Have you seen Simon's reaction before first Susan's performance? this highly competent but narcissistic asshole looked at her like he saw shit. Privately, he's just a scoundrel. A wealthy egoist and misogynist who had an affair with the wife of an infertile friend, who for many years had been trying to have a child with the woman he loved, and Simon had picked her up and impregnated her. He was a friend of the house. And the guy who trusted him was left without a wife and a child.
She lived a quiet and humble life for 47 years patiently waiting for her talent to be recognized which she knew she possessed. What a feeling that must have been for her. Beautiful.

Totally agree. That voice is on another level; the only unfortunate part about this is that we - as a society - were robbed of decades of music from her had she gotten the chance sooner!
That young woman who rolled her eyes in the audience probably never rolled them again after hearing this incredible and inspirational woman who we probably can all relate to in one way or another. We all have been the underdog at one point in our lives! She is the Rocky Balboa of singing!
This was the first clip I had ever seen of these talent shows. I still don't watch the showd but when I see something viral on RUclips I'll watch it. And when you think about it. What’s wrong with her appearance? We put so much emphasis on looks. If she had come out as a 20 yr old bomb shell and couldn’t sing a note she would firstly have the judges interest and then been booed off the stage. The public world needs to change the way people’s appearances, which for the most part that’s how they are born are the way they are adjudicated. Susan became more famous and beloved than Elaine and that’s because she can not only sing, but she is humble, sweet and so likeable. I’m not saying Elaine isn’t. I’m saying this lady came out of no where, was ridiculed and then blew thousands of critical audience members right out of their seats. I’m glad Amanda sort of apologised to her. She didn’t want to make it personal so she made it about the whole audience and crew and she was right. Go Susan. This is one of my favourite auditions. The look on Simon’s face was priceless especially when you think how much money he made out of Susan in the end,
@@Soffity The fact that I, who didn't watch it in real time, felt the need to comment on it was just how strong the reaction was. It goes to show that you shouldn't judge things by appearances...

Truly a gift from God. I clearly remember how childlike she was to the point of attempting to just walk off the stage as if ay a school concert , absolutely unassuming and unaware of the gift she had given us.
Susan's performance still gives me goosebumps and tears in my eyes because it's so inspirational and makes me feel warm and good from the inside. She was this awkward, shy spinster living with her cat who found the courage to go in front of the world and take a crack at her dream. And it has paid off for her big time. Just re-visited this after seeing Susan on 2023 BGT and hearing that she's recently had a stroke, bless her, and I'm in bits. Glad I'm on my own here, I got so emotional seeing and remembering how she brought the house down with her amazing voice. You're a legend Susan and you were robbed in the final. You still went on to have the amazing musical career that you dreamed of and I'm wishing you good health and happiness for the future. Love you to bits 💞💞💞
This still touches my heart after all these years. I still get tingles an tears to hear you sing this song. When im sad i listen to this an it gives me hope. You are wonderful susan!!!
After the initial response from the audience as soon as she sang the first line, it is really impossible not to be overwhelmed and manage to keep going. That just shows how down to earth she is and how much she likes singing.
The lyrics to this song are some of the saddest ever sung. The way she sings it sounds victorious, but the final line is still as devastating as ever "My life has killed the dream I dreamed." Ms. Boyle conquers the story of the song by acting a bit cheeky, but then demonstrating what bravery looks like. The tigers come at night, but they don't always tear your hope apart. Ms. Boyle shows that hope is stronger than the tigers.
By now, I must have watched this video 100 times, and I'm still in awe. One of the most beautiful voices I've heard, and a super sweet woman to sing it. I wish her all the success she deserves.
I listen to this about 3-4 times a week. I’ve had nothing but tears in my life the last 2 years since my beloved husband died. But when I listen to the beauty of an angel’s voice my tears dry. And I remember, I LIVED the dream for 38 years. Susan brings my beautiful memories back.
You will see him again. But not yet. Feel the same about my dad. He was my most important supporter and best friend. But I will see him again. Just gotta be patient and live life. Chin up. We gotta keep on keeping on.
Fourteen years ago I bought my mother a cd/radio and Susan Boyles cd she loved to hear her voice even though her eyesight was going it gave her some peace, I had it played at mums cremation. Still miss her.
She’s a very brave woman, you know she knew there would be critics, but she marched up there and blew them all away! I love hearing her, I listen to her a lot! Bless Her☮️
She could have been up there, on that stage, singing for 10 minutes, and no one would've minded. Still today, this performance is the barometer that every other performance will be measured against. Truly a breathtaking moment to experience over and over and over again.
This made me cry, one more blow for the little person, she was magic, I used to tell all my students if someone said you can't then politely ask why not, and go and prove them wrong, and if you fall stand up and go again and never stop. Well do e Susan.
The hosts should be ashamed of themselves how they looked down at her because of her looks. Talent is not noted for belonging to beauty only, but to the artist that knows her thing. Susan Boyle is fantastic and her beautiful voice makes me shiver.
Yeah, I was thinking that too. Not just the judges but a bit of the audience. I like Susan, she's got such a plucky personality, and her voice, my God, what a treasure!
they could just be doubtful in general. I bet they have met thousands of people who think they got talent and all the confident and spunkiness in the world and absolutely no talent to show....
I absolutely love the second judge amanda for standing up and being honest about the obvious cynical judgemental vibe the entire room gave. and saying it was a privilege to listen were the perfect words. truly such an incredible voice
I watched this video so many times and all the time i ask myself why she went to this audition alone? she didn't have anybody to hug and share this wonderful moment
@@suboforever if you are subo, my adoration for you, you stood alone, and rightfully put the world of cynics flat on their ass, your voice is unique and I hope you find happiness.

She was so pure, innocent, honest, crystal, and excellent in her singing that her performance in 2009 has become a real classic and has made the word "hypocrisy" disappear forever on stage ever since then! The world today in 2023, alas, has lost totally the spirit of being full of "Susan Boyle-ness" for quite a long long time! 14 years ago but one can still learn a lot from this video
Susan, You brought down Heaven to Earth. This is what people are feeling. Thank You!
Every time I feel down, I come back to watch this and get inspired again. Thank you forever my beloved Susan Boyle.
I do too. This is Sarah not Alex. Every time I feel sad, this seems to pop up.
Same
same here my pains drift away..
THIS 👆🏻
Same here, lifts me up every time
It's 2024 and I still tear up hearing this
2024. Still the single greatest audition of all time.
Hello Jenny, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Flawless
One of the greatest TV moments ever.
I watch this performance often and I still love it
This still touches my heart after all these years. I still get tingles an tears to hear you sing this song. When im sad i listen to this an it gives me hope. You are wonderful susan!!!
Yes famous now, worth millions and still lives a simple life. Well done her
Don't judge a book by its cover. She is a class apart..... .!!
For sure!!!!!!
I've watched this about a million times, and still love it.
Never judge a book by its cover! Thanks Susan Boyle for your magnificent rendition of the song. The lyrics hit home
Fourteen years later, this still brings tears to my eyes.
😢😢😢😢
Me too
I always tear up when I hear Susan sing this song never judge a book by its cover
Я тоже всегда плачу.
Same!
never!
NUNCA julgue um livro pela capa. Linda demais 🥰
De arrepiar a qualquer um!!!🔥
This never ever gets old. Bravo!!
Okie dokie
The lyrics are trash, the movie is garbage. She turned a pille of shit into a masterpiece.
Húúú, ez gyönyörű, köszönöm szépen Neked, hogy olvashattalak.
Nagyon vonzóan fogalmazol, érezni, hogy lélekből élsz.
10 years now and I still come back for inspiration. I'll never forget this and I still cry.
Same. Tears every single time.
I still get goosebumps when I hear Susan sing. I'm soooo happy she has made her life what she wants it to be.
Hi Lesa❤
hello Lesa how are you doing today??
@@GeorgeCampbell-sz1wu 7:05 6:51
By now, I must have watched this video 100 times, and I'm still in awe. One of the most beautiful voices I've heard, and a super sweet woman to sing it. I wish her all the success she deserves.
Hello Cindy, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I listen to this about 3-4 times a week. I’ve had nothing but tears in my life the last 2 years since my beloved husband died. But when I listen to the beauty of an angel’s voice my tears dry. And I remember, I LIVED the dream for 38 years. Susan brings my beautiful memories back.
❤
You will see him again. But not yet. Feel the same about my dad. He was my most important supporter and best friend. But I will see him again. Just gotta be patient and live life. Chin up. We gotta keep on keeping on.
How’re you and your lovely family doing over there??
❤
Plain looking woman stands up in front of world and releases angels into air
Fourteen years ago I bought my mother a cd/radio and Susan Boyles cd she loved to hear her voice even though her eyesight was going it gave her some peace, I had it played at mums cremation. Still miss her.
She deserved a golden buzzer, if there was one. Definitely
STILL WATCHING ON THE 4th of JULY 2024
This never fails to bring a tear to my eyes
This made me cry, one more blow for the little person, she was magic, I used to tell all my students if someone said you can't then politely ask why not, and go and prove them wrong, and if you fall stand up and go again and never stop. Well do e Susan.
She’s so modest and sweet. I’m so glad Simon took her under his wing and guided her through some rough spots. She’s wonderful.
Me too. In tears every time I watch this.
When ever I hear this. Never ever get old
Yeah same so sad she passed away
@@pandaghostworld Really? Can't find any info on that.
It’s 2024 and Susan still pops up on my feed . I think the RUclips algorithm has a way to know when I need a cheering up.😊😊
I definitely agree!!!!!
If that want good I put a boot upper ass
Only the girl judge looked down on her
Wouldn’t have been an interesting video if they didn’t make fun of her either. Besides she knew her talents, she knew she was about to blow them away
I absolutely love the second judge amanda for standing up and being honest about the obvious cynical judgemental vibe the entire room gave. and saying it was a privilege to listen were the perfect words. truly such an incredible voice
Hello ❤❤❤😊
10 years down the line and this clip still touches my soul. Love from Africa.
Same here! This is one of my all-time favorite auditions!!!
Greetings to África from México.
@@OnFire20001 Bless ❤
I watched this video so many times and all the time i ask myself why she went to this audition alone? she didn't have anybody to hug and share this wonderful moment
The comments my brothers and sisters had made at Christmas, when I told them I’d got an audition for Britain’s Got Talent, kept repeating in my head.
“Well, don’t be surprised if you don’t get through”.
“Thanks for your faith in me. Smashing people, you!” ©

I’ve always been glad that the coordinators backstage were so kind to her.
@@suboforever if you are subo, my adoration for you, you stood alone, and rightfully put the world of cynics flat on their ass, your voice is unique and I hope you find happiness.
@@colinwynne5008 Thanks, bro! I'm not Susan, but we have much in common. I'm a huge fan of her talent. She is the one and only.
I watch this every day. This reminds me that dreams can come true.
Every day?😊
I never get tired of listening to this song from Susan Now August 2024😂😅😊
I've watched this audition many times and still to this day I get goosebumps! What an amazing lady, such an inspiration ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤
All these years later, her performance still chokes me up, with tears of joy filling my eyes. Susan, you rock! ♥️♥️♥️
The way she blew a kiss and then started walking off after literally WOWING everyone, lol.😅😄Such an icon that Susan! Gotta love her!
Forever the greatest audition of all time. And it’s the original “amazing audition” so no one can or will ever top it
The lady was amazing
I have to watch this at least once a year. Classic. Extraordinary.
me too
I haven’t seen this in so long! I needed to see it again.
this is when simon change his viewpoint
my absolutt favorite TV-moment, peak TV-entertainment. Absolutly everything, the music, the atmosphere, the hosts, and SUSAN! Love to tears.
I will NEVER get tired of watching this performance. Amazing.
Hello Glenice how are you doing today?
Still makes me cry..wanting her to succeed..
Every once in a while I come back to watch this video just to lift my spirit. Incredible lady.
How’re you and your lovely family doing over there?
Jolly good show !
Message to everyone in 2024....NEVER, EVER JUDGE A BOOK, BY ITS COVER!
❤❤❤❤ you right
Absolutely!!
That was the greatest TV moment of my entire life!!!!! When she climbed up those notes from the bottom to the top and beyond made me scream out loud!
I have seen and listened to this video at least 100+ times and I will absolutely NEVER get tired of it!!! To be able to start living your dream at 48 is an accomplishment and I admire her so much for that. She is an amazing woman and I know her mother would be so proud of her! We love you so much Susan Boyle!!! You are an inspiration!!!! ❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏🌹🌷💐🌹🌷💐💖🌟🌟🌟
Same here listen to it so many times NEVER get tired of it. It is uplifting!
No doubt at all, the world should dream this kind of dream sung by Susan and stand by Sysan's side all the time both inside and outside!
Sadly we need her spirt in the ukrtaine and in the U, S,
@S.C.V. Lundon
There are moments in my life that I will ill never forget. Like 9/11 and Susan Boyle.
