Welcome to the prologue to the Resident Evil The Complete Story project. This was originally going to be PT1 but just the backstory took up 13 minutes. This means that there is no gameplay footage and barely any images that match up to what I'm reading. I hope that this episode isn't too boring without them, but we're going to finish Zelda this week and then bring you the proper Episode 1 to Resident Evil!

The voice...why? So much good info. So well arranged.
But narrated in the voice for a trailer of a Michael Bay movie. Your normal voice is fine.
This was one of the first videos for our entire Complete Story series and at the time I was trying for voices. We did drop them and just speak normal for all the stories now. Sorry about these earlier ones

In the beginning of the video I was like "what're people talking about? Your voice is fine...." Then about 2mins later I realized what they meant. I couldn't really pay attention with that voice.

2017! But I think Capcom will make a RE3 Remake port for the PC first, since they already have it for the gamecube... same that happened with REmake and Zero.

I am a huge RE fan I must say you did an amazing job!
Also I love the musical element in the back round.
Just to remind you - Trevor was hired to design the mansion I think in the 60s - and that is why he survived so long in there because he knew about secret passages and rooms in the design. But there was a grave stone and trap made for him that he didnt know about - so he realises that it was all pre-planed for him to die there
Fucking hell man, I almost fainted when I heard the movie soundtrack. Thought it was going to be all about the movie. THANK YOU for keeping this piece of crap they call RE movie out of this video!
This would be a perfect series (I've watched it all the way through about a dozen times). Put together very well. But I'll be honest. 2 things. 1. State of your voice. The dark menacing voice you put on sounds cheesy. 2. It's "pro-GEN-eh-TOR" not "Pro-generator". That aside, I love this series.
Resident Evil 4 hands down the greatest i ever played. Currently Playing Resident Evil 1
A minor point, but I think an important one. George Trevor wasn't just a random guy, he was the architect of the mansion and oversaw it's construction and was likely invited/detained so that he couldn't tell anyone about any of the mansion's secrets that he designed.

Haven't played a video game since the early 2000s. RE3 was the last one in the series that I finished. Have always been meaning to read up on the story and connect them all. Little did I know there was actually a 0 through 7. This was an amazing intro- and I'm very excited to live my winter of 1997 where I was playing RE1 on my new PS1 nonstop on the next episode. This makes someone like me really stoked. Thanks.

RE4! The best mix of action and survival. A true masterpiece.
This game is a non-canon entry in the series which serves as a provider of "what-if" scenarios. One of these is of course the "Kill Leon" ending, which is (it should be noted) an optional course of events at the end of the U.S.S. storyline. The game serves as an intermediary between the games and the Anderson films - a sort of bridgehead to get the movie fans interested in the games - and many nods to the films can be seen.

Ah, ok. I'm also hearing that this fact is revealed in some kind of note you pick-up in 5. Due to watching the entirety of the game with two of my friends doing the co-op (and one of them with a short attention-span to reading), they probably passed that note or didn't bother to read it at the time. One of these days I'll actually give RE5 a chance at my hands.

4 was the best in my opinion. I think it's a masterpiece and it's in a three-way tie has my favorite game of all time. If the next resident evil could just be like 4 but bigger and more content I'd be fine with that. That's kind of what I wanted five to be but they kind of slimmed it down. And another thing I was reading the comments and someone mentioned there was going to be hallucinations in RE 5 due to the sun. I'd like to see a mechanic like that in the next resident evil maybe a sanity meter.

Kijuju is a fictional place in West Africa. Even Josh's BSAA patches say "BSAA West Africa" on them.Progenitor and the flowers were all mentioned in Resident Evil 5.
The remake of Resident Evil 1 for the gamecube scared the hell out of me when it first came out, one of the best remakes of any game i've seen. If only they did that for Resident Evil 3, having a realistic looking Nemesis chasing you the entire game would make even the toughest players throw the controller and run

you should find and read the books Resident Evil Archives 1&2 as it has a full detail history and timeline and can be found or ordered at Barnes and Nobles book store.

I've played Resident Evil for my entire life, and I've got to say, Resident Evil 3 is the best. Just having the Nemesis creep you around all the time is just amazing and adds challenge to the game.

Resdient evil 0,1,2,3, and 7 are my favorite games
Its hard to say which game is my favourite since they all have their own merits.
I think RE is potentially the best because it is the original idea and our first experience of RE, it has so much mystery and creepy music. 0 probably has the best gameplay and the most revealing story. 2 is probably the coolest and the most playable for a number of reasons. 3 is the scariest and most challenging. CVX - is intriguing and quite long and the settings make a nice change from Raccoon city.
I have only played Re:5 and have watched six so out of those to Five and I just cracked up with your voice love the series
My favorite is Resident Evil 5 just because I love the Co-op part. Resident Evil 6 didn't capture the co-op as good as 5 and the story in 5 was much well put together
Way late to this party, but my favorite Resident Evil is the original RE3.
I was playing a css ze_ server at the same time as watching this, the funny thing was that the song at 1:16 was playing on the ZE_ server as well.
I really enjoyed this but I wished their were faces of the exact characters you were talking about, and Diagrams to help keep us clear on who is who.
It would be awesome if the final twist was that the Merchant was the main bad guy. I really want a boss fight with him.
Favorite Resident Evil game to play huh? Definitely Resident Evil 3:Nemesis. Nemesis was a beast to fight with and not to mention that he can appears almost anywhere. Low on health, low on ammo and guess who appears? Damn that bastard ...

why does everyone hate on 5? it was alright. I don't like Chris Redfield much as a character and Wesker is overrated as a villain but it was decent enough.

Chris Redfield is the boss. I remember dying with Chris on the first Zombie of Resident Evil like 15 times.

The same applies to RE4 and RE6 which dont get anywhere near the hate 5 gets. If you are going to hate on anything for turning the franchise into an action game it should be 4 surely ? They saw the success 4 had and thought that was the way forward, You cant really blame them for that. 5 was a decent sequel to 4, nothing really wrong with it.

4 was the last one with horror elements even if it sucks compared to RE 1-3, it's still a masterpiece but only as standalone.
RE6 was better than 5, 5 is the worst of the franchise by far.

I really don't play all of the games but I still will say Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. Hell I like replay that game a lot.
The U.S.S were true, and operation Racoon City did happen, however when you get the opportunity to kill leon, that's the only non-cannon thing.

Ah! Is that so. Well no wonder. I only watched the entirety of the game through the play through done by two of my friends playing co-op...and one of them has a short attention-span to reading notes and journals. They probably barely glanced through it or never picked that up for me to notice.

i never played resident evil or any zombie game because when they all came out the console was in the living room and my mum has a zombie phobia so it was a little out of the question to play them

I thought I had been keeping up with all the lore in the Resident Evil series. Unless this particular fact came up in 6 (which I haven't continued since the Leon scenario), when was it known that the Progenitor Virus was based off a PLANT in SOUTH AFRICA??? I just don't remember that being a fact.
I know everyone counts res evil 5 as the worst one but I really enjoyed it with my friend we spent countless hours playing through the game over and over just to get unlimited ammo for all the guns to get all the bonuses and to get all the trophies.
