As a KZ2 player I'll tell you what happened. They went into a cod gameplay style rather than staying into the playstyle that brought the community to what it was.
Man the same shit happened to Resistance. I loved R1 multiplayer, R2 was okay but still unique, but then they changed their formula to look like CoD so R3 mp lost franchise uniqueness
@@OrehBelich92 Resistance 2 went far more CoD like than 3. Though the gamemode were pretty fun from what I heard. I got the games too late to enjoy the multiplayer though. That would be dope its always interesting to dive into the heartful lives of the soldiers in contrast to the heartless leadership, and perception of the enemy due to all sorts of propoganda that blurs the audiences line of who is right and wrong
Have you ever watched "Stalingrad"? It's quite interesting that you start to root for the german soldiers once you got to know them and hope that they somehow survive.

Spoken like a true mouthpiece of the corrupt and deceitful Helgen oligarchy. It was your people’s oppressive rule and monopoly that led to the first extrasolar war. Never clicked so fast on a video before because JUST YESTERDAY I was thinking about Killzone and how much I loved Killzone 2 and missed those games. WE NEED MORE KILLZONE!
There's never been a better time for Killzone to return with predominant titles like COD and Battlefield flopping today in 2021/22. Even Halo Infinites honeymoon phase has ended and fans are getting upset. Man I miss this franchise, I guess I lucked out growing up and experiencing Killzone 2 on ps3 first. Between that game and Call of Duty 3, it was like real life to play in 1080p!
ryan owen I’d prefer a more expansive version of Killzone Mercenary but it’d be cool. A campaign with two protagonists, one on each side would be cool. Have one be on the front lines, and the other be a spy or espionage type of story. Could be cool. Also, bringing some of the gore and gritty violence of 2 and 3 would be nice.
Killzone 2 showed a hell of a lot of potential then it sadly just started going downhill from there... Although I enjoyed killzone 3, it just wasn’t dark enough for me. They need to bring back that heavy, dark and gritty atmosphere..
I loved Motorstorm, is was much more interesting than other racing games out there. The same people have made a new racer called Onrush which is similar but it doesn’t quite have the charm of Motorstorm Pacific Rift and Apocalypse. I heard that Motorstorm wasn’t quite the game they wanted to make and Onrush is closer to what they wanted, which is a shame because I think Motorstorm is better
Motorstorm would have been better if the cars weren't so floaty. Bring it back at 60fps and I'll buy it either way. I liked the first one best -for that great Monument Valley and desert scenery. Apocalypse was just too ugly to look at.
Actually, there is some signs that there may be a Killzone or another Shooter from GG. Last year, the map designer of Killzone 2 was rehired by GG after he worked for Rainbow Six Siege. There was also job listings by GG and something about GG opening up a new location/expanding.
@@Venomx-nb1jr Im dying for a Killzoe game, a real Killzone game not a shitty spin-off like Shadow Fall. Also why Sony didnt do a Killzone Trilogy remastered/remake like M$ did the Halo Collection Remake and Gear of Wars remake?
All Sony Needs to do is Remastered KZ2 & Killzone 3 with It's Full Online Multiplayer intact. Give It Horizon Zero Dawn Level Visual Effects... And you will have a system seller. KZ3 MP was so good and Unique. It was Truly Sony's Halo
@@ryanh.739 KZ2 had the best multiplayer. KZ3's mp was a nerfed version of KZ2's mp. KZ3 ha no server lobby, no cuztomizable matches, it did have the respawn flares for the tactician class that KZ2 had, the maps were smaller in KZ3, the player count dropped to 24 compared to 32 in KZ2, among many other things.
It not really dead. It just taking a break. They were too busy on horizon. But since they hiring more and said want to release more games quickly. I think new killzone can come back for ps5 is very possible.
A gem like Killzone Shadow Fall or Titanfall 2 gets unnoticed while an open-world garbage like Farcry manages to dish out some respectable numbers, it really hurts me.
spruce74 exactly killzone always had one of the best lores in a fps game it catered more towards hardcore gamers sadly that’s why it was never as mainstream as halo
@spruce74, I agree 100% about Titanfall 2 and its excellent campaign. Not so much with Shadow Fall. I enjoyed Killzone 2 and 3 by far more. Open world games in general have become boring and tedious. Most companies do that on purpose now in order to push microtransactions, dlc, and loot boxes now. I prefer linear single player focused games. RE2 Reimagining 2019 is linear, but it is so replayable and fun. Even 100% it, I want more lol.
Killzone Mercenary was the best Killzone and 99% of so-called fans never bothered picking up a vita to play it . Reviewers gave it mediocre scores despite it having tight gameplay, the best graphics of any vita title, a pretty deep story that bridges Killzone 1 -3 ( it takes place between 1 and the END of 2 . A fun sandbox environment that allows you to do missions stealth/ tactically or demolition style and the best AI and weapons in the series . shadow fall felt like the portable game compared to it.
Oh man that annoyed the crap out of me. And the A.I. was completely broken in some modes, (although it was later patched). I couldn't understand how Botzone could be worse than it was in the older games on last-gen consoles.
OMG Unreal Tournament 3 is one of the best games ever!! And mod support on console? Brilliant! I still play that game and love it to death. Remember the Titan Pack? It added new mutators, new game modes and 16 new maps. And it was 100% FREE.
I don’t get it, I found Killzone by accident when I was renting games from Hollywood Video(member them)and I fell in love with the series. Killzone is a great game let’s get a 5!
I was some were on there lol.loved KZ2 mp when you shot someone you had to keep shooting till they it the floor that i can remember looked so good to look at when you got a kill the way they fell to the floor.

They better bring it back. I enjoyed shadowfall and want more from them. I've been into killzone since killzone 2 and loved every second of it. I had enjoyed the story it had for me; the pain of losing Garza, Templar, and the Doc. I also waited the aftermath in the end. The crazy about killzone 3 is Natko is in the two player mode than the original story. (He should be in the story but oh well.) Killzone shadow fall was different but interesting yet destructive ride. I hope they bring more to the hardcore audience like me
If it wasnt for killzone i wouldve never stumbled across fallout series when i was younger i thought the ncr outfit, the helmet specifically on the new vegas cover was similar to the enemies in killzone
I love all of the Killzone games even Shadow Fall although I was hoping it would follow the story of Sev and Rico but I still loved it. And am dieing for a killzone 5 who agrees with me?
I think everyone in this comment section misses Killzone and would love to see a comeback. While on that note, Socom & Resistance were incredible games. I have so many fond memories from all of them.
I absolutely love the KillZone series pretty recently a group of fans brought back the servers for 2 at least if you want too look up the group is called Ps One they have brought back Warhawk and Resistance fall of man and Motorstorm as of late I hope they continue bringing games servers back up
The first game was amazing and i played it almost as much as i played halo. Its story was solid and the characters were plenty memorable. I never had any glitches and it even had battles against bots. So idk who says it was a disappointment. Cause thats just wrong.
Guerrilla Games wrote itself in a corner with the story ending of both Killzone 2 and 3. First they killed Visari and then they nuked Helgan... I suggest they retcon these two things and build back from there or yeah a Helghast-campaign could be incredibly dope too. FYI: KZ2 still has some of the best urban warfare feels I have ever experienced
I think I'm one of the few people ever to actually like the 1st Killzone. The way you could switch between your 4 characters and each had a unique play style while still carrying the rest of the team felt very engaging and memorable.
I loved the first game to. I played and completed that story so many times. I wish sony would just make Killzone 4 or at the very least remaster them in a package for the PS5.
I first started playing KZ on the PS2 and that game was amazing! When I finally came over to the PS3, I got KZ 2 and it blew my mind! I never bought KZ 3, however, I was invited to the closed beta by Sony and it was such an impressive game as well. Later I was able to get my hands on a PSP and my first game was KZ Liberation and I played the hell out of that game, including multiplayer. Once I came over to PC I fell out with this series since it was not available on the PC. I usually play the PSP game through emulation on PC, but the PS2 game never works on the PS2 emulator.
Killzone has a back story and lore that for some reason devs just ignore. Just go to Killzone Wikia and read the timeline. Amazing stuff. You will see why Helgans look different than good guys ect Latest game was not so good but still fun game to play IMO. Rock solid shooting.
Im gonna tell my story and experience about killzone in my opinion: 1st: Guerrilla Games released the killzone triology too early if they where smart they should have released it a couple years after KZsf so that the online servers should work on the ps4. i have more hours of playing on KZ2 then 3 since the 2nd game was much better then the 3rd game, also when u rank up more u unlock weapons and characters your also unlocking ribbons (1/8) ribbons, but the 3rd game was much different from that (im not saying its bad) but i disliked that you needed to buy the weapons and ability's with points instead of unlocking wich maded it much harder to play for a newcomer, and warzone gameplay changed, like the homebase turrets in the 2nd game you could destroy these (wich respawns again after a small time) and in KZ3 you wasn't able to enter the base since the turrets shoot you dead in less then seconds. 2nd, then the respawn places: you needed a tactician to capture them in KZ3 instead, unlike in the KZ2 game you could respawn at your teamleader somewhere on the main map (without a grenade) and if he was dead you had the respawn grenade, this was removed in the 3rd game. (Wich is sad imo). 3rd: according to the 2nd game Kz3 was much buggier then the 2nd game (full of bugs/glitches) no matter where you stood, due to its poorly graphics, in almost every "freakin" map even DLC's there was at least 1 bug/glitch that allowed you to cheat. For example: Pyhrus Crater, the BIGGEST out of map glitch ever on both sides (and ive seen in any kind of game) Operations: Frozen dam roof glitch to prevent you placing bombs. I can give/tell much more of these etc...etc. 4rd: if u commited suicide in KZ3 you where immediatly dead without beieng able of revived by a teammate. like commiting suicide in KZ2 with an frag grenade that you're still alive (mortaly wounded) and just had to wait for a medic to heal you from a distance, also that you could use the heal gun for your allies to heal and kill you enemys. in KZ3 the graphic was only able to heal from a short distance and there weren't many much medics in the gameplay. The function to use ur heal gun to kill enemys was also removed. 5th: the most fun i have from the 3rd game was Operations, it gave alots exiting of action to prevent the ISA from winning like Akmir Snowdrift Mawlr Graveyard. in the 2nd game the warzones had much more potential of gameplay and teaming up with your commander and you had much more characters/ soldier classes: KZ2 had 7 types of soldiers and KZ3 (5 soldier classes/ KZsf had only 3 left?? wtf??). anyway there you go, ive told my version, my story and experience, i loved the 2nd sooo much. playing with friends and teammates for 7 years, also the 3rd game was worth playing too, its still sad that Guerrilla games shut down the servers last year but i understand the fact now ("maintaining these old servers costs them alot of money") even if the Kz2/Kz3 had much more people in their servers then KZsf ive heard and seen somewhere that the last ps2 of online gameplay server was shut down back in 2016. (this is why it probably happens to ps3 servers now like kz2/kz3 and more) iv'e never played KZsf long: only 5 games and got bored cause it was much harder to understand how these ability's work in according to the old games. i only played the 1st game on ps2 for fun never online cause online servers didn't work much back thn lets hope they will remaster KZ/KZ2/KZ3 for PS5. ill never give up hoping on them.
Didn't have an Xbox and loved playing halo at my mates house but was never envious of halo as it was just another experience I had with friends. I guess you can say my experience wasn't spoiled because my time with killzone 1 was isolated from other peoples opinions about it. Just me having fun, no disappointments guess I was lucky I had friends who didn't shit on my games XD which of course could have been easily done since the back of the game case did say as you said "Halo Killer" Shadowfall however... If I wanted to play COD, I would play COD.... It looks like every other shooter. Killzones previous titles had a specific artsyle, with the latest title being so commercialized in its crisp lines and clean gun sounds. The film grain from the first one gave it a tone, and although wasn't transferred to 2 and 3, at least they made up for it with its unique look.
@@eugene664 That wasent a joke the Marine Corps dosent have a E-9 Master Chief Petty Officer that's a NAVY rank. The Navy dosent have any infantry. There's no way in hell a E-5 Marine Sergeant would be given direct orders to E-9 Master Chief Petty Officer in the NAVY. They realized they fucked up and made Avery Jonson a E-9 Sergeant Major. The Marine Corps serves under the Department of the Navy. So a E-5 Marine Sergeant would be taken orders from a Navy E-9 Master Chief Petty Officer while that sailor stayed onboard the ship. He would be given orders to that Marine Corps Sergeant) while the Sergeant was in command of a squad of Marines from ranks E-2 Private Frist Class to E-4 Corporal. Even though Kill Zone is focused around the ARMY. They got the Rank Structure correct. Liutenat General Grives is commander of the ISA. Captain Templar gives orders to Staff Sergeant Rico and Corporal Luna. I like Halo but i don't take it seriously it's moreless a joke . Little kids play Halo where people my age play Kill Zone . I think it's allot better to see red blood splatter across the screen. Than it is to see green , blue or purple. I like the fact that Halo is focused around the NAVY & MARINE CORPS but they can't seem to get the damn rank structure correct.
Killzone 2’s multiplayer was a damn masterpiece. That dark and gritty atmosphere was so immersive for that time period. It seems to me that shadow fall was more of a tech demo for the ps4. I just hope they can rejuvenate the series, cuz I’m not all that impressed with many shooters these days..
Fun fact: The Decima engine got it’s name when Guerrilla Games heard from Kojima that he’d like to work with it. Up untill that point they had just called it “the engine.” The name itself is a reference to Dejima island, a small man-made island in Nagasaki where the Dutch were the only foreign country allowed by the shogunate to trade with the Japanese for +- 200 years
It never really had an identity. 2 was phenomenal and 3 tried to piggyback off of it’s story but it never felt streamlined enough to warrant the same banner of “Killzone.” Shadow Fall sort of proves this, I mean every mission was like a different game entirely
True, Killzone was really just futuristic WW2 in terms of plot, pacing and game design. But I think whatever next Killzone game comes, it should be a Shadowfall type. Banking on the whole Cyberpunk aesthetic with futuristic Conspiracies. For me though Shadowfall felt like a heavily improved Black Ops 2 and Advanced Warfare. those 2 COD games just made dips into the whole Special forces in a futuristic world vibe but were focused on MP. the next Killzone game should improve on that
One of the best part of KZ2 for me were the speechs from the bad guy. "My people, sons and daughters of hellgast, the history of this days Will BE painted by blood,..." ....they Will know, hellgast belongs to hellgasters'
It never had the "ambition" of killing Halo. That was entirely put on them by the gaming media. They were looking for the "Halo killer" because that was the norm in gaming journalism. They looked for the next big thing that took over a genre. Halo was king and Killzone was new. The creators of Killzone said as much. They just wanted to make a good game. If you want to blame anyone for it not living up to that hype, blame the journos. I for one absolutely enjoyed the first game. I played almost entirely PvE but still. The AI was wonky. In some ways smarter than Halo's, in other ways much dumber.
KZ2 and KZ3 were 2 of my favorite games ever! Wish they could come back and capture some of that magic again. KZ: Shadowfall unfortunately was just meh (in terms of gameplay that is).
I still can't believe we haven't gotten a new Killzone game, or at least an announcement of one coming. Hot take, I actually don't think Horizon Forbidden West is all the great. I think they should have kept that story as a single game and went back to Killzone or another new IP after Zero Dawn. Forbidden West was a bit boring once the idea of robot dinosaurs had lost it's sense of wonder over two games. Really want Sony to produce a first party FPS again soon!
I had a brain fart moment. Watching this I'm like "WTF They have a Killzone gaming coming out soon"...forgetting to realise it's Metro. Not the first time I've done this
I think if they make a new Killzone, it would be awesome to see a Helghast point of view but perhaps have the player become stranded on some world with a Isa soldier and the two need to fight off some unknown enemy (traitor Helghast or something) It would be cool to see these two soldiers exchange their opinions on their fight and they'd learn to accept each other while also trying to survive. Or just have a full on Helghast campaign so we can see their side of the battle. Perhaps we could get a squad to command like in Republic Commando so it could lead to some interesting battles Then again. I'm just a fanboy. Waiting for the next game. No matter how long it takes
Killzone can still fit in Sony’s vision. Just turn it into a cinematic single player survival horror where you play as a human survivor on Vekta and have to flee from helghan troops. That idea prints money.
@@ThreeDaysOfDan i meant was that all those games only stuck to third person and didn't allow different views like driveclub and gran tourismo.thats why i said excluding. You get me?
Killzone had plenty of bad luck with its criticism and I think that’s what it struggled with the most. Killzone is a gem collection, and while many of you disagree- I played it plenty to see it this way. In the hopes we will get a new game with a great story, good online, and possibly new ideas with the old then I’m all for it.
"Back during the age of the PS3, Killzone was one of Sonys flagship franchises..." You do realize that the first Killzone was released for the PS2 initially and not the PS3? So why do you first show an image of a PS3 and then images from the first game released for the PS2?
Seven Proxies : That bugged the hell out of me too. I swear that too many people seem to forget that the PS2 literally had thousands of titles and started so many amazing franchises.
I really hope they make another KZ. KZM and SF were amazing games and there's still a community playing. Even if it's a small one there's a massive community on standby, if another was to drop.
I love that Sony makes single player focused games. But, unfortunately all their exclusives are now open world games. Usually in 3rd person. Killzone Shadow Fall also left the franchise in a bad spot, it's story and setting frankly sucked and made no sense. Sony should reboot Killzone and make a liners single player focused game in the vein of Wolfenstein The New Order and The Old Blood or Half Life. Maybe set it from the Helghast perspective too. Reboot Resistance too. Sony has no exclusive FPS games since Shadow Fall. And Microsoft made Halo terrible...
Ah, Resistance. I loved that games so much, even Resistance: Retribution on the PSP was great. I would really love to see more of this series, be it a reboot or a continuation, although I would clearly prefer the latter. The end of the last game left so much room for more.
Killzone 2 was one of my favorite games of the PS3 gen and maybe period. Same with Resistance 2, which I can’t remember exactly but had this awesome effect where in any given battle, the Chimera would be drawn to you in a sort of perimeter - so epic battles across the screen culminating in intense firefights and, imo, tight FPS mechanics (both games’ first weren’t great here, esp wanting to be the mentioned “halo killer”). K3 was solid but lost something the 2nd had. R3? Blech. I’m ready for a PS5 game of each… Guerrilla was able to make Sony’s 3rd console hum and again, the scope of battles in r2 was choice. Side note: all the giant bad guys in R2 can be killed, meaning they’re all “active”
Killzone has one of the coolest sci fi worlds in gaming and some fantastic lore. The problem was the narrative itself. What they should have done in my opinion was focus on blurring the line of who was actually right. As both the Helghasts and the ISA have understandable motivations as well as contemptible actions throughout. I would have had Sevchanko go through an arc of understanding the reasons for the war and getting to know a Helghast P.O.W. that changes his perspective on things, that then motivates Sev to seek peace rather than just victory of attrition. This is capped off by Rico killing Visari when his capture could have had the potential for a standstill. I would have then had the 3rd game revolve around a young Helghast soldier that starts out believing in their cause and resenting the ISA for the Vekta situation (maybe showing that his father or grandfather sowed that hatred as a childhood survivor of the acclimation to Helghan). But as he sees what the Helghast do in the war, he starts having second thoughts, and that fully comes to ahead when he hears Sevchanko speak against the war after the announcement of Visari's murder. This would bring the inner conflict of the Helghast protagonist to its boiling point when he is seeing the anger over Visari's death as well as seeing a decorated ISA soldier that is criticizing his own government and the war itself. There would obviously have to be a lot more than that to make 2 complete game stories, but I think these elements would have made the series much more profound and impressive narratively than just Helghasts=Nazis and the ISA=Good Guys with a few bad apples. They set up the series for a real grey morality with the backstory, that never really means that much once the Helghast increases their atrocities and hatred. I like the illusions to 1930s Germany as they felt resentment themselves towards the other world authorities after they had been ravaged by the punishments placed on them after the first World War. But just like in real life with Germany, the important aspects that motivated the totalitarian Helghast regime are ignored in favor of "muh evil enemy". Which turns a fascinating cautionary tale into a paper thin antagonist story. The series can redeem itself with a prequel still, as long as it takes advantage of the badsss lore.
Now for real, the helmets of the enemy's were just to lit
I prefer the old ones.
Storm troopers but they can shoot
General Ratko Mladic from there aesthetic alone I would join the Helghast.

A Kill zone shown through the eyes of a Helghast soldier during the invasion of Vekta woukd be amazing !

@Jeff V Imagine being this salty for 14 years.
ryan owen I’d prefer a more expansive version of Killzone Mercenary but it’d be cool.

@@lazyvoid7107 Holy shit. I’m on season 2 now. Great show! Thanks for telling me about it!
I want killzone and motorstrom to be remastered on ps4
Or a reboot
If they reboot killzone. I wouldn’t mind. That series had a lot of potential.
Motorstorm what a franchise that was I loved apocalypse I think it was the island with the earthquakes racing through collapsed skyscrapers
Have played killzone 2 recently and it is still a brilliant game and the visuals still impress.
Actually, there is some signs that there may be a Killzone or another Shooter from GG.
Last year, the map designer of Killzone 2 was rehired by GG after he worked for Rainbow Six Siege.
There was also job listings by GG and something about GG opening up a new location/expanding.
I think that’s the exact reason GG expanded. I highly doubt Sony is going to continue to exist with out a halo style offering.

Killzone 2's campaign on hardest difficulty will make you better at FPS games in general. It's hard as hell but still fair.
A gem like Killzone Shadow Fall or Titanfall 2 gets unnoticed while an open-world garbage like Farcry manages to dish out some respectable numbers, it really hurts me.
spruce74 TF2 is one of the most underrated games of all time but yet battle royale garbage gets noticed
spruce74 exactly killzone always had one of the best lores in a fps game it catered more towards hardcore gamers sadly that’s why it was never as mainstream as halo
Even 100% it, I want more lol.
shadow fall was far from a gem. more like a turd
spruce74 far cry is good tho but I agree
Killzone Mercenary was the best Killzone and 99% of so-called fans never bothered picking up a vita to play it . Reviewers gave it mediocre scores despite it having tight gameplay, the best graphics of any vita title, a pretty deep story that bridges Killzone 1 -3 ( it takes place between 1 and the END of 2 . A fun sandbox environment that allows you to do missions stealth/ tactically or demolition style and the best AI and weapons in the series . shadow fall felt like the portable game compared to it.
+1
I'd play Mercenary over shadow fall any day. I have a soft spot for 2 though because it was my first.
For me mercenary is at the level of killzone 2 the Bests games of the franchice
Its the perfect Vita game
Imagine gatekeeping being a Killzone fan because people didn't want to shell out for a fucking Vita.
One of my favourite game series of all time. Shadow Fall was a real letdown though.

I hope they bring more to the hardcore audience like me
I would love if they could bring back Sev, and Rico in a reimagined way.

The first game was amazing and i played it almost as much as i played halo. Its story was solid and the characters were plenty memorable. I never had any glitches and it even had battles against bots. So idk who says it was a disappointment. Cause thats just wrong.
Yeah, it was actually better then halo, just not so popular, because microsoft marketing and a cheaper console.
pedro silva well it was better than halo 1, but not halo 2 lol
Guerrilla Games wrote itself in a corner with the story ending of both Killzone 2 and 3. First they killed Visari and then they nuked Helgan... I suggest they retcon these two things and build back from there or yeah a Helghast-campaign could be incredibly dope too.

Uuuhhh good times
I actually really like the first killzone.
same
Same, just many bugs annoy me.
(Which is understandable, because it's pretty old.)
Halo didn't show that FPS can work on consoles. GoldenEye did.
Killzone has a back story and lore that for some reason devs just ignore. Just go to Killzone Wikia and read the timeline. Amazing stuff. You will see why Helgans look different than good guys ect Latest game was not so good but still fun game to play IMO. Rock solid shooting.
Killzone 2 and 3 and even shadow fall are just really good and beautiful and the multiplayer in 2 and 3 was so damn good
I loved Killzone 3!! It also was amazing in 3D.
Wow I remember being a sniper in kz2! It was awesome👍
Im gonna tell my story and experience about killzone
in my opinion:
1st: Guerrilla Games released the killzone triology too early if they where smart they should have released it a couple years after KZsf so that the online servers should work on the ps4. i have more hours of playing on KZ2 then 3 since the 2nd game was much better then the 3rd game, also when u rank up more u unlock weapons and characters your also unlocking ribbons (1/8) ribbons, but the 3rd game was much different from that (im not saying its bad) but i disliked that you needed to buy the weapons and ability's with points instead of unlocking wich maded it much harder to play for a newcomer, and warzone gameplay changed, like the homebase turrets in the 2nd game you could destroy these (wich respawns again after a small time) and in KZ3 you wasn't able to enter the base since the turrets shoot you dead in less then seconds.
5th: the most fun i have from the 3rd game was Operations, it gave alots exiting of action to prevent the ISA from winning like Akmir Snowdrift Mawlr Graveyard. in the 2nd game the warzones had much more potential of gameplay and teaming up with your commander and you had much more characters/ soldier classes: KZ2 had 7 types of soldiers and KZ3 (5 soldier classes/ KZsf had only 3 left?? wtf??). anyway
there you go, ive told my version, my story and experience, i loved the 2nd sooo much. playing with friends and teammates for 7 years, also the 3rd game was worth playing too, its still sad that Guerrilla games shut down the servers last year but i understand the fact now ("maintaining these old servers costs them alot of money")
even if the Kz2/Kz3 had much more people in their servers then KZsf ive heard and seen somewhere that the last ps2 of online gameplay server was shut down back in 2016.
(this is why it probably happens to ps3 servers now like kz2/kz3 and more)
iv'e never played KZsf long: only 5 games and got bored cause it was much harder to understand how these ability's work in according to the old games.
i only played the 1st game on ps2 for fun never online cause online servers didn't work much back thn
lets hope they will remaster KZ/KZ2/KZ3 for PS5. ill never give up hoping on them.
Does anyone remember the nostalgic vanquish
Didn't have an Xbox and loved playing halo at my mates house but was never envious of halo as it was just another experience I had with friends. I guess you can say my experience wasn't spoiled because my time with killzone 1 was isolated from other peoples opinions about it. Just me having fun, no disappointments guess I was lucky I had friends who didn't shit on my games XD which of course could have been easily done since the back of the game case did say as you said "Halo Killer"
Shadowfall however...
I remember when Killzone came out and people were saying it was Sony’s answer to Xbox’s Halo
KAdesignz Failed dramatically.
No Name but that’s not what it was trying to be the fans just made it look that way
Killzone is a hell of allot better than Halo.

An MCC style release for Killzone and Resistance would be great
We can only dream :(
Killzone is a solid franchise, always best looking and cool to play, better then all CoD's and BF's.
Ok sure buddy
Killzone 2’s multiplayer was a damn masterpiece. That dark and gritty atmosphere was so immersive for that time period. It seems to me that shadow fall was more of a tech demo for the ps4. I just hope they can rejuvenate the series, cuz I’m not all that impressed with many shooters these days..
Man, I spent so much hours on kill zone 3 multiplayer
Fun fact:
The Decima engine got it’s name when Guerrilla Games heard from Kojima that he’d like to work with it. Up untill that point they had just called it “the engine.”
The name itself is a reference to Dejima island, a small man-made island in Nagasaki where the Dutch were the only foreign country allowed by the shogunate to trade with the Japanese for +- 200 years
It never really had an identity.
For me though Shadowfall felt like a heavily improved Black Ops 2 and Advanced Warfare. those 2 COD games just made dips into the whole Special forces in a futuristic world vibe but were focused on MP. the next Killzone game should improve on that
I’d be happy with a killzone trilogy remaster
When they “have a love for a franchise” but haven’t talked about it recently, that game isn’t coming back unless they’re desperate.
Next Killzone might be 3rd person or 1st wide world like Horizon Zero Dawn where there will be a side story like the latest Halo, its rival game
I miss Sony multiplayer exclusives
One of the best part of KZ2 for me were the speechs from the bad guy. "My people, sons and daughters of hellgast, the history of this days Will BE painted by blood,..." ....they Will know, hellgast belongs to hellgasters'
Killzone needs to return. Kz was my first fps and it was amazing
Imagine what they could do with all the new gaming technology
Even more true now with Unreal Engine 5.
I miss killzone 2. I loved the story, the graphics at the time, and definitely the multiplayer. One of my favorite games.
Halo is dead anyway
Said the ppl that never played it
Great video. Even with laggy input on Killzone 2, I loved every bit of it. I missed the game and the lore. I wish it was a PC game.
Not the first time I've done this
Killzone 3 still holds up really well in 2021.
I think if they make a new Killzone, it would be awesome to see a Helghast point of view but perhaps have the player become stranded on some world with a Isa soldier and the two need to fight off some unknown enemy (traitor Helghast or something)
It would be cool to see these two soldiers exchange their opinions on their fight and they'd learn to accept each other while also trying to survive.
Or just have a full on Helghast campaign so we can see their side of the battle. Perhaps we could get a squad to command like in Republic Commando so it could lead to some interesting battles
Then again. I'm just a fanboy. Waiting for the next game. No matter how long it takes
Well they killed the official website. SO Killzone might be dead forever
I’m planning to get Killzone: Mercenary for my PlayStation Vita. If I can’t play Halo on the go then I’ll have Killzone instead.
Killzone can still fit in Sony’s vision.
Just turn it into a cinematic single player survival horror where you play as a human survivor on Vekta and have to flee from helghan troops.
That idea prints money.

I want a new kz in kz2 style, 32 players, I still can dream about it
I really hope they make another KZ.
A single-player FPS funded by Sony and taking inspiration from The New Order and Half-Life 2 would be absolutely incredible.
Didn't they try that with The Order?
Genome Soldat halos great
Halo was always terrible, except 4 I guess.
Helgan got blown up. Both story wise and in game.
