- I have been waiting a long time for this upgrade! In my opinion this is the most important on a E39! Facelift headlights! I makes the car look 10x times better! New painted kidney grills and trim list on the back!
I really enjoy this as my daily!

This is my BMW E39 528i Touring Manual 1999mod. It has 193hp and 280nm of torque. I daily this and enjoy it a lot! Very comfortable to drive, but sporty with coilers in the front and welded diff. Really enjoy the wagon, very practical!

I have same since 2006 528I it's going great I upgraded the wheels with 18 inch and tail light, I put 750k km still going great with original engine only changed gearbox few months back.

Facelift front bumper + Alpina lip or M-Tech bumper would be a cool upgrade.

You can swap out the angel eye bulbs to led's by using tweezers. There are rubber caps behind the headlight where you can access the bulbs.
They still looks bad tho
Have you tried it? Does LED work good?
@@FahreFilms yes i had the same depo lights on my E46, i put 2 leds in one ring (left and right), if the leds are good then 2 are enough in one ring

1. Can you make a video about your friend's w126 and 190e? It would be also cool to see variety in the channel (it exists no doubt, but even more)
2. In those garages where you go, that are not owned by some of your friends and have a lift (i can understand when you go to a buddy's garage, like your cameraman, or your friend with the 190e etc.) for example where you went to fix back in those days your E36 sedan that didn't work, or where you went to fix the ABS issue with that magical cable (yeah i'm old, and i have watched all of your videos) you "rent" the time you are supposed to be or not ? What is true regarding this in your country?
3. Can you change the broken glass of the right headlight with the previous one in order to look better?
4. You said during the Christmas days that you will go for offroading with your jeep in an event? Why didn't this happen? It was cancelled due to corona?
5. Will you make a "status" update video about your E34? It is missing your channel so far 😭...
6. And can you make another video regarding the series of your cars owned so far?

I dont know bro, in my country (where old bmws and winter drifting are a cult), we just dont understand the 'chasing' mods. If you want an facelift e39, buy one. If you want shadowline, buy an BMW with shadowline instead of just screwing up the original chrome ones. It still is and always will be an preface silver touring. Those who doesn't know it, they don't care and those who care, they know. Just let it be and enjoy the car
True, but not many 528i manual left so I bought what I could find. Facelift one would offcourse be better to start off with 👍🏼 What do you daily? 🤟🏼

Pre-facelift with chrome looks better to me. More of an old-school solid look.
The new ones look a bit more like Chinesium plastic, still good though...
But it's nice to know it's easy to do this mod, from FL to pre it would be in my case, should I ever buy one of them in the distant future, thanks. God bless.
Yeah, great build, but you should really consider buying oem facelift rear lights, they are not that expensive and look a lot better than those half working LEDs😁

Hi, love your car mate. I got a 1998 e39 saloon. I actually bought it before I knew anything about doing up old BMW's, and the lights were 22 years old, and orange at the sides. I replaced them, but whenever I posted I just got bollocked by enthusiasts for my Chinese headlights hahaha. I actually like them, but I am considering a hella upgrade when I can afford the huge cost! Wondering if there's a cheaper option anyone knows of? I'm going for the M kit first though I think

What kind of spray paint did you use, or you used construction heater to dry the paint on grills? + Love the vids. Needs mtech bumpers 😏
Used cheap spray and clear coat 1k, should have used 2k 😅 But it’s better than nothing, yeah I need new look on the bumpers!

You had Xenon pre FL headlights before? I love the FL look, tho you cant legally switch to xenon lights from halogen in switzerland. Sadly... and FL Halogen lights dont have that good of a illumination. What do you think? Love that someone has a 528i as a project car/daily aswell ;) Touring with manual rocks! :D
Hey du kannst von halogen auf xenon wechseln einmal günstig und teuer. Bei der Teuren Variante musst du Stellmotor usw. alles kaufen. Bei der günstigen musst du nur xenon Scheinwerfer kaufen die einen bestimmten lumen wert nicht überschreiten
@@chegger3303 ist nicht erlaubt wegen der Lichtstärke, Xenon und LED Scheinwerfer müssen in der Schweiz vom Gesetz her eine Scheinwerferreinigungsanlage haben.
@@christianmoser7602 Ich weiß nicht wie es in der Schweiz geregelt ist, aber in Deutschland darf man ´´Xenon´´ Scheinwerfer verbauen ohne dafür extra eine SRA anzubringen, solange es unter 2000 Lumen sind. Du wirst bei der Lichtstärke zu Halogenscheinwerfer keinen Unterschied merken aber die Scheinwerfer wirken dann trotzdem blau.
Aber ich weiß nicht ob es solche Scheinwerfer auch für den e39 gibt.

just unplug your angel lights and that's it. if BMW does not see resistance on park lights then it thinks these are not working and turns on indicators instead.
@@robingrunbaum5377 Ahh i get it. I replaced the ugly depo angel lights with cotton rgb ones, so won't work for me :D

Enkelt å bytte pærene i angel eyes'a som ikke fungerer, biltema har de til en billig penge, noen små stikkpærer
Alle fungerer, men man ser tydelig det er 5 pærer i hver angel eye, vurderer å montere ccfl inni disse lyktene. Får man ledd pærer på biltema til en grei penge? Trenger fort 20stk pærer ahah
@@FahreFilms ja jeg vet, hadde sånne selv på en e39 jeg hadde. Ble stor forskjell når jeg satt på hella lampene i stede, også med led pære fra wish. Prøvde først og bytte til led pære i den originale pæreholderen til ringene men da ble det bare enda svakere lys. Vet ikke om biltema har de små stikkpærene i led jeg? Men med 20stk led pærer er det vel like greit å selge de to settene med lamper du har og investere i et par ordentlige lamper? Husk at du trenger overganger fra pre- face ledningsnett til facelift lyktene!!

no point of using paint for the grills, it will come off.. Better use plasti dip on them saves u a lot of money!
I Don’t like plasti dip so much. I falls of so easily. You have good experience with it? 😅😅
@@FahreFilms yes just clean the suface like you would do when painting and then just spray it, BUT atleast 5x times so it gets a good coat! and it will stay there! :)

Not Depo headlights, sorry to say but those are terrible pieses of S**t. They will get all fogged up and the angel eyes are bad.
Love the car and the new headlights, but please keep the car original. Chrome is superior compared to black which looks childish and stupid. And I hate to see lazy ass people driving around with snow on the car and roof. It's like 100 NOK for a snow brush my friend. Btw, what's the km on the engine now? It was 176k when you bought it.
