- #CarnivalVenezia is the first ship of the new "Italian" concept offered by Carnival Cruise Line. I was skeptical at first, especially with the ship/concept/port getting such mixed reviews, but when a steal of a deal popped up, I knew I had to go try it out for myself. This is my full account of that unique solo experience. In this video, I go over what I liked, what I didn't like, and give some overall thoughts about my Venezia experience! I understand the nickel and diming part, but in retrospect...have you gone to a theatre recently and bought popcorn? I'm happy with $4 price point if I do want some popcorn lol! It could be a lot worse.
I've been on Venezia 3 times(including the inaugural sailing). The staff has always been great. I loved the food and I just love cruising and getting away for a while. Cruising on Venezia 4 times this year including an upcoming back to back

Thanks for your views/opinions. We’re heading on the Venezia to Canada in September and I’m excited! I wanted to go to Canada since I’ve only done the Caribbean for 16 cruises. I wanted to always leave out of NY and lastly I wanted to check out a new kind of ship. Carnival is starting to annoy me with all their nickel and dimming, but I’m glad dinner was good as that’s not been so great on my last few. I watched all your videos of this series, I’m just not a commenter as I watch on my TV but have to go to my phone to comment. Thanks for doing a great job!

Oh definitely, the Carnival Quest game gets pretty crazy.
I refill the water bottles from the sink. Their water is filtered and very good!

I stayed at the Hudson River Hotel. It’s not the fanciest ever, but it was fine for the night, and it’s very close to Pier 88 where the ship is located.

Oh nice! I’ll be on Carnival Jubilee out of Galveston in Nov, but definitely would be perfectly happy up there on Venezia.
You said you went solo on this cruise. What did you do for dining? Did you get any share tables? I don't want to eat alone.

I couldn’t buy a drink and a water at the same time. It was a little surprising. I didn’t have the drink package.

I disagree. Oasis of the Seas was crowded on sea days. You couldn’t move!
Hello did they have an iron room on board, if not what was the alternative?
No irons or ironing boards because of fire concerns. I just bring a dewrinkle spray, and that seems to work for most things. Just make sure you hang up evening clothes as soon as your luggage is delivered. They also have laundry service on board. Some of my friends submit their fancy clothes on day one to have it ready for elegant night.

The ship looks nice but the food is awful in the main dining room and the buffet. If your room is on deck 2, you can forget about getting any sleep. The galley is on deck 3, and there is 24/7 banging very loud. Don't bother playing bingo because the winner is predetermined. I guess there too lazy to use a regular ball dispense machine. My first sailing on Carnival and my last. Ship is clogged with people on scooters.
Oh wow! Sounds awful. My experience wasn’t nearly that bad, and my friends and I got quite a few casino comps/perks. Every sailing is different, I guess. I’m sorry Carnival let you down. Happy sailing.
Ok full disclosure I am a New Yorker and I love my city but I will never ever cruise out of the New York Port again. I love Carnival I take a cruise every year this was the first time I was able to agree with the Walmart of the sea title. The class of people on this cruise is just awful and I spoke to so many staff members that stated they hated it.
I’ve heard that from others also, both about Carnival in Manhattan and MSC in Brooklyn. That’s not been my experience, but it does seem to be a concern/issue for people.
