😂 unfortunately Germany aren't in any great state but it shouldn't take much to beat England.

Perhaps players should conversely, stop giving the press airtime…

Absolutely no problem with what Kane said.
He had a direct question put to him. “Gary Lineker said the team was shit”.
He was entirely respectful and honest in his response. He was responding as England Captain to comments by another ex-England Captain. Very specific response.
What did you expect him to say? a total non-story.
These pundits on RTE are quick to jump in here - and twist and misrepresent what he said. Amazing.
How about this one “RTE should concentrate on what’s wrong with Irish football … and quit spinning normal comments at a press conference”. Must have been a slow day in the Hurling.
This is a national broadcaster? Never seen anything like it.

Grow up, they're sports pundits being asked about comments made by a "top" player on a "top" team. How about Hazza Kane respond to the question with, "People are allowed their opinions." and move on. He's not forced to cry and winge. It's not his job to entertain these questions, it IS the RTE pundits jobs to entertain these questions.
So untangle your knickers and stop trying to protect wee Hazza Kane. He's a grown man

@@user-gh8is1up9m how about you grow up - and accept his honest opinion and sentiments and stop being outraged by his answer. You seem to want to have a boring, hackneyed response. He was not crying and he was respectful in his words. Lineker and Shearer even said this in their podcast.
Such a blame shift. Incredible. I guess it plays well where you are 🙄.
Pity for you the truth is so triggering. Much easier to shoot sly shots from the peanut gallery.

@@brooklyniron1999 Ah a sensitive limey hurt by the teams criticisms. You've given yourself away.
You've made a couple of blunders. There's nothing to indicate I was "outraged" by his statements, on the contrary, I couldn't give the skin off Kane's nutsack what he said. In fact, I left when they started talking about England.
You guess it plays well where I'm from? This is all coming from where you're from sunshine. This is your country that's produced this controversy. Your players, your pundits and YOU who was so anally bruised by the criticisms that he had to come on a RUclips video and complain about another nation's pundits. How truly pathetic. The only reason these pundits are talking about it because Englands ego is so inflated that they believe they are THE team, and that unfortunately has RTE talking about England way more than they should.
Again I suggest that you try to grow up. You're the sports equivalent of a DC fanboy getting personally hurt after a poor movie review.
P.S you look like a twat in your pic.

I really value Hamann s analyses of the matches in general - his opinion often is more nuanced than what the Irish or English pundits bring up- and I d say he has a point arguing that you can t act thin skinned in such interviews. However, these interviews mostly are lose-lose scenario anyway. I do think England sells itself under value, it s hard to argue against that in terms of actual plays and performance on the field. Yet, it s a long tournament and I feel like England still doesn t really play as a proper team and they rely too much on the individual qualities of the players. I just miss the "one for all" attitude in the games of the past years. But that s not just an issue I take with the English team but also some others.

@@nonamenameless5495 fair enough but it is REALLY the biggest story? Is it indicative of what is actually important. What a question? “Someone who did your job said you are 💩 . What do you think about that?”
Seems to be an issue with respect and appropriateness of questioning.
Then we get these pundits stretching it out. Richie - particularly - needs to get a life.
