Coastwatch follows Fishery Officers from The Ministry for Primary Industries, NZ Airforce and Navy personnel, and the Maritime Police. Greenstone gets up close and personal to find out what’s involved in patrolling and enforcing the law that protects our coastlines, water-ways and billion dollar Kai-moana industries.
We also follow the men and women volunteering for Northland Regions Coastguard, and the Northland Electricity Rescue Helicopter. Tasked with responding to mayday calls, medical emergencies, on-water breakdowns and accidents, they keep our waterways, and those on them, safe. The Maritime Police, along with the Police National Dive Squad, are also on high alert for any maritime emergencies.

Nor would you want to refuse with a rifle pointed and your face. That seemed like guys a bit riled up. They didnt tear apart the boat looking for non existent drugs screaming.

How do the producers know this bloke is Australian. Apart from the mispronunciation of the vowel Australian and New Zealand Accents are similar. He is probably an Aucklander.
The fisheries officers kept claim New Zealand fisheries waters which may be different to New Zealand territorial waters. Just like what is the difference between and "inspection" and a "search?" Did the officers not "search" the hold for fish?

Cop channels have really warped a lot of peoples views. You have rights. When people know their rights, cops play a game called "he's a sov cit" and that garners support and backup from normal every day people who observe because you've been made believe that people who know their right and the law are an issue. He isn't a sovereign citizen. They don't exist. He knows the law and he knows his rights. When you go to court everything is a technicality. On the street they don't allow technicalities yet thats exactly what it comes down to.

If he had the correct flag on his boat they need permission to board the boat from the captain,if they do you can send a call distress sign mayday and call the Navy for assistance, you have pirates trying to board your vessel. Under the New Zealand Fisheries Act in New Zealand waters it doesn't matter what flag you carry if they suspect you have been fishing they have the power to inspect your vessel. Historic foreign laws don't apply in NZ, NZ hasn't been an British colony for a long time.

He's not in international waters. It is an Australian vessel fishing illegally in New Zealand territorial waters. No permission required. Do your research. Boats illegally fishing in Australian waters are confiscated and oft times sunk and crews arrested. No permission from the captain required. You're talking rubbish.
