Yes usc has a big endowment, and our alumni are ric h, but when you go 6-6 in LA, you wont raise Ohio state, ND, type money . That said Riley is said with is contract; but he’s gone in two years. • @speedxkills5881
      @speedxkills5881 День назад +1

      This it’s really frustrating knowing those guys are on the roster and don’t actually care about the logo on their helmet at all just the amount of leverage they can create. I kind of respect Riley for playing hard ball because at some point you have to draw a line and let a player test their market value and come back to reality. If a player thinks they’re hot sh*t and end up at Texas Tech or Boise State it just goes to show the demand isn’t what they expected and USC was right in not overpaying them.
      It’s a really difficult and precarious place to be trying to build a roster because when you re-negotiate with one guy and overpay them other guys see that and try to follow their lead (a la Bear Alexander) and it quickly becomes unsustainable. I think what you’re seeing is a lot of players saw Bear leverage this coaching staff and are trying the USC for extra money but Riley has learned from his mistake with Bear and is calling their bluff. Hence the portal entries. It sucks but ultimately I think he’s doing the right thing. The only time I want to see USC overspend is on an elite QB or LT like you would expect in an NFL draft. Most other positions are fairly replaceable.

USC has great alumni but not nearly as much money coming back into the school. As far as actual NIL goes the city of Los Angeles sells itself. • @MrDellasc
      @MrDellasc День назад

      I seriously doubt that’s the reason why he’s leaving. Hell, their agents are most likely having the schools/collectives paying the taxes for them. Texas for example, you’re paying twice the amount in property taxes than you do in California. Another aspect is, the weather in Texas and most of the South just plain sucks compared to California. Hot and high humidity or hurricanes a few times a year or freaking rain storms with hail the size of golf balls. No thank’s, I’ll take California’s weather over the Southern States.

    • @rynebozzell
      @rynebozzell День назад +1

      Athletes in Texas, Florida, and Tennessee don’t pay property tax because they typically don’t own property, and those states also lack a state income tax. Similarly, Ohio boasts a low state income tax and exempts food from sales tax.
      Regarding weather, Californians may believe their climate and level of natural disaster risk are ideal, but much of the country seems to disagree.
      Meanwhile, California continues to face significant challenges with a large and growing homeless population, which has spilled into the streets of numerous cities, negatively impacting the quality of life in ways unmatched by other states.
      Unfortunately, California appears less appealing to student athletes, professionals, and businesses than it may have been in the past.

    • @MrDellasc
      @MrDellasc День назад

      @ then why does California have the 5th largest economy in the world? Most the states you named lack public services, and specifically, Texas public services suck. Regarding weather, I know a lot of people moved who’ve moved back to California because the weather in in the south sucks. You’ve been watching to much faux tv.

    • @rynebozzell
      @rynebozzell День назад

      @@MrDellasc here’s an excerpt from a recent article:
      In 2021, California business headquarters left the state at twice their rate in both 2020 and 2019, and at three times their rate in 2018. In the last three years, California lost eleven Fortune 1000 companies, whose exits negatively affect California’s economy today. But California also is risking its economic future as much smaller but rapidly growing unique businesses are leaving, taking their innovative ideas with them.
      Why are companies leaving? Economics, plain and simple. California state and local economic policies have raised business costs to levels that are so high businesses are choosing to leave behind the many economic benefits of being in California and move to states with better business climates featuring much less regulation, much lower taxes, and lower living costs.
      - - -
      There is no shortage of excellent public services in Texas or other southern states; if anything, that may be more of a problem in California.
      It seems your perspective might be influenced by unreliable sources. A quick Google search and some fact-checking could clarify things-or you can choose to remain uninformed.
      It’s interesting how strongly you reject well-established facts about other states, facts that are widely recognized and beyond dispute.
      And for the record, I don’t watch misleading TV-or any TV, for that matter.
