Spray Foam and Rubber Mulch Archery Target

- Cheap DIY Archery Target experiment by adding rubber garden mulch to some DAP No Warp Window and Door Sealant (Spray Foam). It worked pretty good, and I was able to breath life into a worn out old target 3D deer target, and create a new target for my daughter to practice on for around $25 (and I've got plenty of rubber mulch left over for other projects). I might keep the experiments going if anyone has any suggestions, put them in the comments!
The suspended pieces of rubber created more friction than using only foam (which doesn't reseal itself), so it is possible to take more shots at differing angles. The more rubber you add, the more stopping power you will have.

@@jonardjean-paul5187 There are kits available on the internet that sell the foam for repairing the 3D targets. It is pretty expensive, but I've heard they work quite well. Good luck, and I hope it works out for you.

would you say adding more rubber mulch to the foam would help it last longer and not penetrate as far?
Definitely. Not sure about lasting longer, but certainly the more mulch, the more stopping power. Because the foam is not self-healing, there will be an arrow-sized hole with each shot. Having layers of other materials, and the thickness of the target that you make also makes a big difference. Good luck, and let everyone know if something works well for you.
