I'd be pumped for Sennecke or Eiserman. If one of the top six dmen is not available I say pick a forward that's best available. With three second round draft picks you can go after d-men hoping one pans out. Walman addition helps shore up the d in the meantime. Otherwise would be cool to trade up and somehow land Buium or Dickinson. I will be at the draft day one so I'm super excited.

I'm pretty sold on Solberg honestly - I wonder if he starts to slide down the board if the Sharks trade back from 14 for more assets + Solberg. I know he doesn't have a ton of offensive upside but a big guy that can skate, plays a mean physical game, and *does* have a good slapper from the point - seems to check a lot of boxes for us. I'm hoping Yakemchuk slides and we're able to scoop him at 14.
But I'm open to one of these high-ceiling forwards if they make it to 14 like Sennecke, Helenius, or Iginla, or Catton. They may develop into a higher-end piece for the roster or to trade for a real D-men somewhere down the line. But with people like Halttunen, Musty, Cardwell, Lund, Robins, Bystedt, Edstrom, Coe, Svoboda, etc in the system - there's a lot in the forward pool, with Musty and Halttunen looking like they can develop into some serious finishers, a la Sennecke or Eiserman, even though the rest will probably be bottom sixers at best. Add those guys with Bordeleau (if he sticks around), Smith, and Eklund and I think you start to see the makings of a pretty good forward roster, before any more aggressive trades start to get made as the team gets good again.
Eiserman scares me a bit because he seems to have nothing *but* his shot. Putting one of Celebrini's homies on the roster sounds like it could be good for chemistry, maybe give Cole the best shot to develop into a real NHL player - but of all these guys we're talking about, he seems to have the most "boom-or-bust" potential, and San Jose can't really afford to miss that badly with any of these picks. I think GMMG will probably exercise caution around players like him, but we'll see.
Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day for us Sharks fans! Thanks for the consistently great and informative coverage, JD!

Button has Buium going 3rd! I think Jiricek could be a steal if he is healthy.

@@bschmonsUnfortunately he's not. He couldn't even participate in combine. He's still unable to skate. It's a pretty serious knee injury.

If they move up they should get parekh or yakemchuk, get another big vet for the defensive skills and to protect the young fellas.
