I was there. I remember saying to my friends before the show “If Susan Boyle walks on stage tonight, I will lose it.” Because she had been one of my idols since I was a tiny child. She walked on stage and I in fact lost it. I got to see my idol sing live AND see her get the golden buzzer. I was sobbing. I remember every moment and an eternally grateful to have gotten to experience that.

I love how Simon treats Susan, he's almost like a protective parent of a young child, and he's so proud of her. She has earned that respect ever since she first set foot on BGT. What an incredible voice in an incredibly amazing lady. I was so happy to know she would be on the show.
I think it's safe to say that of all the contestants ever set foot on any of his shows, this is the one he's most proud of. Not because of her success, but because of her courage and what she did for people. She changed literally a world's view, shook music to its core, all while staying true to her dream. When she said in the opening video that she sung for the queen twice, all I could think of was "she made it".

oh yes, i also love the way simon treats her. she knew it from the beginning. she liked simon. susan sings this better than anyone else. she deserves it more than anyone else. brave susan knew she was going to make everyone watch.

She hits every note. Never sharp or flat. Such control over her voice. Truly a gift from God. This is a hauntingly fantastic vocal. For only singing a short period of time she is a legend. Simon alway says it best.

I remember a few years ago being in a shop trying on sunglasses before going on holiday, I heard this voice next to me say “they really suit you, they look great, you should buy them” I looked round and it was none other than Susan Boyle! I think Susan Boyle was once in a lifetime shock to everyone when she opened her mouth. I was like many others wondering what was she going to do. I saw all the people in the audience with the smug looks but they got over it as soon as she starting singing. She took us to another time and place with her angel voice. I do believe this song was my all time favorite by her. It's such a beautiful song and perfect for her voice. The thing I love about her is she never let stardom change who she is. Just a sweet humble person.
