Remember to drink responsibly(ish) and not be that guy... - Хобби
When I went to NY on my honeymoon earlier in the year I went to so many places but Rattle and Hum, Mugs, Barcade (the one on Union Street) and especially Torst were among my favourites! Great minds and all that.
+Jake O great drunken minds.
Excellent options thank you dude.
Love the video!
Smooth work!!!
loved the vid!!!!!
EXCELLENT video!
You are having a great time there! While I'm still drinking average European Lager from the supermarket. Admitted, I sometimes drink Belgian beers. But I'm still jealous on you!
Sounds like it was a great trip, I really dig these beer tourist videos
cheers, us too. we get to go to some amazing bars!
Try pipeworks! Just recently made it out there. Amazing stuff. Might be the best thing to come out of Chicago.
+Matthew Laube never heard of them but we have a friend in Chicago...I might ask him to ship some.
Terrific!
Cheers!
Yes! Blind Tiger!
I had 3 short days in NYC last year. Found Blind Tiger and had a great time. Proper American bar with dark corners and NFL on tv.
+jonnyrmoore amen. I loved sitting at the bar watching sport and understanding next to none of it.
Cheers mate... I live in NYC (Brooklyn native) and I can attest to the craft beer shops/pubs featured here. I visit them as well. All good, really, something for everyone at all levels of beer nerdiness.
+mrguystarr awesome, glad a local approves!
Gonna check on those bars next time in nyc
+Alex French Guy Cooking you better! The wine was waaaay overpriced.
Alex, there's a fresh oyster bar just across the street from the Blind Tiger. When in season, they have it all; mussels, clams, oysters, etc. You could do an ale/shellfish pairing! Find the best ale to pair with the awesome Moules Marinière you made on FoodTube. ;)
Loving your channel. Should come down under to Melbourne and try some of our beers!
we would love to! Keep getting half baked plans to come over but budgets are....restrictive!
Damn that looks fantastic, so much beer to try!
But never too much!
Love your vids guys, you should come to the Basque Country (Spain), great craft beers raising up lately. Cheers!
+Alex Barandiaran has it? Who should we look out for and try to track down?
Went last year. The beer is at a whole new level over there. Torst and Good Beer were fantastic!
Yeah it's the general quality of the beer...it's everywhere you go!
I was in NYC last Christmas and I visited 5 of the places in your video. Good to know my craft beer nose works well. I've still got a bottle of Dogfish 120 IPA sitting in my basement from the trip and I might have to crack it open.
Lucky you! Don't let it sit too long or the hops will fade!
Been to Rattle N Hum & Ginger Man in NYC also i was impressed with The Pony Bar down in Hells Kitchen which had a superb range of Craft brew treasures..
+sofakingdrunk66 shucks didn't try that place. Next time!
Second the Pony Bar!
Oh man we love NYC. NEed to go back again, thanks for these tips today. Very handy for when we next visit :)
Cheers!
+The Craft Beer Channel Have you done of these videos for London!?
+Food And Drink In Seconds not yet but it's in the upload schedule!
Awesome review 🤓🍻 you must love your job ..
Yeah it's OK...!
Solid list, nice video! Did you visit One Mile House? If not, you should next time. Great selection and superfriendly staff.
+Oljud damn, missed that place.
Peculiar Pub on Bleecker St. - extensive bottle/can list from all over the world.
One of my favourite bars in New York is McSorleys on east 7th street. They serve 2 beers: Light and Dark. The atmosphere was amazing the few times I was there, and it's just such a different drinking experience.
we missed out! is it a brewpub?
They do brew their own beers, although not on site (i think). Its one of New Yorks oldest bars if not the oldest. The floor is covered in sawdust and when its busy (which is often) the staff tend to shove people wherever they can fit leading to some very interesting conversations with strangers. :)
Its not necessarily a great place for beer, but it is definitely one of the best bars I've been to. :)
Currently I live about 8 miles west of Manhattan. I can't stand the place; unless I've a mind to visit the myriad brewpubs for some of the same lovely beers you talk about. I always go during the week, and always between 11 AM and 4 PM. It's the only time you can have a nice, quiet, fun-filled conversation with the eclectic local personalities; without wearing earplugs, and without having to drive a bulldozer to the bar, and then wait another twenty minutes to get your glass filled. Earlybirds enjoy the best that these places have to offer. I'm glad you had a chance to visit; it certainly is a mindblower; both culturally, and brewer-er-ly........... LOL!!!!!!! ;)
+Whiskey River (Doc) I was pretty glad I was drinking during the day mostly so I could film! Still, some of the bars had a great buzz in the evening even if getting to the bar was a challenge.

Trying to see the trip through your eyes, I would have to agree. As a retired "Young, Wild, and Crazy" world traveler, I wouldn't have had it any other way. But I had it easy, because I wasn't worried about filming anything; which is a dynamics most viewers don't think about. With that said, thanks for what you do; it's quite enjoyable to watch, and I love most of the beers, and the people and places you cover. Cheers brother!!!
Awesome episode! Only have to find an excuse to go across the pond now.
Heads up on the last place. The placename "Tørst" means thirsty in Danish and Norwegian. (the ø is pronounced like "u" in "burst")
+snaffen thanks for clearing that up!
NY! Wup Wup!
Damn! I got really excited about all these places as I'll be in NYC in a few months, and then remembered I can't drink over there... (21, really?)
You can own a gun, drive a car and vote. But you can't have a beer.
Come to Seattle! I am all about local. I would say about 80% of the beer I buy is from Washington. There are loads of breweries in a 30 miles of Seattle. Many of witch don't bottle. Also fantastic pubs and bars as well. I haven't even come close to trying them all.
Fav. Gose is a blueberry Gose by Skookum.
+Race Frazier we wanna come so bad! Hoping to make it to the West Coast next year.
Definitely should have stopped by Taproom No. 307 on 23rd and 3rd. They have 40 beers on tap and the beer list is always changing. Their bottle list is also quite impressive with many beers from around the world. Not to mention their food is amazing
+deathmitt3ns1 holy crap! Never even heard of that one! Sounds amazing.
There are plenty of great breweries in upstate too like ommegang!
Hi Guys! Any plans to come to Brazil? I can be your host, definetly! Cheers and keep it up with the good work!
No plans yet but we go where the brews go so maybe one day!
when are you coming to Chicago? we're the place to be.
It's in our top 10 list for filming so one day soon!
Oh and one more question:
I didn't quite get what they mixed the Mein Aventinus with because of the noisy surroundings. Barrel-aged Eisbock?
+Lennart it was...trying to remember which barrel! I believe it was a red wine one.
Ah dammit! Why did it take me so much time to discover you guys? I just love your videos and your passion for beer. Now all the binge watching really interferes with my bachelor thesis. Worth it though!
But one question: How do you keep track of all the new breweries, all the different bars and places you want to go? I discovered the wishlist on untappd, but that gets also quite messy the more I discover.
+Lennart haha - well we find the best way to keep the list under control is to get them ticked off by going! I (jonny) keep a scrapbook too but like yours it's very messy.
Can't believe you didn't find The Jeffrey! Great Great beer selection!
damn where abouts is that?
hola
Tell me you stayed for the release of this years Goose Island Bourbon County Stout! They release every black Friday. Also did you try any of Founders beers? They are great beers.
Sadly not - and I missed the official press launch too. Chose the worst week. But drank some founders - we get lots in the UK though.
great video - happy to see Good Beer and ABC getting some love. only criticism is there's a borough of 2 million residents and a dozen breweries that wasn't mentioned once. pay her a visit next time.
+J.A. Strub hey man. Only so many parts of NYC we can do in one vid but we'll be back to visit the rest. Had to do the same with our San Fran vid!
The Craft Beer Channel well the next time you're around, hit me up and I'll show ya around Queens!
J.A. Strub sounds good!
Jonny, when will you do an episode on Dutch (craft) beers? Seeing as you're quite the fan of Belgian ones, I'm sure you'll love the Dutch ones just as much!
We really want to come over and see some breweries but haven't found a time yet. We love jopen and obviously de molen though! And kampaan are good too.
+The Craft Beer Channel I see, looking forward to it then!! Don't forget La Trappe, the very first Dutch trappist beer, by De Koningshoeven. And a very well loved beer at that!! Cheers for answering my question!
+Dingo Dingo And Maybe the Weizener by Hertog Jan. Hertog Jan is me and my mates' favourite "normal" beer brand! haha
Please tell me you went up to treehouse and vermont whilst you were in the northeast!
+Nicholas Bouffard Sadly not - always so pressed for time! Hoping to be back soon and will explore a bit further.
I have two questions:
1. Do you get paid to do this? If so, you have one of the best jobs in the world!
2. Why don't we see more of Brad?
Thanks for the amazing videos!
Hey! We get paid a bit but we're working on sponsors and such! As for the Brad, we both wish he could be in it more! Sadly someone has to be behind the camera. He's in the next few though...
+The Craft Beer Channel Do you have a Patreon or anything? Cuz, I'd pay for more Brad.
+Tasting Nitch we don't, but we'd all pay for more Brad! We're looking at monetising beyond freelance and RUclips ads but being a hobby it's tough finding time...
when you're in frankfurt, I'll film you :P
come to toronto one day! we have a few really great craft beer places.. nothing like england or new york though
Jonny has friends nearby in Canada so maybe!
Going to Toronto (and other places in Canada) this summer. Any recommendations?
What do you guys shoot with? And, for audio?
we film on a Canon 600d and do sound with a rode shotgun. need lapels badly so saving up!
+The Craft Beer Channel let me know if I can help...would love to offer my assistance in anyway for production for a feature in HOPS CRAFT BAR (Morristown) www.hopscraftbar.com / www.orangecrushfilms.com...have wireless mics, seinheisser shotgun, hn4, dr60...
Are you related to Jack Whitehall by any chance? Spitting image 🤣
Haha thank god I am not.
beer table
Have you and Martin Dickie ever been seen together in the same room?
+Robert Shaw haha. Valid question - yes we have. Proof we are different people... ruclips.net/video/oIPpNlKhqHs/видео.html
how to choose a drink when its so much selection on fridge? i often get confuse.
+felix sadie ask the shopkeeper!
hahaha yeah of course.
Whats the typical price for a beer at a bar there? and do they come all in pints?
+cns180784 it was about $7 or $8 for 500 ml
+The Craft Beer Channel Thats well expensive, so looking at cheapest pint costs about £4.80. Good video, but for me the price for beer there alone puts me off going. If i went to New York it would be for a week at least and i'd be having at least a few beers every night along with the sight seeing in the day. Beer prices are important for me though as most nights me and my mate(s) would be clubbing.
+cns180784 it's pricey but cheaper than London and not so dependent on abv - we drank beers of up to 10% and prices remained the same. It's all about value rather than price! As for clubs though I don't know pricing as we're more pub lovers!
+The Craft Beer Channel Fair play although i'm used to cheap prices, to me London is ridiculously expensive- have only been there twice in my life...i live near Birmingham.
Dude, come to Frankfurt ! #meetmeatthebar
OK we're coming.
yassssss ;) #meetmeatthebar -> Oreilleys ! xoxo ... #waxysgirl
USA! USA! It is funny how 20 taps plus of craft is average in the US compared to London or the UK.
+Carlos Velez yeah it kills me! We're lucky to have 2 or three!
a lavalier mic would ddo wonders for these vids
+Neil Martinez we're saving up for them!
Come on down to Philadelphia and let my son guide you around town (he's a home brewer) and I'll buy you one!
+Neil Martinez sounds like a pretty good deal to me!
+The Craft Beer Channel - I'll follow up via email.
you missed out on Beer Culture and Beer Authority.
We did indeed miss Beer Culture, where is that? We went Beer Authority but found it a bit soulless compared to the others.
The Craft Beer Channel Beer Culture: 45th & 8th.
1$ pizza is clutch
...that's an sports term right? I know what that means....
haha yeaaa when all you have is 2$ in your pocket 1$ pizza will save your chops
I can tell that you had a serious hang over after all of that. Just go into a dark room that has no noise. and sleep. that's what helps me. although I know when to get myself drunk off my ass. (and no I'm not 21) 😜
+kilo_yomama thanks fully wasn't all in one day! But still there were some slow mornings...
+kilo_yomama thanks fully wasn't all in one day! But still there were some slow mornings...
proletariat in lower east side....not the most taps, but some of the most quality beers.
how did you manage to stay sober all the way?!
What makes you think we did!? We just edited it well.
As Is in Hell's Kitchen worth the trip
We've not managed to go but heard it is great!
I think new york means nyc
OH NO! I was in NYC last week but I did't see very much craft beer places... not-beer-guys friends suck!
+Francesco Bandini haha. Yeah they do, get them to watch the channel and we'll convert them.
The Craft Beer Channel I tried I tried. They drink crap!
way better without the music while speaking!
+Filip Cornelissen glad to hear it.
