Off work (self employed in Oxford England) with a busted intercostal muscle (repeat injury). Thanks again for providing videos to keep me focused and motivated to get back up the tree but also work smarter. The Vermeer is a cracking machine. I'm utilising your approach to buy a Kanga Kid Loader. Tiny in comparison but perfect for arb jobs where I am due to tight access (it's 800mm wide). Followed your videos for years now August and many others like Travor and Reg, Billy Ray alike. Always gaining the re focusing to overcome obstacles in working and family life via your videos and approaches to things in general. As always thanks v much for all you do for others mate. Cheers, Alex
One of the best signs and differences between a real tree man and a “weekend warrior” is being able to make your cuts so the logs being bucked down from the tree land flat. It’s not luck, it’s skill and years of experience with big tree removals. Also the ground men are trained very well and let the large limbs and tops being rigged down with handlines to “run” or given slack to pass the climber and anything else in the path to hang up on while also allowing the rigging and the tree to have much less weight to support by avoiding shock loading with sudden stops on the way to the landing zone on the ground. Great job folks!
I liked how you landed them all flat in a perfect pile. I'd of had them bouncing/rolling all over the place. As far as skid steers, I like the fork lift forks for big, heavy wood because it puts the load closer and you can pick up more. Enjoyed the video as always!
Another great video! What is the funk-delicious music that plays at 4:40? Can you do a vid on rope choices and preferences? Thanks and Merry Christmas!!
Had the check wrote for a kubota svl 75 today but this video kept creeping up telling me don't pull the trigger yet.... this machine is too big....my Vermeer dealer is 100 miles away.... long story short Education is expensive wherever you get it and I got some from you. Thank you for that
That video blows! I'm a Vermeer Dealer representative in Poland (Europe) - Is it possible that I can use your movie to promote Vermeer mini skid steers in my country? Thank you in advance. Best regards Lukas
cool video that tree crawler works nice . cotton wood trees man they suck so brittle and not really good for firewood . You made short work out it i like the drone footage . be safe look forward more videos
I would've gone with Avant or Giant, that way on any turf you don't have to put down ply tracks to run a skid steer on it, they are better in my view....don't get me wrong the Vermeer is one tough unit , i just prefer articulate as it's less wear on all parts & next to no damage on turf..just my opinion August.
Sir I found my Leaf Sucker/Blower at Sears for about 69.99 years ago in the home and Gardner section. The box say it could blow 190mph, ha I doubt it but it does blow pretty good. We all know what a leaf blower is and does. You can buy the high dollar one from Stihl which are pretty reliable, but I have a combo blower/Sucker, the sucking part can be used to suck up a bunch of leaves after they get gathered up in one spot and then put on the 6 inch pipe and the bag and then suck them all up and it mulches them all up. Wow enough on sucking and blowing but if you find one and you run across a nest of bees, it's all over with for them little basters, it's better than Raid or any other spray junk that just pisses them off. Good Luck, let me know if you find one.
how far are you from a Ditch Witch dealer. Their undercarriage and ground clearance are superior to the Vermeer. Its nice to have a local dealer though. Sounds like Vermeer would work well for you.
A little too much editing for my taste. Like to focus a bit longer to see what is going on. Just my two cents. Looks like you know what your doing with those trees, impressive.
that moment when you realize that a chipper with a winch is what I should have got.... or a mini skid to put the whole friggin tree into the chipper at once...
try a ryans grapple on that mini. there is no comparison between the vermeer and ryans grapple. I have one here in NH and love it. Great videos bro. looking forward to watching the rest of them.
Vermeer gave me another mini well mine was getting work done and they brought up the Vermeer grapple. In my opinion it did not have any reach. If you've never had one you're going to think it was incredible but when you go to the Ryan's you'll see how much thought went into their design. When I pick up a log and I load it from the side of my dump trailer I can reach in and set it down in the center of the trailer. When I use the Vermeer I could barely get it over the edge because the wheels stick out on the side of the trailer and was limited by having a drop the log as opposed to setting it down.
I can try to send you some video in a couple weeks of me using the Ryans grapple on my mini. I have a GoPro setup to get footage. I just haven't edited anything. Trust me though you would love it. I'm not sure if you own a mini or not yet but I don't handle wood anymore. All the brush gets picked up with the ryans grapple and all the logs too. It feeds the chipper and loads logs onto my dump trailer. That combination was the first equipment I bought for my business and now I'm on my second Mini. I have a 6 inch chipper and a 12-inch chipper. And I just bought a chip truck all within a couple years. Plus I'm just a 2 man company but with the mini were competing very hard with the larger tree services.
Dude this is what I do when I run into a wasps, yellow, hornet nest I find the source then I get my leaf Sucker/Blower and I Suck them all up, once you get the nest they could care less about anything but the nest, so when the stragglers start to come back from the harvesting you get them all. Leaf Sucker with a bragger, trust me.
This is wonderful but the cost of all of these equipment is passed on to the customer. For that reason, I prefer a tree man with nothing but his chainsaw.
sahmadi1000 yeah the only problem with that is without equipment the labor is insane, plus puts workers bodies at more risk to injury from lifting pushing and twisting too much. As an arborist myself I can say an appropriate amount of equipment can reduce the customers cost
you chose a strange youtube handle for someone with so little compassion, mr. sahmadi. If all you care about is price, you can find some toothless wonder with a saw to drop a tree on your house

Cool video, 1st time viewer
How did you get your climbing line set so high?
Patriot Arborist climb up and set it
Take a look at the new one they've just released, it's bigger than the 725 and the 800 👍🏻
on it!
That video blows! I'm a Vermeer Dealer representative in Poland (Europe) - Is it possible that I can use your movie to promote Vermeer mini skid steers in my country? Thank you in advance.

Love to help. AugustHunicke@gmail.com
BHRudaVERMEER, so when you say “blows” I guess it’s a good thing in Poland. In US “blows” isn’t very good.
cool video that tree crawler works nice . cotton wood trees man they suck so brittle and not really good for firewood . You made short work out it i like the drone footage . be safe look forward more videos
August Hunicke, The tree guy .As bullet proof as a Hero camera. Yaa!
Another great video ... the ending was really cool!!!
think about the versatility, u could haul it on the tongue of chipper with a lil platform
Nice, can't got wrong with that machine. Now you need a dump trailer !
your a bad ass august, love the video
Nice!!!
Because I’m not the plumber I can’t charge extra. The truest thing I’ve ever heard!!!!!
4:56 What does the remote do?
39gadget winch on truck

Awesome idea. I'll try it out and post the results. Probably be summertime though…
Sooo... did U buy one?
Alex Armga ya a ctx100

Thank you, yeah this seems like a good fit. Such great service/interaction.
I had to turn the volume down just after 4:10 so the other half doesn't think I am watching porn (again haha)
Nice tool.
Haw much does that one weigh?
I don't know
Recon an s10 would hual one around?
Vermeer finally shows up at 4:55
Lift capacity ?
Don't know bout this one, but the Vermeer I bought is 1035 lbs
August Hunicke Love it!....Wish I was 35 again 😑
Large pile of dog shyt.
A little too much editing for my taste. Like to focus a bit longer to see what is going on. Just my two cents. Looks like you know what your doing with those trees, impressive.
Need a tree mech
Avant is amazing i have 528 with bmg and it will lift anything... literally!
that moment when you realize that a chipper with a winch is what I should have got....
or a mini skid to put the whole friggin tree into the chipper at once...
try a ryans grapple on that mini. there is no comparison between the vermeer and ryans grapple. I have one here in NH and love it. Great videos bro. looking forward to watching the rest of them.
Thanks. Do you think better than the Vermeer grapple. I really like the Vermeer grapple.
+August Hunicke you run them both?

cost of that grapple?
Roger Evans $3000

I have never had a leaf sucker. We have a blower on hand though but that doesn't seem helpful.
doesn't pick up enough weight
Not buying this one though. A bigger one. And it is still narrow enough to fit through a 36 inch gate.
Okay so you know what you're doing I think you could stop showing off now lol Anyway yet good video
+Christopher Sinni hehehe 👊🏼😆
Hey I'm a plumber .That's not true . Well maybe sometimes. Carry on.
This is wonderful but the cost of all of these equipment is passed on to the customer. For that reason, I prefer a tree man with nothing but his chainsaw.
