Nate sounds like a super nice guy. I'm so happy for him that he's going to be able to get an R5C for himself. Congratulations, Nate! 🎉🎉🎉

So, agree on the "cripple hammer" comments in general. That said, I really dislike the low-end cameras with the 2.36m dot EVF. It's just annoying to use. I hear users saying how great they are....because they don't know the difference. I pretty much always encourage new users to purchase a last generation of mid-range camera (for example get a used Canon R6) instead of one of these lower end bodies.

Both (The a7 and z6) have a 4 years product cycle.
      The next a7 V is due 2025.
So, for 2025, let's mentally prepare for:
      For a7v hit 👍
      For z6iii hit 👎
      😉
Actually their actual availability will be only a few months apart. As we know, Nikon doesn't manage production planning nor the production itself well. So, like with each and every Nikon item in the past, also this time (around Xmas 2024?) we WILL hear the usual stale excuse (as always) (GUARANTEED): "we apologize for not having delivered the Z6 III for moths, as the demand exceeded our expectations" 🐌🐌🐌

Mind, that this is only a snapshot in time 🙂
    E.g. both the a7 and z6 have a 4 years product cycle.
    The next a7 V is due 2025.
One shold should better wait and see?

If anyone considers abandoning his / her current lens choice eco system privilege:
It is a beginners mistake to be seduced by some sudden camera, as a poisoned bait luring you into an overpriced / monopoly lens choice, where you get ripped off.
Generally, the latest camera of a brand usually / naturally has some leading edges, but that lasts only shortly until the next brand brings forward their latest camera in the same class. In this instance, there's only a brief period of only a few months for the Z6 III to shine.

I understand the new Nikon Z6III is an improvement on the Sony A7IV. I just never understand why you or Steven never say that a lot of that has to do with the Nikon being 2.5 years newer so the market requirements and technology has improved and if Nikon didn’t exceed the A7IV they would be posting a “Going Out Of Business” sign in their window. If the Sony A7V comes out in six months let’s talk again if Sony leap frogs it. Also I’m fine if you only want or need 24 Mpixels for what you do, that doesn’t mean you should bash other users who want more like 33, 45, 61, or higher. These meet different needs and are not wrong. I’ve never seen epic landscape or architectural photos come out from your shop. All said I listen to all your podcasts and reviews and RAW talk and own all four fropacks. Where is number 5. Take care.
