My father was a pilot for Air America in Laos during 1967-1970. He was shot down in Laos and was injured on the Christmas Eve of 1969. In 1970 he ran the flying school to train Hmong pilots for General Wang Pao. Most of these pilot returned to Laos, Long Tiana, to fly T28 for Wang Pao Air Force. My father has since became a commercial pilot and was a Captain of B747 and became flight instructor to many more pilots, hundreds of them, since. He is now reaching 92 years old and is as healthy as a 92 years old can get. He still fly and drive from time to time. I sometime take to the air with him. I am 70 years old.

The love the part that MR Kukrit was interviewed. He was instrumental in making the first move to defeat communist insurgent in Thailand by establishing diplomatic ties with PRC. His visit and a long conversation with Chairman Mao was historic. His close and cordial relationship with Zuo En Lai and Deng Sieo Ping latter paved the way to a strong tie Kingdom of Thailand and PRC have had for the last 50 years. When the US left after the defeat in Vietnam and the Vietnamese troop gathered on the border of Thailand and Cambodia preparing to invade Thailand. PRC decided to deployed 10 divisions to attack Vietnam in the northern border. Prompting the withdrawal of troop from the Thai border and ended the aggression there. Thailand was subsequently saved from Vietnamese invasion and communist insurgency for good.

Our troops had to help the Khmer Rouge and fight against the North Vietnamese. It was a bloody fight. PLA did attack Vietnam’s northern border during that time. That’s why the North Vietnamese troops had to retreat.

I'm a long time subscriber to this channel, I was originally in it for the nuke test shots so I know what I'm watching by now. Normally actions like these are thickly veiled in humanitarian propaganda, but in this film the Thai government officials don't even bother to pretend and tell it like it is, providing the viewer with an extraordinary insight in realpolitik in action.

After Vietnam was divided ('54), many Vietnamese went by ship to South Vietnam, and as this story states 35K went to NE Thailand. These VN were easily coerced by North VN agents to assist guerillas in their terrorism. Thai special forces soldiers were "schooled & equipped" by Green Berets to stop the threat.

I am sadden that Thailand had deeply involved in the bombing of Northern Vietnam which killed thousands of people there.
I am also horrified by the aspect of letting the communist expanded undeterred, committing mass killing (like in Cambodia), cultural genocide (like Mao’s China), destroying buddhism, destroying our beloved monarchy (like in Russia). That cannot be happen at all cost, no matter the cost, no matter the risk, we will defend our home.

There are many kind of Socialism in the world, while the Khmer Rouge, which follow China ideology implemented mass killing and destroyed Buddhism in the country. The People Republic of Kampuchea, founded by Vietnam later revived the Buddhism, that made 96% of Cambodian became Buddhist again. Laos who follow Vietnam model is also and exception, they are both Communist and Buddhist country in a same time
