Don't know if it's available at this particular restaurant, but at some, you can ask for "yellow rice" - it's parboiled rice, which has a lower glycemic index. That area has a lot of Indian restaurants - further north along Jalan Bukit (near the La Salle school) there's a famous one called Raju's, and it looks like they opened a branch near this restaurant. We used to eat at Raju's when I was small. They're a little weird - you have to read all the little signs they've stuck on the walls in the restaurant - one day I'll take pictures and post them on Google Maps. I also notice a "Hokkien Mee Halal" restaurant on Jalan Othman, towards PJ Old Town Market, I'll have to try that someday, since I like Hokkien Mee.

I used to eat at Kanna Curry House a lot, these days I tend to go to Sri Paandi near the University Hospital (mainly because they have Thairu Wadeh, which I like to eat with Moru Molaga - nice tea time snack).
I dont know got more than 1 raju hahaha. But last time i went there was last year before pandemic because i wfh since march till who knows. Im sorry im not sure about the landmarks.. but i think maybe its not that far from kwsp? Not a walking distance but 3minutes drive?

My favorite paandi now is in bukit bintang so i will try to eat there whenever i pass the area but u know the parking there is a nightmare. Aki, if they have their famous pumpkin on the day you go there, try it. Must have side dish. Their "ikan bilis" anchovies is another good side dish. Their crab curry gravy is excellent.
Achar/acar are pickles. So if you say mango acar its mango pickles or lime acar it means lime pickles. Banana leaf rice is unlimited rice and the vegetables they placed on your leaf for the fixed price. Additional dishes like squid, chicken, mutton, fish, eeg etc. is extra price. But the basic rice and vegetables they give you are UNLIMITED. That small cup is rasam (pepper soup). Its good for you.
