. Good luck on the project!
My studs are 16" apart but arent in center either (4" and 12" apart from center). Which adapter brackets do you recommend? Thank you
Thank you for detailing the installation process, this made it much easier for our purchase! One quick question. Sorry for late reply…i used the table. Honestly, if it is a little over exaggerated the tv drops low enough it doesn’t matter.
It's absolutely overestimated. I just took mine down and brought it 3 inches lower, and still clears my soundbar.
@kBiLoAsZE sweet thx!
Great video! You should get yourself some sound bar brackets to mount that sound bar to the TV mount so it drops with the TV.
Several mentions of that in comments. As seen i have sonos soundbar. Honestly happy w it where it is. I know most people would add bracket. Thx!
i agree.

Any notice difference with the soundbar behind the TV versus something to connect it to the wall mount?
I really don’t at all. I am not an “audiophile”. You can add a soundbar if you want but to me it hasnt made a difference
Can this mount be installed upside down, so it can be raised up inside a tray ceiling?
wow...honestly not sure. I doubt it.

I would build it just big enough to fit the mount. Honestly would be pretty cheap and easy.
if the motor dies on that unit when it is in the up position, is there any way to manually lower it so the tv can be removed from the mount?

I’m trying to figure out the same thing
I’m sure you could reach out to the company to get a replacement remote. Not sure if there is a generic one.
Awesome, thanks. I think I’m getting this bad boy for the bedroom
