I spent 35 years as an electronics engineer. Over my career like most of the guys I worked with, as a "fiddle" we diagnosed & repaired equipment like this as well as TVs & audio gear. It is strange to think stuff used to be made to be stripped down & repaired like this...so many parts, all of which could be bought from firms like CPC...& great big thick service manuals with full schematic diagrams. Not like the crap they make today which is specifically deigned so it cannot be repaired.

great video and very helpful. I have not repaired a deck in decades and as a favour to someone agreed to repair their Panasonic NV-FS200B which is very similiar however there is an additional motor and toothed belt.

I have always been fascinated by the G-Mechanism, about 20 years ago i had two of these decks, and i didnt fully understand how this worked, because the loading was also been done by the capstan motor. One deck was mis aligned when i got it from a friend of mine, and it puzzled me how to align this mechanism. (i was only 15 at the time). But i did trial and error alignment so much on the mechanism without those holes or arrows pointing at each other. Because i didnt know what those holes or arrows were and never noticed. I got to a point where i could do the alignment of the G-Mechanism with my eyes closed and without referring to any holes or arrows. Infact i saw a Panasonic NV-J1 for sale today and i called the other and later i will buy it, brings back good memories with this mechanism. Thank you for sharing your video

Very Mr. Mio: I asked you a question and apparently you have not been able to answer me, I know that the power supply is not the fault, it will be due to the lack of alignment of the gears, I want to ask you another question. Inside, how do you move the tape guides so that everything is repositioned? Thanks for your videos.

Gracias.

I believe there is an error around 36:14. It is not the first but the second tip of the cassette holder rack which must align with the mark on the connection gear. The Panasonic manual is absolutely right, I have installed it this way several times.
It maybe that the second tip is the first one which is visible through the hole when looking from the top. But it is definitely the second tip of the rack.

Any idea what is the type of mechanism on fs77 and fs88/fs200? It looks like G but has an additional motor

The G10 doesn't use the G mechanism. It uses the older D1 mechanism. Clean the mode switch and check the rubber parts (loading belt, reel drive belt and idler).
