I will definitely be looking into getting a couple of eTHS. Seem perfect for monitoring temperatures in server rooms and areas around the house. I can see the eHUB being really useful for setting up automations in homeassistant like turning on and off lights when in a room.

Hi @misternormie, great idea. I head back from LinknLink today and they confirmed that the Home Assistant official integration is going through final approval at the moment and should be released shortly. Once done I'll push out a video for integrating. The it will be a steal for a 5 in 1 mains powered sensor.

Not got one yet but would guess that unknown socket is for an IR extension similar to on other IR hubs?

Arhhh that could be right. It would make a lot of sense. When I get confirmation back from LinknLink I’ll let you know.

Just heard back from LinknLink, you were spot on about the IR extender. That said the circuit board does support this, but the software currently does not. They were not able to advise on a schedule for this functionality as yet. Personally, I found the IR range to be very good. If you do end up buying one then let us know in the comments what your experience was.

@@smart_home_australia Hello. Made the purchase for one of these.. I have a SkySmart (iFlame) for my fireplace remote. Just asking you know if this will work with eHub I do not see any listing for fireplaces for IR remotes. Unless there is a general option.

Looks like a great product thanks for your time in making the video

Hi @BigBird2202, totally, this is a Broadlink pro on steroids. And since it's main by the old team that created the Broadlink Pro, it was always going to be an improvement on an already great product. Once it gets fully integrated into Home Assistant I'll do another review and see if it gets the full thumbs up.

Did you try this hub with motorised blinds? I have not had any luck with my broadlink device with the blinds.

Hi @michaelsandall5403, I have side chain blinds (ruclips.net/video/aLL4NfsLj6w/видео.html) TUYA compatible and slat blinds with a wand that I control with a SwitchBot (ruclips.net/video/gxQmH0128MI/видео.html). So I dont have any RF or IR blinds, sorry.

Looking good. Didn't know there was a device that did IR and RF control like the Broadlink RM Pro 4 and was compatible with home assistant. I've had the broadlink for 2 years now and use it to control my tv, my fireplace and some IR candles i have in the living room. Good video, always nice to have options. May get this if my broadlink device stops working.

All good, just making sure that you got the full picture. Love these devices and am in contact with LinknLink regularly, they are a company that really innovates.

I take it that thus device can also learn remotes? My Fujitsu does not have the wifi module therefore I will need to "teach" from its remote as I did with with my broadlink RM pro

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia  Год назад +1

Hi @cyclemadkiwi , Yep. Think of this device as a Broadlink RM Pro on steroids. The inclusion of the mmWave in a package side of 1/3rd the size.

      Awesome, thanks!
I have the hub and the eMotion, so next week I'll be setting up my new house. Smart LED downlights, curtains and blinds. I was a Phillips Hue user, but the cost of their LED downlights is bonkers!

I think you hit the nail on the head. No one has a problem with Philips Hue quality, saturation and app etc. it’s the price and the closed eco system.
Good luck in the setup and let us know how it goes.

@@smart_home_australia I thought I sent a reply...oh well, if this does appear twice, my apologies.
I've installed the eHub and the eMotion, I have had to keep my RM4 Pro to operate the Aircon though, the eHub would not operate with line of sight being a little too far. I found it difficult to get automations sorted for non LinknLink devices despite linking them to Google Home. To operate my one smart light at my entrance using the eMotion sensor, I could not access the device (Smart Light) directly from the linknlink app, I had to select and type in the Google home voice command to operate it! I have it set to turn on the light as a night light should I walk into the kitchen, it works, however it takes about 5 secs before the light turns on after detecting me, I think this is a bit slow! Ides??
I noticed in your app setup there was an option in the "Add Device" called NFC Devices (eg Door sensor, motion sensor and light switch) in my app setup this option does not exist!
Any ideas or if I've done something wrong?

Hi @cyclemadkiwi, Interesting that you say the IR is not as powerful as the RM4 Pro. Have you adjusted the orientation as that would make a huge difference. I personally did not have an issue with the automations. Did you try raising a ticket with LinknLink as I found their support to be very responsive and helpful.
I didn't have an issue with the response times as I found them to be comparable wiht other mmWave devices (dont forget that PIR is currently faster than mmWave device), hence why some vendors load both into the single devices and drive motion from PIR and occupancy from mmWave).
The Add Device might be a region specific parameter, again that's a ticket with LinknLink. I talk to their product manager and he tells me that they are conintually improving the device and I've seen several updates some through, so I believe that to be true.
