We are on the ground at Watches and Wonders 2023 in Geneva and in this video, we’ll share our thoughts on Panerai’s impressive array of new releases. It is definitely the year of the Radiomir and we have new models including several Otto Giorni variations, a striking green California dial, Annual Calendars, and the 40mm Quaranta. What do you guys think of the new additions to Panerai’s collection?

But what if they only stay honest while you are a future customer, and once you leave the future realm perhaps they will cheat, steal and lie to EVERYONE because they don't need to worry about you being a future customer anymore???? Or perhaps you switching from a future customer to a customer of the past will create a rip in the space-time continuum and will render the watches less accurate?????
Really pleased to see Panerai innovating and exploring DESIGN - not just rotating metals and colours like the others. Both the new California dial and Annual Calendar stand out in a sea of same-ness from the big names. Keep it up and I’ll be buying.

Once again good job, I really like they’re changing their watch sizes to reach a different out to more type a clients, no just collectors.
Love all of these pieces. Panerai is definitely heading in the right direction, while respecting and holding on to their roots.
They need to drop the price to $6k, start using a genuine in house movement vs a Richemont Val Fleurier, and reverse the trend of cost cutting within the watch before we start this conversation.
The California is pretty damn sweet, I must say. :)

But I do really like the Radiomirs in 45. Could even go 44 or 43. 47 doesn't fit me, imo, and I have a 44 mm Luminor.
The Radiomir wears smaller than you would think.

Sure. But 47 mm is still too big for most people, imo. 45 is much more wearable.
Never considered the Radiomir before always preferred the Luminor but these are truly amazing.
I usually never give Panerai a second look, but apart from the California, these watches are all very attractive.
The California is the best looking of these by far. Wouldn't even consider the others for myself.
Just bought myself a 44 Luminor, and now I’m considering the Radiomir 40 as my next purchase. Stunning watch!

High prices are attractive to brush the ego and create a distance for the wealthy. Watch design is everywhere now some fantastic micro brands offering super cool for real money not this fantasy world for the rich.
True, Panerai at 12k$ does not make much sense .. but yeah, inflation:)
I agree, the only thing that makes sense at retail is Tudor or buying all these beautiful watches with a hefty discount on the grey market 😅

Ive never been a huge Panerai fan but that annual calendar is mind blowing. I actually like all of these models quite a bit.

Tbh, I’m not a big fan of Panerai and I had a Luminor Marina 1950 that I wore for a few years then sold. These Radiomirs seem more exquisite with elaborate complications and dressier. I wore my Luminor once with a suit and cuplinks but didn’t feel like it worked because of its size…kinda like wearing my Air Jordans with a suit lol!

Love Panerai. Just bought a Due. Gray sunburst dial. Dark Brown alligator strap. Beautiful. My favorite watches. 👍
Really like their releases. Especially the 1349. Just needs a sandwich dial and it'd be the perfect Radiomir.
Never seen a california dial with a sandwich style construction, it's really not a thing in the Panerai catalogue of california dials.

I expect the Quaranta to have a better movement finish for that hefty price.
Also I'm still not convinced with the 50m WR. I get it, its a dress watch but you cant disassociate the diving history of the brand.
The remake of the 424 with the pam 5000 in green is nice and the 8 days is a welcome change. Interesting that they dropped it 2MM and no logo. I just dont see the price tag justified at $12,500 when you can get the 424 at $8k and grey market at $5k. I do love Panerai.

They did some marketing "mistakes" that ppl struggling to forget.
They also could do better with their calibers aesthetic with this price tag.

Loving Panerai these days.
I love the Radiomir except for the sub-seconds hand. It not only displaces the beautiful number 9 on the sandwich dial, but it is chubby and round. If they had centre seconds I definitely would go for one, but they probably never will.
I have had at least eight different Panerai and love them but they need to do a 42mm with a California dial!

The burgundy dial on the calendar watch is outstanding. Way out of my price range 😂but gorgeous nevertheless.
For me, they should put more emphasis on new and innovative rubber straps. I would never wear a panerai on leather, for me being able to swim in it is part of the entire ethos of the brand.
Love the annual calendar….maybe eventually needs to come out in steel…what is Goldtech? I guess there formula of gold??

Pretty watches from the front for sure. As a PAM1351 owner, what I’m seeing here is Panerai still failing to deliver on movement finishing. If you’re going to have a display case back, I’d like to see something worth displaying.
I decided to give that blue-dial 8-day radiomir a try. It will arrive in a few days. 45mm is pushing it...but hopefully it doesn't feel too big.
Received my watch. It's a fantastic looking watch, the "gunmetal grey" case just works, and surprisingly it is not as big as I expected. It feels smaller than my 44mm 111 which I've had for 15 years and also smaller than my 44mm eSteel submersible that I bought last year. Very wearable and looks great on the wrist. I'm a fan...but will experiment a bit with straps. I might want something different than the blue strap even though it's very nice; between the blue dial and strap it's just a lot of blue so I'll try some other strap options.
The Radiomir is my favorite Panerai line. I was worried last year, when they removed a lot of Radiomir options, that the line was being slimmed down. Glad to see they are still committed to it. Great releases.

I used to not like the radiomir but now I'm really loving them. I'd be happy with the base logo. I'd love to have that California dial but that's too rich for me.
The issue with Panerai is not with the watch, is the company. Still great to hear a bit of Italian
The first watch was the first time any Panerai has turned my head. I love the the aged steel look. However, the price is probably still a no go for me.
No mention of the water resistance, I hope it’s more than 5bar.
Thank ou TEDDY for the video. I was a PANERAI fan 20 years ago. It was new in France, they made advertising. It was so rare a lot of people wish to get a PANERAI . Today, it is still great watches for a lot of customers. It is not for me . I got a problem with the design (to large, to heavy) . With your videos i know that i can find at least 20 watches that i truly like from OMEGA, JLC, BREGUET, VACHERON CONSTANTIN or LONGINES .
Really love that new Blue dialed Radiomir!! Also like that they've slimmed the cases down a bit compared to the Panerai's I own.

I agree with Panerai that they should call the blank faced watch that’s unrecognizable the California. Very fitting indeed.
I mean it's great they're diversifying but trying to get $88k for annual calendar with okay dial and lacklustre finishing is kinda mind-blowing. They are charging over patek prices lol. Good luck to you panerai.
Back in the late 90s no one was interested in Panerai watches except for a few collectors. The watches were simple back then, many models being hand wound. I remember seeing an entry level Panerai for $2500 new. The prices have gone up. Changes have been made to metals used in case design. And some of their movements have greater complications. The watch is not for everyone. The cases are oversized and too thick for many wrists. But there is still the Italian heritage tied to the watch, its use in the Navy, and an international group of serious Panerai collectors.

Thank you so much Teddy for your videos! Could you put in a word for us, that even after "shrinking" the sizes of some of these pieces to 45mm, its still not quite feasible for many of us mere mortals? 🤣
Have you acutally tried one on? Panerai wears smaller than you'd expect just by looking at the measurements. They're almost square, so the lug to lug is basically equal to the width. The lug to lug is really what people should be looking at.
@@staceygram5555 For someone who has a wrist size of ~6.25-6.5, and having tried many pieces from Panerai, 42mm in that cushion shape is already pushing it... 45mm is definitely not feasible... unless I really want to go for a super super oversized look 😂.
Don't get me wrong I love the panerai design language, I just hope they drop the size by a bit more on some of these fantastic pieces...

Alright. Fair enough. My 914 wears perfect on my 7 inch wrist. But it sounds like you've already made an attempt :)
Most people don't realize that case shape is that important. A JLC Grande Reverso is only 32 mm wide but actually has a lug to lug that is 1 mm larger than your standard 44 mm Luminor.
At what price point does it become unjustifiable to buy a watch? 😅

Finally an old brand, adding some style to their watches. I’m so tired of these old ass brands with these plain ass black and white watches, as if they’re terrified of change. You can have quality, precision and style.
How much is the cost to make one of these $10000+ watches?

Very nice releases but holy shit the prices are HIGH. Does anyone buy these? Very nice pieces but I can't justify spending more than 12,000 bucks on a Panerai watch which doesn't even have a running seconds hand.
It really is a pitty that Panerai is still acting like Stallone and Schwarzenegger are their only customers...2023 and they still release 45mm watches 🤦🏻♂️

The watches are beautiful, both technically but special the design language.
Unfortunately for the size and price many of us are cut out from owning them.
Have you ever actually tried one on? The lug to lug is basically the same as the width, so they wear smaller than the measurement would suggest.

Yes I tried them, I live in Milan. There are 3 places that display/sell them.
I wear 38mm so there's no way in hell these monsters will wear like an under 40mm watch, sorry.

A Grande Reverso has a larger lug to lug than a Luminor. It's not all about the width, but okay.
