Lukabusa, vice with libricated orings, use the injector cap over the injector to distribute force and a socket large enough to sit on the fuel rail and protect the fuel injector tip.Tighten the vice until you can tighten the injector cap screws evenly to seat perfectly flat.
Watching this make me feel ghetto I chiseled the screw under the plenum till it came out and yanked out injector 1 with grip pliers but now I gotta replace another injector
I have a bad hesitation at take-off, when the car is warm. I was told it might be my injectors sticking. Can you tell if thats the case based off inspection, and will they need to be replaced or can i like clean them or something?
so I got a used set of new style injectors in the fuel rails to replace my failing old style injectors what i did to get out the first 3 is to put the rail upside down in a vise, place a 7mm socket over the plastic pintle, and give it some light (as light as i could) taps on the socket until they popped out onto my cushion of rags i had created to catch the injectors. now the plastic pintles were destroyed, but thats alright because i bought some new ones, but i just want to know if i hurt the injectors this way. im going to press the last 3 out btw
What you are referring to is doing a compression leak down test. Measure compression dry Measure compression w/ half spoon of oil in cyl If there is a huge difference, then the rings are really worn. If theres a minimal difference, then the rings may be OK. If the compression is low both wet and dry, the problem may be valves or head gasket. (Or spark plug threads).
Hey corey, im changing my fuel rails with injectors and im thinking about deleting the water lines but afraid it will void smogs... I am also wanting to put dual air filters but only one air filter will have the chip and wire connected. Will this also void smog?
Coolant bypass will not void smog. Just clean up the tb fittings to make it look clean. Dual filter w/ single MAF is useless. (That green mushroom one) True dual filter w/ MAF + Dummy MAF is crap (Old JWT setup) Go dual MAF with Selin plug-in. It's hidden and runs great, so shouldn't be an issue
Hey, great name btw. Wipe down the fuel rail where the injectors sit with acetone and a rag. Feel the lip to feel if the inside is corroded since it can be exposed. Scrub as needed. I've not yet had to sand corrosion down, but if I did, I'd use 600grit. Clean carefully if you do sand. Lubricate the walls lightly in patroleum jelly, and lubricate the new injector's o-rings as well. Be careful to not get any on the mesh of the injector. When inserting, twist gently. Usually I turn it 45-90deg as it seats, and no more. Let me know if you have issues, and good luck!
I totally can't remember for the new style fuel rail. I remember being intimidated because it was way harder than the old style rail, but it's way less common to have to replace the new style that I don't remember. Wish I had a rail so I could take measurements and spec out the right tools for you
@@CoreysZ32 i just soaked them with deep creep overnight and pulled them from the top with vise grips...used the min gripping power on the tops to not brake them. No issues.
You can try pb blaster on the top oring, twist the injector 360 a ton of times to help lubricate, then use flat screw driver between injector connector and rail, twisting. It will mar both surfaces and possibly break the injector connector but it works. Recommend $30-50 vice from Harbor frieght instead

The locking pliers worked for me, thanks so much.
This video was very helpful, I will share my knowledge now moving forward.
finally, you are back Corey!! thanks:)
This worked great for me, thanks!

Thanks for this man 👍
ok i know this is off topic but if you could point me in the right direction for a water pump replacement it would be much appreciated thanks.

also that injector wiring video would help out a lot! where is that at?
So if i have low impression on my z, i just add few drops of oil and spark plug tube and engine will start?

Good job man how is the car coming?
nice!! thanks alot
How about putting them in, I've put oil on trem and I can't press them in. Any tips?

@@ShootieMcShoot Any time brother, hope it helped!
@@CoreysZ32 it did. I put that last one in and now I'm waiting on the plenum gasket and insulaters from concept z to put everything back together.
Where are part 2 and 3?
Would this 11mm 12 point socket work pressing out injectors from a 96 rail (new style inj)? Thx

Is this channel dead?
I reply daily, or as much as possible. I still have all my video files, and just need time to edit. Sorry about delays!~
CoreysZ32 was just wondering because of the gap between videos. Hope to see you more videos in the near future.
