The Roman amphitheatre is worth a look. For food I found lunch time buffet restaurants the best value. Iri is good for trying Albanian food, and there's a more Italian one up near the hospital. Options for traveling on from Duress are a but limited. To go north or south, you might have to go back to Tirana. It's not far. You can even do it by train.. sort of.
