Thank you for the video Sir. Got my Hotas yesterday and boy was i cocky coming in, thinking everything was just gonna be smoother. I got a lot of hours of practice ahead of me, but your video and confidence helped a lot.
yes it is a lot easier to watch than to actually do. wait till I get my replica 3d printed Bell 212 cyclic and collective simulators up and running! then it will be real immersive especially in DCS.
It looks like your controls are set up well now and I can see that your movements are a lot smoother. I think your well on your way to getting the landing dialed in.
My last nuggets of advise.
1) start your turn into the landing zone offset farther to the right (for left turn landing). Think of the landing shape as making a decreasing radius turn (aka: coordinated turn) instead of the sharp hook of the letter "J". This type of turn allows you greater control as your bank angle is less and you are able to modulate your speed by how hard you pull bask on the cyclic to maintain altitude while decelerating.
2) start your turn earlier. I noticed that you would start your turn next to or beyond your lz. This would cause you to have to fly back to the lz mark. Start your turn earlier and offset to the side and it will put you closer to your lz.
3) practice making making your landing turns no greater than 180 degrees. For examine, if you start your landing flying due East, you want to be on the ground facing due west. I remember when I first started flying I would end up spinning a lot while finishing my landing, never wanting to get off the tail rotor pedal. I'd have 360 degree landings.. lol.
Thanks Grumpy Appreciate the encouragement. I will definately practice the above tips. will be interesting to see where I am at in another hundred hours or so. Massive change just in the last 5 hours. I am come a long way from my first 13 hours that is for sure! Cheers WESTY!
Thanks for this tip also. Just got my hotas in yesterday and even though i have hundreds of hours flying M&K, it feels like my first day all over again.
I edited the movement controls for my helicopter HOTAS but still don't know how to configure my weapons controls for my helis.
This will get you sorted out. very very detailed and fantastic. ruclips.net/video/_snnBjGS_Yk/видео.html&pp=iAQB
