- Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre responded to the Liberal government's 2024 budget after it was tabled in the House of Commons on April 16.
we are paying more for national debt interest than for the universal healthcare! let that sink in

I don't believe he ever said when the budget will balance itself. It's theoretically possible that given an infinite amount of time, the budget will randomly settle on balanced outcome at some point. We need to export our clean burning LNG to friend and foe to get them off coal. Imposing 10 years of misery on us to "possibly" change the carbon emissions by "maybe 1.4% is insane. We could lower global carbon by 20%+ just by exporting all the LNG we can pump. Bit better than 1.4% and starving and freezing the lower half of Canadians don't you think Guilbault?
