It's even got the tabs to all his basslines written on the guitar!
lol
clack clakc clack open note.
Haha nice!!
Everyone: omg why is ur bass so different?!?!?
Fieldy: it's because the neck's white
MusicAfterDeath 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂
@@richrobb2977 neck is wide
The strings glow
@@rcengineer no that was his green one
He sometimes changed the strings to green instead of blue strings
"Cant you guys just make me a wood bass you know wood where its paint like black wood paint"
Sounds like one hell of a description for Ibanez to go on. Jesus christ this guy is amazing.
+Suni Battles every time he said paint I cringed.
Yea I was way confused about that lol.. he contradicted himself several times when explaining that..
That IQ is definitely below 100.
Don't smoke weed and read books.
@@stevemuzak8526 ok, ill avoid both
Why does everyone always talk shit on fieldy?? Because of him I ordered an Ibanez and have been trying to teach myself to play bass, I've always loved the unique sound his playing has made Korn sound over the years
Damon Widmer same dude, i got a bass because of him too
its because of how simple his playing is
💯
The first Korn record, man. I’m currently 16, and I’ve been learning the bass for almost a year. After hearing the verse bass lines in Ball Tongue, I was like, “hey, I wanna be able to do that.”
As simple as the bass lines can be, they’re lowkey soulful.😂 Listening to Korn for theory-abundant arrangements is like going to Pizza Hut for taquitos. Korn’s had that simple, heavy, and groovy formula for almost 30 years. It’s what made them them.
@@vinchenzomoralesiii2606 glad that keeps happening, I'm 29, fell into Korn and bass at the same age as you are, enjoy 😎🤙
Fieldy plays bass that best suites KoRn, is he the best bassist ever? No. Is he the best bassist for the Legendary KoRn? Absolutely fucking yes. The hate he gets is just pretentious bassists who were trained in jazz and think they know what good is. When its all situational and Subjective. There is no right way to play bass. But Fieldy knows the right way to play KoRn. Long live Fieldy!
Thankyou. People are such haters.
I think he is the best bassist ever I want to be like feildy
100%! Same applies to art,sports/ athletes!
"There's some buzz about this band korn down there, which is us."
You don't say Fieldy.
I truly miss my SR. It was the best bass I ever played. Had to sell it on hard times. Looking at new ones now!
nameless76 mozwhaz man try to get a SR505
That is what I want. Love that low b. My old one was a SR400L cuz I'm a lefty and it was great.
nameless76 mozwhaz yea man if you want korn clicky bass tone an Sr505 is the one I use a GSR205B and I get a pretty good click like Korn
That's cool. I was just learning some slap techniques when I had to sell my 400L. Was learning some Primus tunes as well. My guitar will have to do until I get my new 505. I was looking at a deal on two Cort basses also (1) 5 string and a single pickup 4 string am considering making an offer on the two of them. Ya I play guitar too and used to play drums but damn I miss my basses.
Dude... U should try a Japanese SDGR SR 885, it's a LEGIT gear! 🙌
Things I learned:
"I made this white, bro, so like, super special...all stock....but white."
I didn't even know they made colored strings, those look rad.
Depending on the materials they do feel slightly different but they're rad
They're not just colored, they glow when the black lights hit em. DR Neons. It's a gimmick.
Great speech! ... (wonder what the bass sounds like...)
From all I have heard and read, it's a great bass, and sounds great even when playing a variety of styles.
It sounds exactly like how it does in KoRn you know how you here that clicks sound in the background? Thats the bass it's a very good and cool bass and it is much worth getting I'm hopefully getting mine pretty soon
+Tekonix to each their own. After I picked up bass and learned where that click was coming from, I thought it was their drummer doing it, I couldn't unhear it and it just sours their music in my opinion. I hope you like the bass though, I've got a sound gear I play too and it's great.
Meh. Buy a warwick lol
He's still learning
When you have to give a school presentation when you aren't prepared.

I love that he gave Front Porch music a shout out! I've been in there years ago. Little music store in nowhere (Bakersfield) CA.
Country musicans know it mostly. Lots of country roots before Korn's time. Buck Owens and Merle Haggard called it home. They even developed "the Bakersfield Sound." Lots of acts still come though pretty regularly, COVID restrictions excepted. ;) Also known for agriculture and oil. Not nowhere, just off the radar. ;)
So I was in the music store, trying out a bass... Which is this thing right here, and I asked them why it sounds so klicky and stringy. They told me it was from the strings I was slapping because the bass had strings. This is where they had me and I just had to have it, yo!
i love my Ibanez SR505 because of that Clicky sound too, specially down tuning the strings. 😎🤘
I'm getting a gsr206 because of Ryan Martinie but I might up getting an gsr205 to get the clicky fieldy bass tone.
I got the sr705 and I’m a big fan. Bartolini pickups, great neck, and 5 strings
"Bass good. White paint taste funny, want black paint wood paint. Me like make thump wow sounds."
Thank you, Captain Caveman.
...
fuck off clown
such a unique look to an already awesome looking bass.
My Fave Bass player Fieldy 🤘
3:42 is too much time for Fieldy to review any instrument.
From this video I've summed up that he's at least 80% sure that the big wooden thing in his hands is probably a Bass guitar.
He talks so much about the looks that could be a racquetball.
do u have grammy? have you sold millions of albums? Have you inspired thousands of young people to play bass? You probably cant even slap.
@@marklar2012it was a joke, fanboy, lighten up
We need a video with Fieldy playing around on the K5LTDFGM.
I like that it's basically stock. Just goes to prove that the sound is in the player, not so much the gear. :)
I don't know why, but I've never had a good impression 'bout this guy, even though I love Korn. But after seeing this, my respect for him is totally restored. A guy who loves his instrument so much and reflects on that level is a cool guy in my book! Sweet bass too
That does look like an awesome bass.
This video makes me realize why I am here on earth. I freakin' Love Korn. Much love Fieldy!!! You inspre me. Never Never is the best song of all time!!!
Bass looks epic I want it
So, which colour is the neck again?
lol.... this guy always makes me feel a million times better about my ability/knowledge as a musician. Even as a self taught musician I at least made the effort to learn (still am learning 20 years later) certain things about music to better myself, especially the makeup of instruments and the variables that change the tones and way they play...
bullet points taken away from this video.
. bass is white
. "fret thingy" - white
. has batteries.... they do stuff
also, surprised Ibanez didn't drop his ass after he basically said they stopped innovating new ways to produce instruments.... what a great spokesman for your company!! Just cause he doesn't care to grow and develop into a better musician, doesn't mean Ibanez did the same with their instruments.... still prefer a solid ass Jackson all day, but Ibanez does make really easy to play, low cost basses, least imo
I'm pretty sure Ibanez had plenty to go on. Fieldy didn't need to tell them how he wanted it to sound, because everyone knows how Fieldy wants it to sound, so all they needed was to perfect it's ability to play that tone. You don't have to know all that goes into a car to know what you want in it, and the same goes for instruments.
+Stabs McShanky sure, to get/drive a car you don't need to know everything about it but if you were a pro racer you should know everything about how it works and what makes it perform better, same goes for him being a "professional" musician and his rig. Hell, even if you aren't doing something professionally you still should have enough info to at least make an informed decision. I bet car dealers love your "blind buy" approach to life, have fun driving overpriced lemons the rest of your life.
It was an example, I actually do all the work on my own car. He probably doesn't know how to explain what the actual specs are, but I bet he sat down with the techs and they gave him examples, and tinkered with the mechanics and he guided the sound as they modified it, or something along those lines.
Douche
@Random dude That's difference with technical-knowledge and artistic creativty, all haters from Fieldy are frustrated because they haven't creativity ^^
Everything coming full circle would be David back behind the drum set
Rule #2 definitely applies to this guy.
HAHA Yes!
BINGO!
Hell yeah lol
iDemandU90 what’s rule 2?
As much as I love the look of signature guitars and bases. I never felt the urge to actually purchase one, mainly because I’d like to have my own identity even though I’m not a famous rockstar. I still like to swap pick ups experimenting with different brands, different tones. as well as mess around with the pots, and volume knobs all that stuff, so I feel like it’s my own signature guitar you know?
I'm starting to get into bass what should be the first Ibanez? I'm thinking of the Sr250?
Jay _Hawk ibanez are good dont get me wrong, but they are one trick ponies. Its true. Though you can play other things, its geared towards metal. If you're getting into bass, or given the 1 year time of this comments upload, if you still haven't, just accumulate the funds regardless and pick up a Warwick. Great wood body basses with an ABSOLUTELY UNMATCHED tone. Warm and versatile. There's two potential cons though. 1. Price tag. (U can buy used for like a third of the price 400-600 for entry level. Don't be surprised If its shit condition though) 2. You might never want to play another brand again. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The low end is great for teenagers and such moving into their first instrument of the type, because parents don't have to fork out a lot of money for an instrument their kids might not even play after a year...
If you're serious about starting bass, I'd say look at a budget of around $500-$600... You get better woods, electronics, strings, tuning machines, etc., which will greatly help your overall sound and keep you motivated to keep practicing. :)
(I see the original comment is over 3 years old, so the OP probably has moved well beyond the SR250 at this point, but just in case any other newbies come across this comment, this might help them) :)
So what colors does it come in?
what is the cap of fieldy wearing.i just want to know i love it :)
I hope you guys also stay the same like in the early days ;) Nova 2016!
This should be listed in the comedy genre
and how does it sound?
it sounds the same as his other models... he said so in the video
ah okay...
Like skeletons in a metal trash can rolling down a hill, if he had it set up for himself.
Like Tic Tacs thrown down a stairwell .
whillop lmfao😂
i like that its literally a stock ibanez with white privilege
Why ? Because hard working white people can afford it ?
Wtf j cuz it’s expensive doesn’t mean u have to be white u know fields didn’t grow up with much privilege
@@abagz3919 the joke is that its white mate
The new LTD has green privilege... With pink victim statuses.... ;)
does he always play colored strings?
yes
No

i dont know
Andrei Borodaenko because. its nice at a concert
Haters are hating. N' they're hating good. You've been warned.
WELL ppl im huge fan of korn and i teach music there is a difference between success and excellence you all choose "excellence" he chose success all I can read is people being jealous cause he is successful as fucking hell. ppl stop bitching, Korn is one of the biggest bands in the world, what you got to show for?
Korn is a success story and everyone is peeved that they can't get that sort of success with their superiority complexes.
Jake Moresea i think that is fucked up
+Antonio Ruiz i do to
we got morons bashing fieldy saying he's a embarrassement to all bass players everywhere ? wtf! his style of bass is awesome and its different
+Branden Vargo I wouldn't call it awesome at all. It's not very skillful or even good sounding to my ears. But to each their own. If it works, then so be it. But I do think their music could improve if they had him play more interesting things or got a new bass player who is more skilled.
It reminds me of the all white "Cloud" guitar Prince used to play in "Purple rain"
Looks so nice. Prefer the old mahogany look. Loved my k5 so much. One of the most versatile bass' out there Imo.
What is the difference between K5 and sr956ewn?
That white fingerboard reminds me Larry Graham's bass
What’s the name of the background song? I know it’s a Korn song. Or I think it is...
I love the Soundgear basses
Translation.
So pretty much I played guitar before bass, I went into a shop and saw a bass and was like Wow!, the neck is like, smaller and it has like one less string. Our band started doing better and became popular and Ibanez asked if I wanted a signature bass and I was like sure man! I don't know a thing about my instrument other than I slap it and it sounds pretty cool within our band because fuck it right I'm just percussion anyway!. So years later I give even less fucks, took a few pointers from Lars except I guess I can play a little better! not like a beginner can get worse than a beginner right! they make me a 20 year anniversary bass and I'm all like hey man, my hand slips all over this instrument! really strange cause I don't really hear alot of other musicians say this but hey, can you make me a white wood bass thats like.. white and not a whole lot else, even make the like.. fret neck thing white cause I wana be unique. They were all like sure and I was like aww cool man. I put glow in the dark strings on my bass cause it kinda changes the tone of like my style and hey I put stickers on it cause I'm like a 8 year old angsty girl.
lol gold
dude, shit had me crying I was laughing so hard. this guy is a disgrace to bassists everywhere.
Jeffmetal 42 hell yeah. I cringe when I see him. I dont know how one can be so shit after touring for so long
+Philip Sebestyen he is a perfect example of a "musician" in a band for the sole reason to become a rich rock star. Any real musician who honestly loves music, no matter the genre they are in, would at least make a half assed effort to progress and especially learn more about their instrument(s). He stopped giving a shit completely once he realized he could coast off what little talent he has, called it a day, and focused more on the rock star part of being in a band. I'd call him an entrepreneur (not even a good one) and a hype man (still... not a good one) more so than a musician.
+Philip Sebestyen also ended up on a video of Mudvayne's bassist filling in for Feildy and his playing and tone made a MASSIVE difference in the heaviness of the music. They should have (probably wanted to) kept him but the fans are stubborn and only want the original members (example : still crying bout the old drummer when the new guy is 100x's the player). I know how they think because I was a teenager once.... actually used to like them til I picked up guitar and realized they weren't good musicians to look up to (why I went from Metallica, Sepultura, Pantera to Korn?.... well, it was a fad, that's all Korn are, a fad with few life long fans, hence them playing small venues mostly now.) Metallica is still playing arenas tho.
Looks Good
Fieldy or the Bass ? ;-)
picture on the wall
RottenCryptStudios OK.
I'm about to pick up an Ibanez SR 400
Anyone know what knob does what?
I don't even play bass, but I want it, haha
U would love bass it's insanely fun
Open, 2 & 3. Ok release it!
I miss fieldy in korn that new guy sux
What strings does he use
Does anyone know where can i purchase it? Am i supposed to go to a real-life store and buy it? :)
what's the song that plays in all the video?
Never never off their last album the Paradigm Shift
Stu 666 which was a fucking
Gggrrreat album by the way. Many people disagree, but i say alot of that is owed to heads return. 👍
This is my first time seeing Fieldy with grey hair. GOD I'M GETTING OLD!!!!
Does anyone know where to get the xo inlays that he has?
You can print it by yourself, or ask to print in sticker market
yeah they are just stickers
"Why is there a battery in this bass?" -Professional bass player
it was 20 years ago, and he was playing guitar before
well at least you tried
He asked that question in the music store long before Korn was even a thought.. you were a beginner at once as well as were we all, right?
This was when he was first starting out...
Does anybody know what type of strings are on this bass ?
DR neons
nephilymbass1 and he strung them up wrong... cut them too short.
nsvasquez
Not really though. 2-3 windings is more then enough.
I was listening to 'Got the Life' way to loud while watching this.....yeas best bass ever, need one in my life, cant play though lol
4 minutes on how it looks.
Everybody clicked on a video of fieldy holding onto a bass and looking directly at a camera as if talking to, with the title" fieldy from korn on his bass" (meaning his thoughts) than complains because he expressed his thoughts and didn't play his bass. I'm....so...lost in how people are this confused. Lol. Only in a world full of......
siempre vuelvo a ver este video :'V
And he doesn't even play the thing...
When exactly he plays this bass in this video?
triple efe When exactly has ever actually played the bass period?
Not really.
No.. Actually a dude with a shotty killed Dimebag..
Pistol
Man I love Fieldy and I think he really is a good player in his own way. He has his own sound which most of the people talking shit about him most likely do not, or don’t even play. However, I will agree that every time I watch a video with him talking about riffs, music or his bass gear it is rather ridiculous that he knows almost nothing after being around it more than half his life. Thats ok though, not every musician is a super gear nerd
Fieldy definitely had the passion and helped give Korn their badassery. Nuff said.
Can someone Tell Me WHAT that Song in the beginning is called!
Never never
no dreads fieldy?
What strings does he use! I need to know
CornUni DR strings
... THAT'S FUKIN BEAUTIFUL... I LOVE IT !!! K-5.... SWEEEEEEEEET !!!
Model is his bass based off of I want it but I don’t want the K5 on it
um... can we hear what it sounds like?
I like how everyone talks mad shit on Fieldy, he inspired me, yeah I got made fun of playing like him a few time but shit he’s better at finding the tone with the music then I am. And what about the mother fuckers that slap on a guitar like him 🤷🏽♂️
I'm waiting he played the bass until ITS over
Bakersfield represent
yeah
Alright I can agree that bass looks pretty cool I guess. But I thought he was going to play some of his favorite riffs or something.
I think it's the glow in the dark green strings not the bass that people react to.
That bass makes me jealous
I prefer Ibanez myself. Very consistent guitar.
TOCA BEM , DÁ PRA ESCUTAR BEM O BARULHO DAS CORDAS BATENDO ,ACHO DÁ HORA O SOM DOS CARAS.
Como suena??????
I like how he never plays it once for the camera.
@ 1:50 dude i've got that hat, no fucking way \m/
i love how everyone is flaming him in the comments lmao
How was this man playing for this long without knowing what active pick ups are??
Headbanger9000 He said he played guitar first so maybe he didn't know how they sounded on a bass
+Camper H8TR there are guitars with active pick ups too....
+Camper H8TR basically, he doesnt know a god damn thing about his instrument. Im not famous or anything and Im not bashing his actual playing but GOD DAMN, he really doesnt know a fucking thing about the bass guitar. Im a bass player myself, I started playing when I was around 12 yrs old and one of the first things I did was learn about the instrument. its what youre supposed to do. Youre a friggin moron if you play for 30 yrs and not know what a kill switch does. Sorry but you MUST know your instrument, its a fuckin requirement if you actually think about taking any music seriously. That is basically like having a handy man who doesnt know what half of the tools in his bag are used for
Headbanger9000 he's talking about when he was way younger
Are you mad because you couldn't get anywhere?
Dope AF
Fieldy in awe over the uniqueness of a white bass, obviously doesn’t realise Larry Graham has been using white basses since the 70s smh
The bass would look a lot better with an ebony fretboard
He didn't play it cause he didn't know what to play lol, but it's a nice sounding bass,. I have one thats a mahogany finish from 2004,. It's not a warwick but still worthy from ibanez
He should have left the inlays on the production model.
check
He looks like Dave Navarro's brother
I love how haters are like "oh a video i don't like! Better talk shit on it"
Satan people dont know whats it like. Then they leave their comments. Yay....or.....nay.
Had to be a smart ass 😂
all the knobs are the same
FIELDY BEEEESST FUCKING BAJO :-)
navarros twin.
And he never played a lick on camera....
He got a crucified jesus on his face
best bassist on the planet
Man when hearing him talk about it you can tell he really doesnt know very much about his instrument.
Do you have grammy? Have you sold millions of albums? Have you inspired thousands of ppl to play bass? You probably cant even slap on bass…
