- Acoustic cover of Elliott Smith Misery Let Me Down played on 1965 Gibson Hummingbird. Elliott used this as a "warm up" song before recording some songs in a radio station studio. He only played half of the song before he just stopped mid song, and moved on to other songs. Really a great thing to get leaked for all us ES fans out here though. I wish I had the lyrics to the rest of it to try to finish something ES never was able to...pretty lofty! Don't know if I even have the guts to attempt it even if I had the words? Hope you enjoy what he gave us anyway.

as ES songs go...this one was not so bad to figure out. Singing was a little too high for me to do. But rather than try to transpose it, I just threw it out there with my weak voice effort. Thanks for the kudos my friend!

Great job, man! I'm always wary of people covering Elliott (particularly such an obscure song), but you nailed it!
I'm guessing Elliott was in tune for the recording, but it's probably a cassette tape that leaked, and the playback was just slightly fast or slow....

Why, you're only 2,000 miles and 34 hours away! What's that compared to the hours you spend practicing, eh? Oh....all joking aside...I will happily settle for the video....I had to settle for videos of Elliott, too. Luckily, there are numerous ones out there. My favorites are the videos that are simple -- just a guy and his guitar in a room.....hey, that sounds familiar!? Good luck with your show and please keep us posted!

voice was fine. a lot of great singers voice are not perfect.. its more about the effort and feel. i like when guys like elliott and paul mccartney will go a bit out of range and their voice cracks a little. u obviously know ur ES and thats whats really important.. next time finish the song tho (j/k). the out-of-tune guitar interests me as i heard elliott talk about this before. hmm
