This scene plus the one where she dances in the rain to one music while the king watches from afar with different music being played cracks me up every time. And honorable mention to all scenes where she throws herself into water. LOL. Shin Hye Sun is a goddess of acting. She can do well in any genre. My absolute favorite actress. Can't wait for her new drama.
Have you seen her in the film " innocence " ? She was brilliant and not a comedic line in sight!! Aside from Mr Queen this film is my favourite with her acting!!

Its the little things, like the handmaid's concern, the way the other chef assistants reacted (especially the broom) and the just cooking itself that really made this for me.

@@melissaagawin1119 I think she was scared. Also very possible Bonghwan was only feeling her feelings. And imagine what would happen if the Cheoljeong found out the person who attracted him was a woman -- he never showed any sign of being attracted to men, so hard to say how he would react

They did make a sequel, and retconned the entire love story between the leads Don't watch it, it's not worth it.

Distort history? The show is about a male chef who time travels into a womans body in the past and sometimes makes modern dishes in the past, im sure people who are watching are aware its fictional 😭😭

My first 10/10 KDrama. Hye-sun had to play a modern guy soul who got trapped inside a joseon queen and had to pretend to be a joseon queen. And she killed the layered role perfectly.
Add to the fact that she actually took cooking class to play this chef as well as doing that knife spin. Shin Hye-sun is a goddess.

This show is like an entire cooking show. Episodes 1-10 feels slow and a little bit tedious because the plot ingredients are being prepared. Then comes 11 up to the last episode and we are in a long-brewing plot like a spicy, boiling soup with a satisfying ending. Neither lacking nor "makjang".

One thing: They should’ve shown Jang Bong-hwan showing off the very same knife skills in episode 1-just to show that depending on what time period it is, folks may think he’s that much more impressive. And it serves as a connection between the modern-day and the past.
This is the same trick that writers did for the first “Back to the Future” movie: We first see Marty skateboarding and playing the guitar. In 1985, it looks normal enough. But when he does the same things in 1955, he comes off as being that much more amazing because nobody’s seen anyone skateboard like him and nobody’s heard “Johnny B. Goode” before.

omgg one of my fave kdrama during 2020 its so hilarious
If i could i always opt for dub because moving images coupled by swift texts gives me raging headaches, but in this case i geared up with advil, my glasses and lots of drinking water to binge this gem of a show. Still gave me headaches, but i have no regrets!

I've just finished watching this program it was so awesome, exciting & romantic and sad. definitely needed a box of tissues. I've already watched it a few times. I definitely got some great parts I liked.
She basically made Samyang ramyeon but not spicy. Can't wait till fire chicken noodles challenge drops.
