Thing is tho,, let face it, if we really needed too the sea could be easily dredged and deposited back to shore, thus solving the problem of both rising sea levels and erosion
Simple solution, don't build so close to the edge. Natural erosion has been occurring since the dawn of time. To blame others is just silly if you ask me. Entitled wealthy peeps!
What I love more than this video is the comment section... These greedy people should be grateful they even got the chance to live their in the first place and should stop whining. Especially when there's so much suffering going on in the world that gets ignored.
So funny: she builds (or buys) a house very close to the waterfront and expects the city of Wamberal or the state of NSW to build a protection with Tax payers’ money?
A scary fact is that one of these residents actually is an architect. He was in a local paper three years ago trying to gain community support for homeowners there to fund themselves their own revetment wall, not even caring about the impacts of what a wall there would do to other nearby beaches. Not many locals are feeling too sorry for these peeps right now.
Insurance won’t cover it as it is deemed an act of the nature/sea. I don’t understand why they’d build there then but then again, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
I feel sorry for the people who have lived in beautiful places like this for many decades and now find erosion threatening their homes. It is a warning to to all of us all over the world not to buy properties anywhere near the sea unless you are wealthy enough that you can afford to loose it.
People build houses next to volcanoes, on vault lines, in tornado areas, on the edge of coastlines.... And yet still act surprised when nature takes a bite...
All builders must b laughing at the city council WHY???read ur unit theory it says clearly DO NOT BUILT HOUSES NEAR SANDY CLIFFS now council got no money to pay the landlords they cant blame them but blame them selves this is madness n greed soon or later its gonna get worse
unless something is done to keep mother nature back, countries will start to disappear. I live in the UK and have been saying for years. Costal erosion will continue to happen unless we get there first!
This is weird. It is easy to blame this people but also I bet there was a kind of scam about this land. The soil look soft. Who authorized this land for habitation? How? Why?
More money than sense these people ! Then they have the hide to say they are angry and all rate and tax payers should fix it , get stuffed. You should have done a better job at making your house protected , but that would be common sence which you have none of. This is not the first time this has happened here and it was always going to happen again .So if you bought there after that you took the risk .
This reminds me of what narcissists do to people. Gradual erosion of peoples identity/self esteem/self worth over the course of time. You don't notice on day 1, but fast forward in time and they will have tried to destroy all that you have.
I can already see the lack of natural trees and plants that would hold the dirt and rocks in place are gone, then they build homes on the ground after they remove the natural foundation. It's just a matter of time before he rest is gone.
Our coastline isn't static. With global warming and sea level rise, can you imagine the amount of sea-walls that would need to be built. Why not buy these properties and over time return them to dunes... a better and cheaper outcomr.

0:18 “which we knew was going to happen” ... sooo of all places, you decide to build a home on the edge of a 100 ft cliff. That’s like building a home made out of sticks after Jesus tells you to use rocks..
Opps entire World have same thinking&work.. Occupy Rivers,Canals, coastal and their edges.. Please Give free hand/space to them..atleast top country.. I thought developed countries might be far better in this. Riverview, lakeview, seaview, pondview, canalview constructions are dangerous due to weather/climate changes in the World..
Check out Pacifica California USA same problem. Global warming. Pacifica coast ocean in 70s was 5 miles out. Not anymore😧 my friends apt had a great view and patio. All gone.
On the bright side you don't have to cut the grass this weekend.
Well, you did want a prestige position - right on the sea.
We all know it will come to this. Imagine in the comming years when the ice sheets melt. They are gonner.
@@alimohammad1934 Sea levels have not risen significantly in the last 100 years.
Exactly what do they think would happen eventually
Mystik al sea level have raised in parts of the world by few centimetres a year for decades
Thing is tho,, let face it, if we really needed too the sea could be easily dredged and deposited back to shore, thus solving the problem of both rising sea levels and erosion
What do you think is gonna happen, land has been eroded since time began and then you decide to build right on the coast 🤦♂️
Simple solution, don't build so close to the edge. Natural erosion has been occurring since the dawn of time. To blame others is just silly if you ask me. Entitled wealthy peeps!
That’s what you get when you build that close to a beach
She says they have lost their pristine beach i would argue that they now have more beach...but less house.
I wish people would stop putting homes on the edge like that. Southern California had to learn the same lesson.
What I love more than this video is the comment section... These greedy people should be grateful they even got the chance to live their in the first place and should stop whining. Especially when there's so much suffering going on in the world that gets ignored.
Moonshine Buck they’re greedy by building mansions on sand dunes which should be protected and blocking access to a public beach.
Aren’t we Told not to build on sand?
So funny: she builds (or buys) a house very close to the waterfront and expects the city of Wamberal or the state of NSW to build a protection with Tax payers’ money?
My grand father built a house at 40' above river level. Summer level zero and only rainfall season +10' . We were safe forever!!

Mountains crumble into the sea -retainer walls hurt beaches down the line - wrong place to build
Oh no.. their beach front properties are being taken away. Such a shame
They have insurance. This lessen won't teach them about reality.

ah! they wanted the taxpayers to protect their billionaire property from the nature :) LOL.
This is why you don’t build houses on sea sides on a tectonically shifting planet

@Andy N your right, but us as humans can certainly start doing our part to slow this process down
This is weird. It is easy to blame this people but also I bet there was a kind of scam about this land. The soil look soft. Who authorized this land for habitation? How? Why?
Who cares greedy people with much money and little common sense will expect others, us, to pay for their stupidly.
You get what you pay for.
Angry? At nature? 🤦♂️
I hope the house owners were away waving "refugees welcome" banners

People that live on the coast 🤷

Little tip: don't bild on a cliff edge, it really helps
Wow
Why did they build that close to the edge !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yep, great waterfront views !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No wall can prevent nature, Japan 2011 showed this.
Build yer house on sand did ya

They'll be fine, as long as they are insured. NEXT.
Beachside became cliffside 😯

It's terrible that those rich people houses will ruin the lovely beach underneath !
It's always the rich who ruin everything nice.
Ahh, you guys are rich, go build somewhere else.
Good comment and S very correct.
I don’t know they are all rich. Middle class maybe, but many of them will have large mortgages.
Sending prayers
Unlucky

Devastating!
devastating....nothing we say will help...
Should have used all the money you spent on botox, fillers and surgery and built a protective wall instead bimbo.
