My all time favorite Eyeshadow was chanel d’ombre in epatant. I wore it for years. But, of course, it got discontinued. Every dupe I got, no one replaced that one. I miss it so much. Chanel really broke my heart. It was such a unique shade. I only wear single eyeshadow. It’s easy and quick. I don’t have time for 4 different eyeshadows to put on in the morning. And these single, sparkly ones always look soooo elegant. Unpopular opinion: I am a single eyeshadow person😆
SmileLC100 It is my favourite eyeshadow too. When I found out that it was going to be discontinued I bought three backups. I'm currently on my last one right now. I find that since they are old they do tend to dry out a lot faster. I have not been able to replicate anything like it 😭
swedishlina Right? Such a unique one. I have two left but both dried out. I did try to “reactive” those with alcohol etc. But I am still heartbroken😆. There are some similar ones, Natasha Denona’s “Industrial” is similar but still, not just not the same. The sparkle, the texture, the shade.... Not replaceable😆 I am still hoping that Chanel will continue Epatant one day🤞🏽
Have you tried the Nabla Single shadows? Their shimmers are THE BEST. Check out the live swatches on their website. Water Dream and Millennium are spectacular!
I loved the story about the Nordstrom Tom Ford shadow; in my opinion that would be a good RUclips video idea - the stories behind purchasing the shades in person as compared to online; I still remember buying a MAC shade years ago from I think their "Hey, Sailor" collection and what influenced me was the artist's STUNNING eye look - included green eyeliner, and it was so crisp and so well done. I love shopping stories.
Forgot to mention: I think you’d like the by terry ombré blackstar in misty rock. It’s similar to Chantecaille mermaid but a bit more dimensional and much longer lasting/safe from creasing. I’ve actually used one up and repurchased which I’ve never done with ANY other eyeshadow (cream or otherwise) before. Highly highly recommend it for a one and done!
omg same. haha, i feel exactly the same! and that hit me so hard this year and now im like, wheres all the single shadows at, instead of all the big palettes lols..
I love to use eyeshadows as single, I am a person who does not know to much how to mix it together and above all I have hooded eyes. Thank you Michele for the swatches
*Drooling* 😍 single shadow look is my fave. My eyes are so hooded that that’s usually all I can do but I have no complains. Those chantecaille ones are on my wish list for sure!😍
That Dior eyeshadow blended into a full glam eye look in a matter of seconds, I had to do a double-take! Can it do my tax return too? Great video Michele!! Any chance to peek inside your beautiful collection is a good day :)
Love this video. One and done is definitely my style. My favourite is Charlotte Tilbury in Jean / champagne. I also tend to buy eyeshadow palettes and treat them as a collection of singles (& mainly based on the shimmer shades). I know it is unusual but it is my style for work.
This is exactly what I am doing now that I work from home and mostly have zoom calls. Thank you for always keeping your content so relevant! Love you as always, Michele
This was the video I have been wanting to see!! Thank you. I have simplified much of my eye makeup past 3 years due to eye sensitivity caused by hormonal changes and I don’t reach out to using heavy eyeshadow, eyeliner etc anymore. I have refined my shadow use to just veils of colors and liners using a gel pencil that I smudge out gently. Oh! This video was perfect for me and I appreciate how you detailed the textural feel, length of wear and ease of use!!
Whenever I can’t decide or am rushed to a zoom call, I grab the pale pink in the Ritualistic Rose ... it is somehow always right. But now this gives me so many other options ... wonderful!
UGH this gave me SO much joy and enjoyment! I LOVE LOVE one and done shadows!! And for how much u are not a fan of using your fingers to apply shadows, honestly u did great and it was so quick too!
I love this idea. I own the Roen 11:11 quad and I definitely use it more as a collection of 4 singles rather than a palette and I love using any one of them for single shadow looks. My Clionadh glitter shadow, Grisaille, is another great single shadow look. I just smudge it all over my lid, maybe fluff a buffing brush into the crease and that’s it. There’s enough pigment in it to create dimension but it’s still so glimmery.
What a fun video:)) 👍🏻 Chanel Undertone cream shadow is my absolute must have at all times, but I use it as a base for any eye makeup to last all day😉 Bronze patiné is gorgeous & looks multidimensional when worn alone! A great single powder shadow by Chanel is Talpa, sooo up your alley, taupe/mauvy/greyish... such a cool color. That Dior cosmopolite looks gorgeous ... yum.
Love single shadow looks! Decorte makes great single shadow looks! Also love Tom Ford Emotionless and Charlotte Tillbury Eyes to mesmerize cream shadows as well.
Great video idea. I've been hearing how people are doing more dramatic eye looks now that we are wearing masks, but like you, I have been leaning more towards a very understated look these days.
I bought the Chantecaille luminescent Mare. It is a beautiful shimmery green. I never thought I would like it as much as I do. I use it as a single shadow, and I have never seen a such a simple but gorgeous color. It is a special edition.
As I age I find that most pallets these days just overwhelm me. I’ve started to enjoy just picking one or two shades for my eyes and really focusing on the face makeup. Lovely video as always! 🥰
I love this video I really needed it! I have hooded eyes and too many colours can be pointless & lost on me - one colour eyes is my way forward - Thank You Michelle x
Hi Michelle, perfect timing. I have been using a lot of single shadows. One of my favourites is Bobbi Brown Heat Ray, TF rose gold, CT STAR GOLD...uh oh I keep thinking of more. I have yet to buy any Chantecaille, it’s on my radar though.
It’s like you read my mind. I was just wishing that you would do a video of this nature, and I was delighted to hop on and see that you just posted this. I LOVE single shadow looks, especially for every day when I want to do my makeup in 10 minutes or less (which is most days). You hit all of my faves too except for Tom Ford Platinum.
This is fantastic. Single shadows are just so easy to toss in your bag and get ready at a moment’s notice. The shades you selected are perfect for every day and especially for virtual meetings. Thank you for sharing Michele. Have a wonderful weekend.
I have two of the Sisley eyeshadows you show, glow silver and glow pearl, and they are my all-time favorites for stunning single-shadow look. They are fantastic and sophisticated, no matter how I apply them. Love your videos! 🌺
Thank you for bringing out VB Mink - it is truly a marvelous rich color and I love your application for a day-time smokey eye look. I just put it on along with my Kosas Electra lipstick on the lips (and a bit on the checks). Fabulous if I do say so myself.
I resisted getting Sisley eye shadows for a long time as they’re so expensive. But finally splurged and they are beautiful and really worth it. The right balance of glisten and tone. Not as shimmery as they look in the pan but a beautiful subtle luster on that gives them depth and richness. I’m over 40 and finding shadow that really works is not easy as the matte and shiny options are often heavy or unflattering but these are just perfect. I’ve been using the Chanel les beiges palette in medium for a year as it’s the only one that always worked before these ( that’s a great one , too ). I got the sparking topaz, a soft pink and plum color. Thank you, Michelle for highlighting their products. They’re so pricey, but for these shadows it’s been worth it.
I love this video! great for eyeshadow beginners too! Please do a one and done video with eyeshadow pallets i want to invest in a pallet that can give me a variety of one and done looks
My fave cream shadows are the Ellis Faas ones that come in a wand. One small swipe, blend with finger...they are beautiful for one and done! Great color options too - not just neutrals. :)
Yasss! The Luxury Queen has spoken! Really love this. I'm an ESL teacher so we're really not allowed to put on a heavy looking makeup but since I love makeup, this is the look that I'm always going for everyday. And these are all lovely! Thank you for sharing Michele!
I love this video. There are so few woc doing a one-and-done eyeshadow swatch. Thank you. You swatched colors that i could use on my med-deep, warm, brown skin tone. I look forward to viewing more of your videos.
I’m calling it Michele - this is my favourite video you have EVER done! 🙌🏻 I LOVE one and done eyeshadows and I don’t own any of the ones you listed (as someone else commented, my wallet is nervous 😅). I will be picking up that Diorshow Mono in Cosmopolite for sure. As for my own faves, for powder shadows I like Burberry Pale Barley (a shimmery taupe), and the 2 middle shades in the Burberry Gold 25 palette (one is a shimmery bronze and the other is a shimmery taupe). Cargo eyeshadow in St Tropez is a warm taupey-bronze shimmer that I love but is sadly discontinued. There’s a shade in the Nars Summer Lights palette (which I know you have Michele) called Rainwater which is a shimmery taupe that looks amazing as a one shadow look. Haven’t delved much into the world of cream shadows (yet) but I do like the Nars velvet eyeshadow stick in Siros (a bronze). I have blue eyes so I find bronze tones really make them stand out. Thanks Michele for another great video!! 😘
As a mom of 4 and going back to work I get more and more into one and done shades. I just ordered Tom Ford Platinum and Naked Bronze. Today I wear Misty Rock (by Terry) like mentioned in a comment below.
love chanel ombre premiere, my Undertone dried up too but I saw a makeup artist spritzing UD all night spray straight into the pot and it totally revived it. It works for me too, of course it'll need spraying each time I use it but it's no big deal tbh, I plan to really use up my pots!
Yes!! I want easy (i.e roll out of bed to commute to my couch and join a work zoom meeting) eye makeup to look more alive. Thanks for the recommendations!
I love this video, my favorite of all time! Chanel New Moon is my go to shadow! I use it alone or as a base for other shadows! You gave me so many more options to try, thanks!! The Victoria Beckham has insane pigmentation, might have to try it!
I’ve discovered you recently and since then can’t stop watching. You’re just such a beautiful, elegant and gracefully woman. I am in love with your less-is-more beauty philosophy!
Really enjoyed this video! It's kind of countercultural for RUclips, lol. You inspired me --- today I pulled out my Pat McGrath Decadence palette and used the deep blue shade Underworld as a single shadow. Definitely a vampier take on a single eyeshadow look, but I'm sure it will be great for my Zoom meetings! :)
Omg these shades are so gorgeous so hard to chose. I’m fair skin blue eyes and yes I have some aging on my lids So I like Sisley idea of having aging benefits. But the really liked the chantille duo right below it. so many choices.
Tom Ford Platinum cream shadow is my favorite one and done shadow of all time. Hourglass Scattered Lights are gorgeous, also Roen shadows work best (IMO) as one and done. Love your picks too.
I completely agree about cosmopolite. I wear that one all the time. I also love the sisley single shadow formula. I actually hit pan on Topaz and the shadows have not been out that long. I also love glow pearl but it isn't one I love by itself with my eyeshape. I have the glow coral which kind of looks like the second eye. What I also do with sisley, especially lately because I have been lazy is using the orchidee blushes as either single shadows or with one of mine. Both the pink and coral one have a subtle shimmer and I like taking a small blush/contour brush and sweeping it so that it is heavier on the lid fading toward the brow. With the coral one I like using patting a bit of the glow coral on the lid or the topaz. The pink one is more of a monochromatic look for me. I love it on the cheeks and eyes with a sheer wash of the same tone gloss on the lips.
Great video, Michelle. I’m so glad you went through so many swatches because many of the colors look so different in the pan. I’ve picked several from your collection that I have completely overlooked on the websites. Thank you. I think a one shadow look is so chic and fresh.
Hi Michelle, thanks for this great video. Could you also do a video about your top 5 cream eyeshadows? You don't seem to have a dedicated video for this, so would love to know your thoughts. Thank you!
Gosh, this is an amazing and comprehensive video on the one eyeshadow look. I love these swatches. I have hooded lids and smaller almond shaped eyes, and I just cannot get the whole multiple shadow blending thing to work for me. It just ends up being a heavy and dark shadow mess - no differentiation of colors can be seen - that makes my eyes look smaller. I've decided I need to go the one shadow look with just a highlight on the brow bone and the corners of my eyes.
This video is SO JUST IN TIME! I agree with all of your mentioned eye shadows. I also love CT Marie Antoinette (now Oyster Pearl) or the pink highlight in TF INCANDESCENT!
Love this video idea!!! And I loved when you suggested the type of lip that would go well with the shades. That may be a great future video idea - your favorite lip + eye pairings!
I agree the Viseart shimmers are stunning! Even their satins are so intense! I don't have sultry muse but i do have paris nudes, boheme, coy, grande pro 2 and several of their edits. There is a range of finishes, but nothing i would say was even verging on lacklustre or ho-hum.
I’ve been using the Nudestix eye pencils for the last year. I really like the ease of the application and the simplicity of the one and done eye look. I also prefer their colour story as they are mostly neutral shades.
Just ordered the Chanel New Moon. You made it so easy to apply and looks good on you. Can't wait to try it and hope it will work just fine on my aging eyelids. Thanks!
Michele this video is so fun🥰 I love single eyeshadow and always reach for singles. I appreciate you took the time to apply each shadows for your viewers. The Diorshow Mono is stunning 😍 I need that in my life🤗
You would wonder how one could talk a whole video on single eyeshadows etc ..but soo many colours tones effects etc kept me mesmerised TIL the end!! I love the Chantecaille ones especially the little green kingfisher quad ..Dior one looks pretty cool ..I’m away to investigate! Thank u Michelex
Thank you for all the swatching. I might buy the V.B. Mink.
🩺 I have watched this more than 10 times over the yrs since this was uploaded. Lots of these are my fav also.
My all time favorite Eyeshadow was chanel d’ombre in epatant. I wore it for years. But, of course, it got discontinued. Every dupe I got, no one replaced that one. I miss it so much. Chanel really broke my heart. It was such a unique shade.

I still have that shadow! It's pretty dry but I refuse to get rid of it.
swedishlina Right? Such a unique one. I have two left but both dried out. I did try to “reactive” those with alcohol etc. But I am still heartbroken😆. There are some similar ones, Natasha Denona’s “Industrial” is similar but still, not just not the same.

My fave one was Emerveillé 😭

OOOOHHH!!! Thank you Steph! I have actually had that on and off my wishlist forever, LOL! Now I'm just gonna buy it!
Amy P and Dirty too ooh I hope you love it! It’s so handy when you’re in a hurry
Terrific! I've been looking at both of these this week trying to decide! Thank you . Love these colors ❤️
Their Frozen Quartz shade is very similar to the Chantecaille Pangolin shade too, if you like that shade but in a creamy version.
@@AnUrbanGypsy uh oh.....! LOL
My favorite shadow is a one and done! Thanks for the ideas!
That Victoria Beckham “Mink” looks fabulous on you.
As I get older, the more I love single shadows.
I started my makeup journey with a single shadow in a taupe, and I'll probably go full circle.
Same!!!
Same. My most favourite is Dior Cosmopolite 🥰
omg same. haha, i feel exactly the same! and that hit me so hard this year and now im like, wheres all the single shadows at, instead of all the big palettes lols..
That's so beautiful😽
@@jiitkha isn’t it? I’m totally in love with it.
I love to use eyeshadows as single, I am a person who does not know to much how to mix it together and above all I have hooded eyes. Thank you Michele for the swatches
The cosmopolite is beautiful! Love the surratt for one eyeshadow look. My faves are zibeline and cuivre
This is my favorite way to wear shadow! Colourpop in Amaze or Ofra in Bliss are my all time favorites.
OMG those Sisley ones are stunning, so stunning....the first two especially the silver and the pearl 💝💝
I love shadows like this , a one shade all over the lid and a bold lip , it is so fresh and elegant!
*Drooling* 😍 single shadow look is my fave. My eyes are so hooded that that’s usually all I can do but I have no complains. Those chantecaille ones are on my wish list for sure!😍
And my eyes are very deep set and one shadow is all I need.
I love that you did this in a world where all of us are moving so fast to get things done… A video like this is super Duper helpful
Miss Butters’ little fit had me giggling way too much! Loved this video - so many great options!!!
❤️❤️❤️
I am also doing the one and done eyeshadow more than ever before. I realized I need to pull my VB lid lustre in Mink back out! ;) Thanks, Michele!
Roxanne Otto I love VB's lid lusters!
That Dior eyeshadow blended into a full glam eye look in a matter of seconds, I had to do a double-take! Can it do my tax return too? Great video Michele!! Any chance to peek inside your beautiful collection is a good day :)
I let out a loud OH when she put it on!
😂
Yes! I think I might have to order that one! 😍
My fave for one and done are the Roen palettes 😍 super easy and quick for a polished look x
Love this video. One and done is definitely my style. My favourite is Charlotte Tilbury in Jean / champagne. I also tend to buy eyeshadow palettes and treat them as a collection of singles (& mainly based on the shimmer shades). I know it is unusual but it is my style for work.

I’m so excited that you mentioned Chanel’s Undertone and New Moon - two of my absolute favorites which aren’t talked about enough.
The Chantecaille Tibet duo is my new favorite! It is soooo beautiful on the eyes!
Whenever I can’t decide or am rushed to a zoom call, I grab the pale pink in the Ritualistic Rose ... it is somehow always right. But now this gives me so many other options ... wonderful!
Happy Friday,
It is a very fun video. I love Chanel new moon and Chantecaille Copper shade.
Have a great weekend❤️
UGH this gave me SO much joy and enjoyment! I LOVE LOVE one and done shadows!! And for how much u are not a fan of using your fingers to apply shadows, honestly u did great and it was so quick too!
I love this idea. I own the Roen 11:11 quad and I definitely use it more as a collection of 4 singles rather than a palette and I love using any one of them for single shadow looks. My Clionadh glitter shadow, Grisaille, is another great single shadow look. I just smudge it all over my lid, maybe fluff a buffing brush into the crease and that’s it. Love this! A truly a unique idea and so relevant rn. Thoughtful as usual Michelle. ☺️
Oh my, pangolin is so gorgeous and unique. Will definitely have to look into it! Single shadow eye looks are too underrated on youtube.
I love this! I'm disabled and some days I just don't feel like going all out with my make-up, so this is wonderful.
What a fun video:)) 👍🏻
Chanel Undertone cream shadow is my absolute must have at all times, but I use it as a base for any eye makeup to last all day😉 Bronze patiné is gorgeous & looks multidimensional when worn alone!
A great single powder shadow by Chanel is Talpa, sooo up your alley, taupe/mauvy/greyish... such a cool color.
That Dior cosmopolite looks gorgeous ... yum.
Talpa + Silver Pink = ☺️
bookgirl173 must be bomb!!:))
😷
Burberry mono shadows in Shell and Nude (this one especially) - you will love these!
I bought the Chantecaille luminescent Mare. It is a beautiful shimmery green. I never thought I would like it as much as I do. I use it as a single shadow, and I have never seen a such a simple but gorgeous color. It is a special edition.
That Victoria mink shadow is gorgeous omgeeeee 😍😍
As I age I find that most pallets these days just overwhelm me. I’ve started to enjoy just picking one or two shades for my eyes and really focusing on the face makeup. Lovely video as always! 🥰
BTW just picked up the Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame because of you!
👍
I love this video I really needed it! I have hooded eyes and too many colours can be pointless & lost on me - one colour eyes is my way forward - Thank You Michelle x
Ooo really Victoria Beckham's eyeshadow blending looks amazing - the transition it made
I love quick and easy single eyeshadow looks. One of my favorites is the Laura Mercier caviar stick in Amythest. Always beautiful and lasts all day.
Patine Bronze all day everyday! I just love that one. ♥️
Thank you for the "one and done" roundup. I've definitely been going the route lately. So easy and pretty.
You too Pauline
I got the sparking topaz, a soft pink and plum color. Thank you, Michelle for highlighting their products. They’re so pricey, but for these shadows it’s been worth it.
When it comes to single eyeshadow pots, I can't talk enough about Trinny London. Gorgeous, easy to work with, buildable, stackable... Love them ❤❤❤
I love these too! Easy to use one pot as a soft wash, build in the crease and even use as a liner! So convenient.

I love Charlotte's. The one i was surprised by was dior i think. Gorgeous. Great video. Tom Ford was really beautiful too.
I love this video. There are so few woc doing a one-and-done eyeshadow swatch. Thank you. You swatched colors that i could use on my med-deep, warm, brown skin tone. I look forward to viewing more of your videos.
I’m so glad you talked about the Sultry Muse. It’s one of my all time favorites

That's a relief to hear that your eye is feeling better. Love all these one and done taupey shimmers and certainly a one-and-done application as well!
laura mercier caviar stick in metallic taupe is the best one and done lid shimmer, so reflective and stays all day
love chanel ombre premiere, my Undertone dried up too but I saw a makeup artist spritzing UD all night spray straight into the pot and it totally revived it. It works for me too, of course it'll need spraying each time I use it but it's no big deal tbh, I plan to really use up my pots!

Thanks Michele. I must say this One and Done selection is very exciting.
Very kind of you, Michelle. Your eyes and overall looked sensitive but you put this together. Helpful as well.
I’ve discovered you recently and since then can’t stop watching. You’re just such a beautiful, elegant and gracefully woman. I am in love with your less-is-more beauty philosophy!
Thanks for watching Melanie!
Really enjoyed this video! It's kind of countercultural for RUclips, lol. Definitely a vampier take on a single eyeshadow look, but I'm sure it will be great for my Zoom meetings! :)
This video Michele was fantastic! Thank you. What do you think about stick shadows from Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier for single shadow looks?
They're lovely! I haven't tried the BB, but have the LM and they're great. I forgot about my stick shadows for this video.
Love your picks too.
omg I love your choice! Especially the Dior one, so stunning! And your rings get me every time I watch your video!
I think hooded eye lid is much cooler than a deep set eye especially using a single eyeshadow.. eyeshadow look obvious on it I love it.
I love this video so much! Michele shows us how to have an amazing eye look with one shadow and no brushes required. This is what I am looking for.
I completely agree about cosmopolite. I wear that one all the time. I also love the sisley single shadow formula. I actually hit pan on Topaz and the shadows have not been out that long. I love it on the cheeks and eyes with a sheer wash of the same tone gloss on the lips.
Yes I love ONE EYESHADOW looks and them potted eyeshadows
YES MICHELE! I have so been into the one and done since March when I started having to work from home. This is such good timing.
Great video, Michelle. I’m so glad you went through so many swatches because many of the colors look so different in the pan. I’ve picked several from your collection that I have completely overlooked on the websites. Thank you. I think a one shadow look is so chic and fresh.
Enjoyed this! Loved your recommendations. Im def picking up Chanel New Moon and Pangolin from Chantecaille 😍 x
Hi Michelle, thanks for this great video. Could you also do a video about your top 5 cream eyeshadows? You don't seem to have a dedicated video for this, so would love to know your thoughts. Thank you!
Hi Michelle, I've heard that you can add a bit of Duraline to your potted shadows to revive them if they dry up.
I love cream eyeshadows too. I’d love to hear what you think of the Kjaer Weis cream eyeshadows. I am excited to try the Chantacaille brand. Thanks!
Michele! Cos Bar is having an awesome 40% off summer sale and they have the Chantecaille Mermaid creme shadows in the sale!!
Thank you - I could not remember which email I had seen that offer in and Michele’s video made me want want want!
Grrrreat... I guess I HAVE to go shopping, again! Lol
They were out of it as of yesterday but I’ll check again. Really wanted to purchase it!
This is such a good idea. Any frosted colour would be spectacular to me.
What color is that gorgeous lipstick please?
Gosh, this is an amazing and comprehensive video on the one eyeshadow look. I love these swatches. I have hooded lids and smaller almond shaped eyes, and I just cannot get the whole multiple shadow blending thing to work for me. It just ends up being a heavy and dark shadow mess - no differentiation of colors can be seen - that makes my eyes look smaller. I've decided I need to go the one shadow look with just a highlight on the brow bone and the corners of my eyes.
Your makeup looks so fresh and elegant in this video! What is on your lips?
I've got the Cle de Peau Refined Lip Luminizer on in 8 on- bit.ly/3aMKBx9 Thank you!
That may be a great future video idea - your favorite lip + eye pairings!
as single eyeshadow, I personally love the chanel fawne but I think is dismiss ..... love also the dior one gorgeous!!!!
Hi Michelle! Have you tried the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Cream Eyeshadow Pen in Frozen Quartz? It’s my favorite ‘one and done shadow’ ❤️
That VB mink is stunning!!
Just ordered the Chanel New Moon. You made it so easy to apply and looks good on you. Can't wait to try it and hope it will work just fine on my aging eyelids. Thanks!
I love that you showed individual shadows & swatches you love to use! Great video!! 😊❤️
Thanks Lora
Lily Lolo Choc Fudge Cake is the prettiest for one shadow look. 😍
Michele this video is so fun🥰 I love single eyeshadow and always reach for singles. I appreciate you took the time to apply each shadows for your viewers. The Diorshow Mono is stunning 😍 I need that in my life🤗
Wonderful video. My new go to is single shade sparkly eyeshadows. My current favourite is the Kaja stack in Orange Blossom-all three are beautiful!
Ugh your content is simply divine! Love how I feel like I’m sitting down with my girlfriend and hearing tips and advice. You’re the best
