Thanks for the review! I just got this camera at an estate sale. I'm an amateur photographer just starting out. Appreciate the information and story! I'm glad you're encouraging the younger generation to get out there. If someone had given me a camera at an early age, I might have just been famous by now ;) Ya never know!
Man great advice and great video. Today's kids are lucky to grow up with today's tech more than my x gen age. I have this camera got it at a yard sale for 20 with extra batt cool zippered case 2 16 GB cards I have higher gb cards. I've taken great pix with it sunsets sunrises bug nature shots and mountain pix too. These are way better than those little credit card cameras and smartphones cause what they offer than those. Great features and not worried bout sharing it passing it around and little younglings run off to take their own shots and viddies. It teaches them how to handle a camera later. Great viddie dad...
similarly I have a P90 and when my 8 year old Grandson was staying with us I took him out on a wildlife shoot with some friends and now 5 years later he is shooting Canon with a tamron 150-600 lens doing g wildlife and sports. The P90 got him hooked. I still have my P90 along with 3 professional cameras.
Is a miracle that still fully functional. I have a group picture, indoor, it was able to capture the image great. I am watching this video because I did a check of the image Exif details and was able to get the camera model from there.
I work as an insurance damage estimator. I am restricted to 12 mb of photos upload of a claim and at times insurance companies want HD pics to argue over damaged with owners. I just bought one and will be trying it out. Thanks. I think this is the right type of camera for good resolution with a small file size.
I bought one today at Goodwill for $21. I despise my Sony, so I am looking forward to trying out this one. It has to be better than my Sony, which I have hated from day one.
i had this camera in a drawer,, i just shot some video with my iphone, and thought, hmm, i had to order batteries, and watching your video is helpful thank you,
Nice video...but you should have did a small section of your post with the camera using video and posting it in your video. Honestly, I thought you were using the camera do do this video...until you pulled it up. Maybe during your closing segment, you should have filmed with the camera. Thanks for the video.
Buen video, falto video test, me ofrecen una pero no se si me sirva para hacer mis videos, no se que calidad de video me valla a dar, me la recomendarías?
Hey dude I live in Dallas just got back from the state fair and was rocking the coolpix 5700. o yea I’m talm bout 5mp my guys I gotta say all in all not the worst pictures I’ve taken. Also I have fallen in love with the loud growl of the auto focus. It sounds like it’s about to leap out of my hands and attack somebody. Got it at a garage sale with a camera case and a dsc-hx9v Sony cyber-shot for 20$ not a bad purchase, not at all. Loved your review you got a sub from me 👍.
Btw you look like a guy I saw at the bomb factory recently I was with a really short girl with pink hair was that you? You look too similar to the dude for me not to ask.
@@josephcunningham7568 Not me this time, but I do go to a lot of shows around DFW. Thanks for watching the video and the comments. Glad you like the camera, I hadn't thought about the growl, but will next time i use it.
I guess it could be since it shoots video, but i've never done that with this one before. The video quality isn't as good as the worst cell phone on the market right now, so I would stick to using your mobile device or grab a newer camera. Hope this helps.
@@mikescamerareview1787 Thanks for your reply I have this camera but battery isn't working so just thought about it,to use or not to use, for vlog.startup.

I own the same camera , it is ten years old but still works without a single hiccup . Nikon quality .
Same. My is 12 years old and still works almost perfectly fine except that it doesn’t have a memory card

i use a cleaning cloth over the lens to keep cap on.
What you refer to as "sport" actually stands for SPEED.

Happy new years
YBM Sunset happy new year!
Does this camera have a timer if you wanted to set it up on a tripod and take a picture of yourself?
Yes, it has a timer, 2-10 seconds.
Yeah, your kid can drop it, but don't expect it, or any other camera to work for long if you do.

What is the blinking red icon on the view screen?
probably the time and date need to be set
Thank you
