Nice pillar candle holders 👍🏼 Good job on the vid🤘🏼 The 4 blocks glue up could be a cool 3 wick riser too with a few splines instead of the stones 🤔 Wonder if it's wide enough?
Beautiful wood, beautiful work Ryan. If I had any constructive criticism to make, it would only be due to my OCD where I'd be force to make sure that the grain direction lined up on the top and on the faces. There is one holder where one board's grain is turned 90 degrees of the other... I actually stopped the video to look at it and my hands started twitching :D Another minor thing and it really amounts to little as it is entirely a personal design choice, sometimes you can drill out knot holes to remove them as a blemish from the wood. Sometimes those knot holes add character to the piece. That choice isn't a fault of any kind, it is just an option for artistic expression. Although, if that knot hole goes all the way through the piece, and is big enough, then it might loosen up over time and require stabilization with epoxy or glue. I really love that redwood, I get very little of that here, but I did find a small pallet made from it and I scavenged enough wood from it to make a small flag, using the redwood as the red stripes and pine for the white.
@@conradwheeler68 Conrad what’s up brother. Dude you don’t know how much I appreciate this comment. This has to be one of thee best comments that I’ve received. Appreciate you pointing out all those things. Sometimes in a build, especially with it being a one day build video some details can be missed. Thank you so much for all the feedback my friend. It’s posts and feedback like this that make this whole woodworking/youtube journey so awesome. Thank you for your continued support, guidance and inspiration my friend.
@@conradwheeler68 Love Redwood. Need to get my hands on the same Redwood that I got last year from a Local Mill for the Shaver Cabins Post Caps. Just stunning. Beautiful wood grain and aesthetically pleasing. Also agree that knots add so much character. It’s the minor details which make a piece so unique and special.
Great project. A tip when using the router…router the end grain first. When doing end grain, it can cause chip out at the ends. If that happens, you will most likely cut it out with the router when you do other sides. I hope that makes sense.
@@loosebootwoodworking Thanks brother! Appreciate all your support Paul. You along with many others are the reason that my channel is now Monetized. Thank you so so much my friend! The build was fun. Had a few obstacles but as any good builder would do is adjust and adapt to make the mistakes unnoticed lol
So you planed it, run it through the thicknesser then cut it? Why??? Then drilled holes suddenly appeared without showing the process? I'm not a hater or a trolling but we'd have liked to see the whole process in correct order and see all the steps.
@@DavidRose-t1o Called modifying the work piece. It happens with building projects. That’s the beauty of not building per plan or spec is that you can modify if need be. Next time I’ll get footage of drilling the holes. Thanks for the feedback.
@@DavidRose-t1o Also if I might add. When surfacing all 4 sides I always face joint and edge joint with the jointer, then run other face through thickness planer and then the tablesaw.
Looking good Ryan.

They look great! I'm adding these to my "make" list. Thanks for sharing
@@bug_queen8574 You’re welcome! Glad you like them 😊
I love seeing the cat go out the "cat" door when the garage door appears to be open. More dignified to go through your private entrance.

Those look great!
