I suspected as much. A first year generation is bound to have high costs and a high number of recalls. A bulldozer company entering the car market sounds like a train wreck to me.

Came to the comments to verify this was a prank. The New York to LA had me scratching my head but when it came to power train options, I was like, ok this whole thing is bogus.
My husband is in the process of ordering equipment from Caterpillar for a job site, the rep for Caterpillar told him about the new trucks coming out, sent over information, and he is going to order one. They are real, not sure about the delivery time, they have not gotten that far in the ordering just yet. My husband has know this guy many many years, so he knows this to be true.
I wear a hard hat, and therefore assume this is an affordable truck for the blue-collar class, and not just a show truck for people that have never worked a day in their life . . .

Let's see Ryobi beat this truck and price costs. Imagine a truck that's not only cheaper then buying a brand new house, rock proof windshield, and minor scratch proof paint but also comfortable to take on long trips with a back seat bed option and engine with 40-50 mpg highway and its STANDARD on super crew cab full size truck trim levels. That would be a great future to look forward to.

This is a joke. The specs given are not possible. It said you can drive from L.A. to N.Y. on one tank of gas withe the smaller diesel engine. Over 2000 miles onnone tank of gas. Must be a giant gas tank.

It amazes me how CAT makes a pickup truck that will last instead of just several years without any problems, instead of just a couple of years like almost every other brand on the market. The only problem I have with the CAT is the cost of a new pickup, I am condemned to have to buy used vehicles now and then I am lucky to get a decent one. I give the CAT a thumbs up 👍.

I’ll stick to my Toyota Tacoma it’s paid for and not a whole lot of miles on it
That what I have too! A 2009 red Tacoma TRD sport. 200,000 miles on it and runs like a new one. Little bit of rust on the tailgate. But I plan on getting that fixed.

The pick-up truck doors don't cover the sills either, which means that when you get out of the truck, you will get your pants dirty when it rains. So to bad, that happens when you are not experienced in building trucks or cars, you just can't know.

Has any of you seen the new Harbor Freight half and one ton coming out ? They give you bags of extra parts from alternator to transmission so you can rebuild them yourself and don't bring it back after 200 miles .

Can someone please build a simple pickup truck that can haul, pull, load and push well? Nothing fancy just a work truck with lots of power, simple instrumentation and zero electronics. It should have little junk to go wrong and priced between 25,000 and 35,000 all in.
