Arcade Game: Pac 'N Pal/Pac-Man & Chomp Chomp (1983 Namco)

- A classic maze sequel sequels to Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and others. This time Pac-Man now has a new friend named Miru, but she tries to steal stuff and take it to the ghost pen. Pac-Man now not only has to collect the stuff lying around the board, but he must also watch Miru to make sure she doesn't take the stuff.
The alternate version known as Pac-Man & Chomp Chomp which features Chomp Chomp the dog instead of Miru starts at 24:34.

This game has many similarities to Super Pac Man, including unlocking gates to each target objects, having no dots, having bonus stages, the ghosts pausing instead of changing direction, the ability of Pac Man to enter the reincarnation chamber ( ghost house ), and some of the sounds, like obtaining a extra life, bonus points countdown, and the sound of Pac Man dying. Just like Super Pac.
More than likely because both were done by Namco. While Ms. Pacman, Jr Pacman and Pacman Plus were done by General Computer Corporation and Bally Midway, Super Pacman was supposed to be Namco's version to be the true sequel to Pacman. Although it failed to top its predecessor, Namco would try a few more times with Pac and Pal, Pac Land and Pac mania.

I like how the music sounds happy and peaceful while at the same time, the ghosts are trying to kill you 😆

I actually bought a P&P I used to have just for this game. And the other 11, but mostly this one.
There are just so many favourite Pac-Man games out there, like the non-GBA versions of Pac-Man World 1 & 2, Maze Madness, Adventures in Time, Pac-in Time (non-GB versions), Pac ‘n Roll, Super Pac-Man, Pac-Man Dash, Pac-Land (the inspiration of Super Mario Bros. 1), Pac-Man Vs., Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 1 & 2, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Mania, Pac-Attack (especially the PMW2 version), Jr. Pac-Man, Pac-Man Party (even when compared to an underrated game like Pac-Man Fever) and (last but not least), Pac & Pal (starring Jerry Trainor as Pac-Man in his PMW series design, Angie Harmon as Pinky in her Pac-Man World 2 or 3 design (the only difference is that she had a dark pink eye colour in PMW3), Michael J. Fox, Jay Sean and Mario Cantone as the rest of the main ghosts, Debby Ryan as Miru in her Pac & Pal (& only) design and so much more!).

Arrangment for GBA and the ps2 full screen one are being very enjoyable in their collection editions (of course i use roms) :)

Wow...I can't remember if I've actually seen this as a 4-year-old in an arcade, but it hits the super-classic spot in my heart as if it did. Criminally cute!!
I love this game, used to play this alot when I was a kid. Honestly they should rerelease this and other rare, classic, and underrated Pacman games on the switch.

Wish granted, its on the new Pac-Man Museum+ game on Switch and PS4. The input lag sucks though. With a lot of these ports I have difficulty turning corners with Pac-Man
I'm sad that there's no intermissions. The cutscenes in Pac-Man and Super Pac-Man were pretty good, so why are they not here?

This and Ms. Pacman are my favorite Pac sequels. This game is original and fun. So much is going on but it's so easy to digest. Smartly designed. Ms Pacman works as a very direct improvement of the Pacman game play. Very interesting.

They did. His grab is a reference to the galaxian powerup, which is also a reference to galaga, although the move in smash looks more like it does in galaga.

Only the other day have I learned how big Pac-Man really is. Many games are made to this day. Namco's mascot is as big as Mario, but I think it's the lack of advertising that hides it. I didn't know that Pac-Man World 1 was being remade and released. Until I learned it came out last month. It's the only one of the World trilogy I haven't played.
I have been a gamer since video games were invented and a big pac man fan, how is it in 2019 this is the first Ive heard or seen of this game?
The one thing I also learned is that; originality is something that's suppose to, go along with your attitude. Has any of your friends ever said to, stick with the original plan?
July 30, 1983-a Japan-exclusive game introduced them to power-ups stunning the ghosts in its path. Though, intended for a US release, we never got a chance to experience it-until now.
The much better Pac and Pup which was meant for U.S. distribution was instead sent over to Europe.

I played this on Pacman museum +, It's a fun game & I really like it, but it is easy to see why this didn't go very far when it came to an American audience, it changed a lot from the previous game,

Galaxians: PAC-MAN uses a spell and turns the ghosts dizzy & hot pink.
Race Cars: PAC-MAN coughs steam and the ghosts turn super duper scared & blue.
Trumpets: PAC-MAN sings and it makes the ghosts turn into happy dancing Pinkys.
Snowmen: Freezes the ghosts with PAC-MAN’s cold icy breath.
PAC-MEN: PAC-MAN pukes Little PAC-MEN out of his mouth and the little guys nibble the ghosts for a bit.

+Christopher Sobieniak Oh lol. I agree. Funny how Midway's Pac-Man games were often better than Namco's own. Midway kept the simplistic dot munching that made them good. Namco tried a bit too hard to make it fresh and kinda hurt it.
